Between Gloria Steinem challenging John McCain’s POW cred and Howard Wolfson setting himself up for a televised Whitewater smackdown from David Axelrod, it is a race to the bottom before Tuesday.

But she also opined that “a majority of Americans want redemption for racism, for our terrible destructive racist past and so see a vote for Obama as redemptive.” Then, using a term for the mass killing of women, she added, “I don’t think as many want redemption for the gynocide.”

Ok, that definitely qualifies as teh stupid.

excuse me while I go gag and cringe somewhere …

Speaking of Tuesday, Sean Penn’s Into the Wild is available on DVD.

    Coincidence?

    WOW, she’s a pro-torture, pro-gitmo lefty then? Cool.

    I just noticed something…N.O.W. / P.O.W.

Like McCain or not, it is funny how McCain lfe narrative divides the nation into two camps – 2/3 those who think him a hero, and 1/3 who think him a fool.

You see, Steinem can’t comprehend that people look at McCain the man and see that his voluntary service, in harm’s way, is an indication that he loves the United States and is loyal to the Nation and its institutions in a manner that Steinem simply does not and can not be. That he refused to accept an early release from captivity, knowing that his torture would escalate, in the interests of preserving his honor, that of the United States, and the morale of his fellow P.O.W.s makes him a fool to Steinem.

    But . . . don’t question her patriotism.

Count me in the overlapping “they’re both right” camp. He was a hero in the 1960s and ’70s — but a fool in the 1990s and now.
