Heh.ÂÂ
The [Detroit] City Council on Tuesday asked Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick to resign in light of evidence that he had lied under oath and plotted to cover up an extramarital affair with his former chief of staff. ÂÂ
For Carin. ÂÂ
The Devil made him do it:
The vote came a week after the mayor’s annual State of the City speech, in which he angrily blamed racism for his troubles and accused the news media of having a “lynch-mob mentality†against him.
“The mayor’s lack of discipline last Tuesday was the straw that broke the camel’s back,†Councilwoman Cockrel [crowed].
The only Council member to vote against the resolution was Monica Conyers, the wife of Representative John Conyers Jr., a Michigan Democrat; Ms. Conyers said the Council should have waited until it had more information before voting on such a statement.
Dan – why should he go? I mean, one has to consider the context and examine your conscience. An insistence that he resign now because you, a white guy thinks he should is just ludicrous. He has spend his years raging against the machine (built and maintained by whitey), for heaven’s sake. Dude, you just can’t possibly understand, so don’t even try. Nothing like a conservative white guy suggesting a black man resign. Because of teh WLT.
Well, and he has a job to do. @@
Is it in Karls post that it is mentioned the fluidness in regards to sinners and black churches? We’re all sinners … yada yada yada. This same rubric is used for political figures.
“Sure … he made a mistake, but he’s sorry …”
Damn the Detroit City Council. It’s in the bible! You know the CIA put that stripper on Kwame’s lap.
Um, Pastor Wright, you misspelled your name.
Picky, Craig. It’s his name. He can spell it however he likes.
Hell, I know I shouldn’t have done those things but you gots to understand, that bitch was fine!
I actually used to own that album.
It’s racist to expect a person to remain monogamous?
Have I got this right? Lying under oath is OK for elected Democrats (Clinton, Kilpatrick), but not for anyone with an R after his name (Libby), or for ordinary people even if they are Democrats (Martha Stewart.)
