Mr. Populist [Dan Collins]

Our friend Chuck blows up at another blogger, threatens to take out a hit. Probably TMI, but . . . Free Speech has the details, in case you’re interested in the peculiar pathology. (h/t Darleen)

Oh. That sort of situation is NOT hopeless, I really believe that, but getting things on track takes a lot of love and patience, and not everyone I think has a real concept of what I mean by “a lot” here.

What a sad, sick little man.

  3. Aldo says:

Chucky lives with mom. That fits.

  4. Sticky B says:

I can’t cite any official stats, but my guess is that at least 98% of 35 year old men no longer live with their parents in their parents house. Maybe if you throw in situations where the elderly parents have moved in with their 35 year old sons so that he can assist them in getting along, you might get up to 2%.

So the unemployment rate is under 5% nationwide and has been for several years, somewhere between 12-20 million people live here illegally in order to fill job openings that otherwise wouldn’t get filled, and this poor bitch blames his plight on the president????? That is the richest thing I’ve read in months. You try to create a pathetic sterotype to mock your opponent and find he’s actually living the dream. DAAAAAAMMMMMMN!!!!!!!

I’ll repeat what I said on FreeSpeech

There are a lot of reasons someone 35 y/o’s might be living with his/her parents, but once someone starts blaming the President of the United States for it, all legimate reasons fly out the window.

  7. Drumwaster says:

yeah, I’m 35 and I live with my folks, thanks your wonderful President.

So what happened up until when you turned 28, Chuckles? Were you living with Mommy and blaming it on Bee Jay Clinton? Or are you just too consumed with righteous indignation to open a paper to the Classifieds?

Intellectual honesty – it’s not just for Republicans any more!

  8. happyfeet says:

It really is a there but for the grace of God thing, ask me.

  9. Dan Collins says:

Would it be too much to ask, for those of us who are prayerful, at least, to keep Chuck in our prayers for a bit? He is troubled.

  10. Jeffersonian says:

I agree with Dan…there comes a point that one is kicking a man that’s down. We’ve gotten there with Chuck and it’s no longer sporting. It goes beyond politics at that point and becomes a matter of human dignity and Christian compassion. I’ll be keeping Chuck in my prayers…thanks for the reminder, Dan.

After reading Adkin’s blog, comments and emails….are we sure “Chuck Adkins” isn’t just a sock of Larry C. Johnson? All criteria match to a tee…just sayin’

Chucky may be a jerk, but he lives in suburban Detroit and the classifieds (and Monster.com and careerbuilder.com et al) are a waste of time looking for a job in Michigan. The unemployment rate here is about double the national average and there are many qualified people applying for every position that is posted. I’ve sent out literally hundreds of resumes and gotten no response from about 98% of them, arriving at the point where an actual rejection cheered me up because it meant that someone at least bothered to read my resume.

  15. happyfeet says:

That’s a very good point. From what I understand, selling your house and moving is not exactly a feasible plan B either.

  16. Topsecretk9 says:

H Feet – Yes. Staying in the same place expecting a job in a depressed marke to appear is, well…like banging your head against a wall.

Here is a magical option…look to a location that IS hiring in owns field.

My father’s (preamble – I’m wearing my Thor monogrammed thong right now) job QUEST took us cross country and back. My brother atended 14 schools (me? only 6, I came along later).

Anyhow, food on the table can be found.

  17. happyfeet says:

Yes, I do agree with that. But your house won’t sell is the point since no one in their right mind is moving to Michigan, and a LOT of people are trying to get the hell out of there.

  18. SondraK says:

    Chuck is a sociopath.

    CHRISTIANIST!!1one1!!

  20. Carin says:

Chuck can’t blame his problems on President Bush; he should look no further than Granholm (D), Kwame (D mayor of the closest major city), and our Democratic senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin. But, I’m sure the future will be bright since we just upped the income tax, and found a bunch of new things we could tax. Skiing, but not golf, which is apparently a necessary service? Sorry if this has been traveled already, but I was offline.

  21. Carin says:

Oh, and Granholm has announced her support of Hillary For PREZ!! She had a nauseating Op-Ed in today’s paper. I almost lost my breakfast. I’m still feel a tad queasy.

Sorry for the long cut and paste- it was all just so yummy:

Michigan business leaders know that perhaps the greatest competitive challenge our manufacturers face is health care costs. Sen. Clinton’s plan for universal health coverage will change that. It will ensure that Michigan citizens have affordable coverage and plenty of choices, and it will help Michigan businesses of all sizes be competitive. Her commitment to improving our nation’s health care system is nothing new — in fact, she helped shape the children’s health care legislation that currently covers 55,000 Michigan children and may soon cover tens of thousands more.
Trade, worker training and health care are the most critical issues for Michigan, but we know that creating jobs requires diversifying our Michigan economy. Sen. Clinton’s proposed Strategic Energy Fund would use a small portion of windfall profits of major oil companies to kick the United States’ alternative energy development into overdrive. With Michigan’s concentration of research and design talent and infrastructure, we are in a great position to lead the country in developing alternative energy technologies, and Michigan citizens would benefit immensely from the senator’s proposed investments.
Other issues that are important to Michigan citizens would receive the attention they deserve in a Clinton White House. The senator has pledged to protect the Great Lakes from diversions. She will protect families from predatory lenders and help hardworking Michigan citizens avoid foreclosures. And she is committed to ending the war in Iraq and restoring America’s standing in the world.
In addition to the work we will continue to do at the state level, Michigan needs a champion at the highest levels in Washington — a champion for our people, our businesses and for Michigan’s middle class. From fair trade and worker training, to health care for all, to alternative energy, Sen. Clinton has made clear that she will be that champion. That is why we will work to elect Sen. Clinton as president of the United States.

  22. McGehee says:

So what happened up until when you turned 28, Chuckles? Were you living with Mommy and blaming it on Bee Jay Clinton?

    No, Gingrich.

    Betcha anything.

  23. McGehee says:

    And before that? Limbaugh.

  24. OK a little off topic…

Living with your parents when you are unemployed is actually a really good idea. Saves you money, even if they charge you rent, parents are usually a lot more forgiving than most landlords.

    cue violins…

I got laid off in 2001 and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Seriously put my life into perspective.

One hint at that perspective? When I was finally offered a job, it was a full 20% under my previous salary. When I told someone I knew that I didn’t think I could afford to take a pay cut, he said it sounded to him like I just got a raise. And he was right, seeing as how I didn’t have a fucking job at the time.

I accepted that job and it was the smartest thing I have ever done.

    …crescendo and cut music.

  27. JD says:

Topsekret9 is sooooooooooo cool. Except for the thor part. But the thong part. Yeah.

  28. JD says:

I will pray for Chuckie. I pray that he finds a Church and does not terrorize them. I pray that since his family has obviously not stepped in to offer help, that one of his real, or imaginary friends does so. I pray that someday he realizes that he is a boil on the ass of humanity, and takes steps to cure himself. And, I pray that he reads this, and it spurs him to some type of positive reaction.

  29. happyfeet says:

    I’m wearing thongs too!

  30. happyfeet says:

    No, I’m not, actually.

  31. happyfeet says:

    yes he is

  32. McGehee says:

    Thongs for the mammaries…

    …that’s just wrong, isn’t it?

  33. JD says:

happyfeet – thongs for the feet are quite alright. Man thongs, not so much. Unless they are gold lamae, and found under one of Village People costumes.

  34. JD says:

    McGehee – So very wrong.

  35. daleyrocks says:

Depends how big the mammaries are.
