"New EPA Regulations to Improve the Environment Tank the Economy"

The EPA: Getting rid of that pesky mercury particulate because Obama Administration cares about your health, and the health of the planet. It has nothing to do with wanting to cripple the energy sector, cost untold numbers of jobs, and drive up prices to influence behavior and further define the classes. To argue otherwise is racist. The fact that they’ve stood behind a mandate that requires you reintroduce that mercury

"Greece Strikes Turn Violent"

Rather than come to grips with the necessity of austerity, Greek union members continue making demands for other people’s money that no longer exists, and anarchist youths riot in the streets. But it could never happen here, right? Imagine. A crisis of civil unrest that would require the government to step in and create order. Why, it’s like a totalitarian wet dream…! (h/t Terry H)

"Wisconsin Supreme Court Overturns Judge Sumi"

I’m not a legal expert — nor have I read the decision — but if I had to venture a guess, the Wisconsin justices most likely outlined their reasoning based on a number of key facts, most strikingly, that Judge Sumi’s initial ruling was dishonest, partisan, and in no way aligned with any possible reading of applicable law or precedent, largely because she’s a judicial disgrace who should be reprimanded

My problem with Glenn Beck

On the one hand, we’re supposed to believe that anyone can read and understand the Constitution — meaning, we don’t need a special priesthood to interpret the thing (and of course, this is true, assuming a base level of reading comprehension and intelligence, and assuming one can get past the fact that the document itself is like, over a hundred years old!); and yet at the same time, the Federalist

"Obama fundraiser underwhelms"

Sure. But that’s only because he’s a lock for re-election — so weak and wrong on the issues is the field challenging him. I know this because conservative David Frum tells me so. And honestly, has there ever been a more astute student of reading political trends than David Frum? Incidentally, I forget: who’s the “No Labels” candidate for 2012? Trump? Bloomberg? Either way, I can’t wait!

"Michele Bachmann steals the show at GOP debate"

Dana Milbank, Washington Post: There was one candidate who rose above the usual positioning, though she stood a head shorter than the six men on the stage. Eleven minutes into the debate, Michele Bachmann stole the show, and she didn’t return it in the subsequent hour and 49 minutes. Based on Monday night alone, Bachmann was the one who emerged as the anti-Romney from the otherwise drab field. That is

"1.9 Million Fewer Americans Have Jobs Today Than When Obama Signed Stimulus"

Sure, the “shovel-ready jobs weren’t as shovel ready” as Obama’d thought [cue: uproarious laughter] — and sure, the Democrats controlled Congress from 2006 until just this year, and so were in control of spending — while their “regulatory” policies, begun by and under President Bill Clinton, were turning an experiment in social engineering and Democrat plunder into a toxic housing bubble that eventually would push banks to make bad loans,

Environmentalism too: Electric Car Bugaloo

You know those electric cars we’re all supposed to buy to help the environment? Turns out that, all things considered, and using full lifecycle emissions, electric cars are worse polluters than small, gas-powered vehicles. Which have the advantage of not needing government subsidies to get people interested in buying them. Oops! Next time I see a Leaf or one of those ridiculous Smart Cars, I think I’ll pull up along

"Weiner Will Keep Collecting $174,000 Congressional Salary While on Leave"

CNS: Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) will continue to collect his $174,000 taxpayer-funded salary without interruption while he is taking a leave of absence to seek “professional treatment,” according to the House Administration Committee, which has oversight over the congressional payroll. In a 365-day year, a congressman’s $174,000 annual salary works out to $476.71 per day. Weiner announced Saturday through a spokeswoman that he would be taking a leave of absence

"Islam and Anti-Semitism at Yale"

The legitimation of anti-“Zionism” is being ramped up internationally. Arab money, coupled with international leftism, are conspiring to once again scapegoat the Jews, only this time, it is the “Israelis” and those who support them. Here, the legitimation comes from the academy and the leftwing press, and spreads outward to the culture at large. We’ve seen this play out before. I’ve long known the left wants to drag us back
