There’s a reason Hillary Clinton has remained silent during the flap over intemperate remarks by Barack Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright.
I refer — of course — to Clinton’s desire to avoid media scrutiny of her endorsement of Heather Mills.  The sight of Clinton thanking Mills for her work in organizing the 9/11 concert for the NYC police and firefighters who booed her might be embarassing. And thanking Mills for her work against landmines might remind the Democratic Party’s lefty base that Clinton has refused to support the international treaty to ban them.
When Clinton shot her video, she might have been unaware that Mills had a chequered past, including the lurid photoshoot for a hardcore German book, and the accusation that Mills was once a high-priced hooker for wealthy Arab clients. But Clinton knows it now, as surely as she should know that Mills, after being awarded £700/hr. in her divorce from Sir Paul McCartney, responded by throwing a glass of water over the hair of Sir Paul’s lawyer. Mills may not have cared for the High Court ruling, which stated that Mills had a “warped perception” of the world, “indulged in make-believe,” was “not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid” and criticized her “explosive and volatile character.”
Clinton cannot be seen as endorsing a person like this, and thus remains desperately silent about Obama’s relationship with the noxious Rev. Wright.
And for newbies: Yes, I’m kidding.
