  3. Salt Lick says:

The greatest HuffPo moment for me was when newswoman Campbell Brown married Dan Senor, and the HuffPo mob spent a day pummeling her for a whore who was marrying a Republican to get ahead. Oh, Dahling, it vas rich.

Hmm.. didn’t Her Royal Highness Arianna do more or less just that?

  5. MayBee says:

    What an odd list.
I’m just happy to see Kos not on there.

  6. “The world’s 50 most powerful blogs”

Come on, The Huffington Post at #1? No Protein Wisdom??

    Here’s the list…

  7. N. O'Brain says:

I’ve read two of them. And no longer read Andrew Sullivan.

    Some influence.

  8. EllisonW says:

“I Can Haz Cheezburger” more influential than a blog read on the floor of the Senate? All this emphasis on cats likeing slaughtered beef and buns – are they trying to say that the food *I* like is gay? Because just what are they trying to say?

  9. easyliving1 says:

Wow. That drudge asshole must be a real fucking loser piece of shit. Publishing those rumours that the decent folks in the MSM (was it Newsweek?) wouldn’t touch and all.

At least Perezfuckhilton (number 6) and Gawkfucker (number 10) are more influential than Drudge (an overrated number 11, in my opinion), so there’s that.

  10. Daryl Herbert says:

Being influential is not the same as having lots of traffic, if you don’t actually expose the traffic to new ideas. Showing them pictures of rabbits with pancakes on their head or lolcats might be high comedy (I said might) but that doesn’t make them influential.

Drudge is obviously influential, not just because he drives traffic, but also because he breaks news. It’s understandable why The Guardian might not recognize that as an important trait in a fellow journalist.

A blog like Power Line may have far fewer readers than Instandpundit, but still have a major effect because it speaks to more important people, on average. Protein Wisdom is a blog read by all influential right-wing bloggers. That makes it helluva influential.

  11. MayBee says:

If I had a blog, I bet it would be super influential. That’s why I don’t have one, really. It would be too much power for just one woman.

  12. cranky-d says:

I think you could handle it, Maybee. A benevolent dictator of the news.

  13. Cowboy says:

I’d be ashamed to add in the comments sections here at PW some of the dreck I’ve seen feautured in HuffPo.

…and the lolcat site has influenced me–to never buy a kitten.

  15. N. O'Brain says:

AND there’s a new LOL site:

    http://ihasahotdog.com/

Where’s Rachael Lucas when you need her?

  16. Dan Collins says:

Can’t wait for happyfeets lolturtell site.

  17. Erik The Red says:

They may have a point. Liberals tend to not think for themselves; they just parrot what others say. So what they read in their blogs has a more profound influence and hence the lefty blogs are more powerful. Works for me.

  18. Andrew says:

So the lefty Guardian notices the lefty news stories responding to the lefty blogosphere?

    Is that it?

I’m hungry. Is anyone else hungry? I’d like a burger or something. From Five Guys. They have great burgers.

  19. lee says:

Here’s the tip off this list may be tilted:

Michelle Malkin, […] main theme is how liberals betray America by being soft on terrorism, peddling lies about global warming and generally lacking patriotism and moral fibre.
