BECAUSE OF THE MATRIARCHY!!!!

And the friction.
It’s like being dryhumped to death by a mass of eager adolescent boys.
Or, you know, so I imagine.

The grubs, they pretty much call the shots, no?

Those bees have z-visas?

Give those poor immigrant bees amnesty.

Calling all bees….Climb Mt. Niitaka!
That was pretty damned interesting – thermal bee swarm, attack!

The cause of global warming is–
BEES?!
Comment by Diana on 6/27 @ 5:54 pm #
It’s because of the EUrgonomics.
Comment by BRD on 6/27 @ 6:24 pm #
Actually, that’s pretty impressive – they are able to get up to 112 degrees F with waste heat.
Comment by Pellegri on 6/27 @ 6:34 pm #
Yeah, and they warm whole hives that way during winter.
Bees are awesome. I love bees.

I thought the part (of the full documentary) where the 50 hornets killed 30 thousand bees in a few hours needed some music from 300. Maybe the lead hornet yelling “THIS IS NIPPON!”
I think this is a re-edit and re-voicing of another documentary I’ve seen, The footage is almost the same, but the voice-over is different. The “collective vs. individual action” hammer is wielded a little more bluntly in this clip as well.

Ok, the bits with the grubs are going to give me nightmares (daymares, actually) for weeks. BTW, was that Pippin doing the voiceover?

You mean the way they’d all slam their jaws into the sides of their cells, demanding food?
Reminds me of the office right before lunch.

Ironic. The Japanese bees are less productive, but more martially effective.
