Quote ‘o the Day (CraigC)

If you’re planning to buy chocolate for Valentine’s Day, you might want to check the expiration date on it.

CBS 2 HD went back to the store where it was purchased, Nut City on 2nd Avenue, to show the manager, who said they aren’t responsible because the candy is purchased from another company. The store, however, did agree to take the rest off the shelves.

I mean if I went into my closet and there was like a box of Godiva from last year I forgot about I think I’d at least give it a nibble. It’s chocolate, you know?

  2. McGehee says:

I never keep chocolate around long enough for it to expire.

    I’m smart like that. <urp>

  3. Darleen says:

Don’t buy what passes for chocolate on the shelves of the 99 cent stores, peeples!!

    Godiva? Pffffft

    Sees!! Now that’s chocolate.

Mostly as long as it’s sorta brown and doesn’t have odd bits of fruit in it cause that’s weird, I’m in.

I’m not counting chocolate strawberries there. I miss Amy’s Ice Creams ones. They go on sale tomorrow. You have to click on the Chocoberries thinger over to the right.

Chocoberries is really a beautiful word I think.

    1) The person who disclaimed responsibility thought they were protecting the store. Isn’t that just the sweetest road to Hell?

    2) I wonder if this has anything to do with the high sales tax rates in NYC? Regulatory barriers to fresh chocolate and all that.

Good metaphor though CraigC. We are offered rehashed wealth redistribution by the left’s darling and the prospect of a retread president as first lady – might sound sugary sweet to some, but perhaps rotten, worm-infested chocolate is the new KoolAid.

    Just sayin’

Will we still be allowed to purchase chocolate this time next year? War on Obesity, and all.
