You Don’t Say? [Dan Collins]

In a column in which he opines that the Rev. Wright scandal has legs [insert ZZ Top reference here], Bob “Chupacabra” Novak passes along the view of a long-time associate (of the Clintons, I believe) who states that they “will do anything–anything–to get nominated.”

Shocking, I know.

What are you talking about? The Clintons are the most steadfast and principled candidates to ever…. fuck, I can’t finish that sentence.

Am I to believe that he was paid to state something so obvious? I could do that.

Meanwhile, Kwame Kilpatrick has jst been indicted. Heh.

“But one longtime associate said this of the Clintons in private conversation last week: “They will do anything – anything – to get nominated.”

Even if this is not made up by Novak, it is becoming clear to the Clintons that they will be eating their own to get the nomination, and will thereby confer upon themselves more ignominy than Thomas Eagleton
in 1972. I predict a unified Democratic Party by May.

The question is whether this realization will lead them to change their behavior. I don’t believe it will.

The prospect of ignominy has had little effect on their decisions in the past; people in their 60s are even less likely to change than those in their 40s.

    What “Chupacabra” reference?
