Oh, wait . . . that’s Bobby Knight.

Sorry.

Dan, I am going to track you down and kick you in the nuts.

  2. Belvedere jones says:

Knight quits. Mini-Knight takes over. Indy media commences coverage ad nauseum.

If I’m lucky it’ll fade by the end of the week. Unless Bag-of-wind Vitale returns by then.

Bobby Knight is God. And God don’t die.

  4. Belvedere jones says:

    God’s not an asshole either.

I like Bobby Knight. He’s THE alpha male amongst alpha males. The temper thing? Don’t piss him off.

His players learned to respect him. That’s lacking today, among many of the yuts of America. With no respect, there’s no humility; with no humility, you tend to set up your own little Godhead in your own head.

    Then, you vote Democratic…

The General was one of the most intimidating and interesting people I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. The man I met, and the asshole displayed for the public are so incredibly different so as to make you wonder if they were the same people.

  7. Carlo says:

The real player never quits! No matter what happens on the play just accept the truth. May the best man win?

  8. JD says:

Lucky? Is that you? Good boy …

Of course Bobby Knight would have to retire suddenly and piss people off. He’s always been a man of action willing to take the abuse from the consequences of those actions. And he’s willing to fight you over the level of abuse and tell you to get over it. He’s a great motivator and a tremendous asshole, able to say whatever he thinks up. He could write the greatest blog in history, but will probably spend his time saving up bitterness for the eventuality that Coach K will soon have the most wins. Then there’ll be another in a long list of great quotes that shock/astound/humiliate.

I’m glad he’s not associated with any of my favorite teams, but I was always really glad someone like Bobby Knight was out there. Thanks, asshole, for all the great memories. And I’m sure your retirement will last at least another month.
