The article didn’t seem to mention spanking.
I’m not defending it (of course!) because I know that spanking (the application of a hand or even wooden spoon on a bottom) is often grouped in there right with child abuse. So put shaking and hitting with a fist in the face and all that in there and everyone says, Oh, we should make those things illegal (like they aren’t!) and spanking gets in there too.
And all that’s left is the methods that only work when parents are well-rested and entirely focused uber humans and which anyone who has to deal with real life doesn’t measure up to without a full time nanny/caregiver/helper and devolves into either yelling or psychological manipulations and threats.
Which is not good for children and has every ability to be damaging if not more-so than a spanking which is honest, usually immediate (so kids know what it was for) and over quickly.
– You know, this is the pen ultimate “teh funny”. If the Kalifornicate legislature outlaws spanking perse’, the BDSM community will relocate in mass.
