I’d rate it six smacks of gob. Maybe six and a quarter.

  2. Topsecretk9 says:

Goldfarb asks “Are they deaf or dumb?”- Try dishonest, knowingly, purposefully dishonest.

  3. JD TWP says:

Willfully obtuse or aggressively ignorant or just flat out fucking liars …

  5. Al Maviva says:

Mental illness is a terrible thing to have to watch in action, isn’t it?

  6. Well, why did he mention Al Qaeda and Iran in the same sentence? Just what was he trying to say?! I think the juxtaposition of any middle eastern nation within a word or two of the scary, bugaboo “Al Qaeda” is direct implication that the latter is operating out of the former. I checked numerous style guides and found no other conclusion could ever be drawn!
Therefore if I misunderstoon his language, it does not signify, as I understood his meaning perfectly well. The point is illustrative of the OBFUSCATION by precise language so common in Republican political discourse, as in re poof= poofter=nancyboy=renowned bloggers quoted on the floor of the senate. The only appropriate action is to substitute the words we know we think they think we don’t know what they mean but we really do.

  7. Topsecretk9 says:

    Sarah

    That was brilliant dear.

  8. JD TWP says:

Well, why did he mention Al Qaeda and Iran in the same sentence?

Just like how President Bush linked Saddam and 9/11 by saying both words, heaven forbid, in the same speech. Oh, the horror.

  9. sashal says:

    Goldfarb is dumb AND liar.
Oh and Lieberman is a liar too, with or without our troops there is no possibility in hell AQ would never be able to rule /take power in Iraq…

  10. sashal says:

    never=ever

  11. Al Maviva says:

Um, yeah Sarah. Because we all know that Iran and Al Qaida couldn’t possibly be present in Iraq at the same time, or both have interests in it simultaneously, or both have designs on spreading their influence in Iraq if the U.S. pulls out. Because that would just be crazy talk.

Reasonable people might posit that McCain was discussing the possibility that in the event of U.S. pullout, Iran would assert its influence over Shia areas, *and* Al Qaida would stake a claim to Sunni areas at the same time. Kind of like what has happened up to this point, in fact, through the Iranian poodle al Sadr, and through al Qaida’s attempts to establish radical Islamist government in various Sunni pockets. Reasonable people might posit that, thus it’s forgiveable that Gleens(es) and the Hamster don’t think that way. You must forgive them; not everybody gets the meds they need in this damned capitalist economy.

  12. Topsecretk9 says:

That sashal at 2:30 was hilarious and pathetic all at the same time – you might have just said “I know I am but what are you?” too funny.

  13. sashal says:

the recent proof of Goldfarb’s lies and/or idiotism

  14. It’s of a kind. I just caught Gleen(s) over at bloggingheads.tv, in conversation with Wonkette, and it was amazing to watch. She had to keep correcting him as he took and twisted her words.

It’s like he has this gronkulator in place that automagically applies the worst possible spin to everything you say and if you don’t immediately correct him, well, silence gives consent, right.

It was a gob-smacking, jaw-dropping display. I recommend it, just to see what a slimy thing he is.

  15. JD TWP says:

That Blackface Hamster lies is as surprising as IJS/Caric/timmah being mental midgets.

  16. alppuccino says:

    IJS is mentally that tall?

  17. JD TWP says:

Patrick – I will take your word for it. Thanks for taking one for the team. I will pray that you recover quickly.

  18. Pablo says:

I recall a girlfriend like that. Ex-girlfriend that is. She was fabulous, but for that, whereas Gleen(s) are repellent even without it. If I’d ever paid him any mind, I’d dump him. Gladly, I won’t have to worry about any of that.

  19. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

pablo to ex-girlfriend: “I was wondering if maybe we could stay in tonight… you know, just me and you”

ex-girlfriend: “yer saying I’m fat! dont try to deny it. you dont like how this looks on me? you think Ima fat sow… I know that’s what yer thinking! Dont try an tell me it’s not, cause my friend had the same thing happen to her and also oprah did a show on it… and…”

    pablo: ummmm…

  20. bergerbilder says:

Sarah, Nixon also tried to explain a similar situation:

“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard was not what I meant.”

  21. bergerbilder says:

I’ve been a Catholic all my life, but I honestly did not know that there were black Catholic churches. I just assumed that the catechism was the same everywhere regardless of location or parishioners. I know, of course, that there are black Catholics and priests (and we may have a black Pope in my lifetime) but this guy isn’t even black. Guess my gob has been smacked good and hard.

  22. narciso says:

That argument somehow doesn’t make sense; Russia having waged war in
the Caucasus for the better part of two hundred years; using the Cossacks
would come to de Islamicize that region. In response, some Chechens were
a little surly to the Soviet Authorities; as a response, Stalin deported the entire nation to Siberia Two generations later, the Chechen war drove those people into the arms of the Wahhabis; like Khattab. Hence Nord
Ost and Beslan. However, it took the
Soviet defeat in Afghanistan, to undermine their authority elsewhere.

  23. Obstreperous Infidel says:

Ok, sashal, NOW is the time that you explain your reasoning for #9. You taki guys are as BDS afflicted as any lefty out there. I think your fundamental problem is that you just do not understand ilsamists and jihadists. BTW, I was against going into Iraq, too. But that’s a done deal, now. Anyhow, please explain your reasoning for #9. Thanks in advance.

  24. sashal says:

that Goldfarb is a liar or idiot i already proved up thread.
Lieberman is my senator and he is an asshole, purely my personal opinion regardless of what taki said.
And of course several hundred or thousand fighters( our military estimates) for AQ are not capable to conquer and hold large city, and not even country….

  25. All maviva, follow the style guide link. Your bizarre, unsolicited comment is a Malkinized polemic appearing to originate at the highest levels ofunlawful government gronkulation control spy headquarters.
There’s a whole industry of IP address theories around and I’m the last person who is going to claim any expertise in that, but I have seen the idosyncratic grammatical style before and would know it anywhere, and no, in answer to your other previous queries, I do NOT want your bugged Santo running pack, or Jamaican viagra zip tie kits.

  26. Patrick Chester says:

    Goes through article sashal provided.
Ah, how neat. The old “quote one bit of text where the target doesn’t actually say what I claim he said but insist he must have meant that and go on from there to say what a poo-poo head he is” tactic.

What sort of fallacy is that, again? Strawman, maybe?

  27. Cowboy says:

I’m with you, berger, this is a homily politicized in a way that I’ve never seen & I’ve been to Mass all across the country. Generally, tell me if I’m wrong, but priests usually avoid the temporal, contemporary stuff during the homily in order to explicate the day’s readings.

Certainly, I’ve been told by priests many times that it’s totally inappropriate for a priest to be overtly political by endorsing a candidate.

  28. J. Peden says:

Hmmm..”Al Qaeda and Iran”…sounds suspicious to me…Bingo, perhaps like the truth? That Lieberman guy sure is a sly one – just must be his Ethnicity, I guess.

  29. PCachu says:

My disappointment’s gob was so harshly smacked, it couldn’t even express the depth of its shockedness. It’s going to take weeks of idiot celebrity rehab stories to get my disappointment functional again.

  30. happyfeet says:

This was a lot of fun. Favorite. Also, other other favorite. And also the Anderson house at Hurricane Mills may be one of the most perfect things I’ve ever seen really. Cept I want one with live oaks is all.

  31. Slartibartfast says:

hf, you’ve got photos of Jeff in there.
