Bolton Spanks NPR, Nicely [Dan Collins]

Over the NIE.  This is one for the ages.

But . . . but . . . but . . .

I don’t see him being invited back anytime soon.

    Regis. Rocks.

    By the way, where’s Jeff?

  2. S. Ristic says:

I didn’t hear any “but…but…but.” It seemed like a fairly civilized back and forth Q and A.

Is that the same John Bolton who said this in April of 2003?

“Bolton: We have a very detailed plan to try to locate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction storage areas, chemical agents, biological agents, warheads, production facilities, the files and records of the weapons programs, so that these can be exposed to the world so that everybody can see the extent of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction and also so that we can begin the process of destroying them…”

  3. JHoward says:

The NPR twiterviewer: The unknown sacrificial Star Trek castmember in the off-color shirt…who also typically lasted about seven minutes, twenty-five seconds.

  4. ccoffer says:

Leftists hate competent people. Thats why they especially hate Dick Cheney and John Bolton.

  5. daleyrocks says:

Rictus – See the word TRY in your pull quote there. It might have some importance.

  6. S. Ristic says:

There is so much to love about John Bolton.

I am a keen admirer of his diplomatic forays back in the 1970’s. His presence at that time in Mid-Manhattan social circles is particularly noteworthy. It was there he earned the nickname, “Captain Bangeroo.”

  7. Dan Collins says:

    Oh, look. It’s Sir Castic.

  8. Swede says:

    Oh, NOW I remember Bolton.

Yeah, he and I ran in the same Mid-Manhattan social circles.

I was “Fucky the Wonder Horse”.

  9. S. Ristic says:

    John Bolton:

“…the NIE suffers from a common problem in government: the overvaluation of the most recent piece of data. In the bureaucracy, where access to information is a source of rank and prestige, ramming home policy changes with the latest hot tidbit is commonplace, and very deleterious.”

    Curveball, anyone?

  10. S. Ristic says:

Gosh, Dan. It’s almost like I’m an ex of yours…

  11. Dan Collins says:

Just like to have everything above board, you know. So we can compare your history of interpretation and prognostication with Bolton’s, and assess just how unbiased you are.

To what do I owe the favor of your company?

  12. daleyrocks says:

Hah, did you know S.Ristic spelled backwards is Cistirs! We are familee!!!!

Timmerman, is that you again? No need to take it so personally. Then again, I guess there is.

  13. S. Ristic says:

Here I went to the courtesy of citing a conservative columnist, and I wind up getting “assessed”. #9 & #10 hit a nerve, eh?

  14. Dan Collins says:

Geez, when you start with that “hit a nerve” stuff, you sound a lot like “Jon Swift,” whose ambition, it seems, is to be some kind of sadist rolfer.

  15. S. Ristic says:

Forget Jon Swift and S. Ristic. Do you think George Will believes John Bolton has any credibility left? That is why I cited a conservative. It’s not just NPR, Dan.

  16. Dan Collins says:

George Will? Who gives a rat’s ass what George Will thinks?

I probably care as much what George Will thinks as you do what General Batiste does.

  17. S. Ristic says:

That pretty much jives with Boltons’ thoughts these days. Doesn’t give a rats’ ass…

Maybe 50 years from now he’ll be seen as a visionary. Or a rats’ ass.

  18. daleyrocks says:

I missed something. People claim Bolton has lost credibility. Who are they and do they have any credibility?

  19. Mikey NTH says:

All those comments, and S.Ristic really hasn’t said anything.
    How…typical for our trolls.

  20. daleyrocks says:

Yeah, but his ego tells him he struck a nerve. Overconfidence is a problem when you’re always certain and seldom right.

  21. B Moe says:

They haven’t found those women on TV yet, Holloway or Petersen. Does this mean they never existed?

  22. The Lost Dog says:

Bolton is a good example of what drives the Proggs crazy.

Anyone who stands up for common sense is considered a nutball.

And who cares who Bolton schtupped anyway? I used to be fairly active in that arena myself. Until my sex appeal became my waterspout.

  23. Rusty says:

And who cares who Bolton schtupped anyway?

Judging by the acrimony,S. Ristic’s sister.

BTW. Conservatives don’t think G.Will is much of a conservative. More like a moderate.

    Sorry about your sister.

  24. Andrew says:

Meh. Bolton is Bad because he’s so Mean. Same juvenility, different day.
