He gets that revelation exactly backwards — what greater love than parents adopting? Yes, parents even before the fact, by considered choice, not by chance, nor by hope.
He is to be excused for his misinterpretation, he took a comment to heart by young girl as a young boy, but wasn’t able to bring himself to reinterpret it later in life — which shouldn’t be taken as criticism on my part, as it is still individual and complicated indeed.
