Anglosphere Expansion? [Dan Collins]

Dymphna at Gates of Vienna has an interesting article up about Denmark and the implications of its launching an anti-piracy cruiser, that ends:

Thinking about this news report, it seems to me that Denmark is evolving into part of the Anglosphere. It must be all that Danish DNA that was inserted into the English gene pool before there ever was an England.

I little more of that Norman thing might be welcome.

I think Hamlet got captured by pirates once and so this makes sense that they would be wary.

    Racist! that’s Pangean DNA.

  3. Russ says:

They already celebrate on the 4th of July, and most of them speak English… I say, welcome aboard, Danes.

    Emperor Misha probably wouldn’t object.

  4. Spiny Norman says:

Before there was an England? Ah, no, the Danes began their raids in the 8th century. The Anglo-Saxon “English” had already been there for 300 years.

Before there was a Norman-French England, I suppose, yes.

But to second Russ, “Welcome aboard, Denmark!”
