Gina Elise is selling a nostalgic pin-up calendar to raise funds for hospitalized Veterans, and as gifts to ill and injured Veterans, as well as our deployed troops to help boost morale. I am not a vet, but Ms. Elise seems very boosty. Like Dan wouldn’t have written the exact same thing.

On the second page she has puppies.
I think they’re schnauzers. Is that ironic?
Actually, happyfeet, that’s not at all ironic. Schnauzers served proudly in World War II, helping defeat the Krauts through their courageous service in the Quartermaster War Dog Program.
Oh. I didn’t know that.
Actually they’re yorkies, idjit.
So is that like ironic?
ha! I thought so, but then I’m clueless about dogs. except RTO is all, “Let’s get a beagle” and I’m all, “over my dead body” freakin’ annoying dogs. always barking and not to mention he broke his brother’s beagle so I wouldn’t even want to think about the vet bills if we got one that had the same kinds of problems. (some hip displacement thing I think) anyhoo, right now I’m watching our 45 lb. shepherd mix give the growly 15 lb cat a wide berth. “May I please get a drink, Ms. kitty?” grrrrrr “okay, some other time then, perhaps?” rrraaaarrrrrrr.
I’ve seen her linked before. I like what she’s doing. It’s nice.
I don’t care what ya call em. Thems damn fine puppies. And the rest of ‘er ain’t bad either.
Probably the most famous War Dog was Chips. … He was assigned to the 3d Infantry Division and served with that unit in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. … Although trained as a sentry dog, Chips was reported on one occasion by members of Company I, 30th Infantry Regiment, to have broken away from his handler and attacked a pillbox containing an enemy machine gun crew in Sicily. He seized one man and forced the entire crew to surrender. He was also credited by the units to which he was assigned as having been directly responsible for capture of numerous enemy by alerting to their presence. In recognition of his service Chips was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart, both were later revoked.
By one of thor’s ancestors, no doubt.
In my experience, cats “tame” big dogs by clawing their noses. Very sensitive bit, and not something they forget. I had a German Shepherd mix that gave the barn cat all the respect possible because of a little notch taken out of her nose.
She’s not seriously thinking of riding that bike in those shoes, is she?
Cheeky!
She is very boosty. She was at that Convention where Glenn Reynolds got the photos of Liz. He got some good photos of this young lady, too. I think we should lobby to see if we can get her painted on a military plane somewhere.
…oh, wait a minute, you mean paint the plane.
Must concentrate on work.
Must concentrate on work.
I bought some of these for the troops at the VA Hospitals last year and Gina wrote a personal letter of thanks.. She’s a good woman.. a nice person .. and her heart’s in the write place.. (as are all her other parts…totally put together as they said in The Godfather..)
So buy some for the troops already!
An aging street walker named Krupps,
was heard to remark in her cups
“The height of my folly,
was diddling a collie –
But I got a good price for the pups!”
ja, Roxie still gets the occasional swat to the snout cause she just can’t understand why Carlos(the larger cat) doesn’t want to play with her, but she knows to stay clear of the smaller one no matter what.
