“Men redundant? Now we don’t need women either. Scientists have developed an artificial womb that allows embryos to grow outside the body,” The Guardian reports.

If you read the article carefully you’ll realize that all they’ve done is create some scary sounding hype. It is a very long ways from keeping a goat fetus alive for nine days to keeping a human zygote alive and developing properly for nine months. So far, they aren’t even close.
Myria
Ah, yes, Myria—but it’s a long way from vacuum tubes to computer chips, as well! Yes, artificial wombs are a long way off (test tube babies, too, were once a long way off). But you have to admit, the rate of technological advance has certainly quickened over the last several decades. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this project reach fruition in my lifetime… (still, you’re right, so far as the story goes. You’ll note I merely quoted The Guardian—hardly known for its staid commentary!)
