Romney says he isn’t running; Bush, Christie now the new “inevitable” nominee contenders

But hey, we can take care of that, I think. After all, Christie has overseen NJ’s credit-rating tanks, and Bush — well, Common Core, amnesty, “center-rightest,” et al. Both fit this description perfectly: ” he is the wrong man at the wrong time representing the wrong people.”

Then of course, there’s Princess Lindsey. Who is a McCain favorite. And there’s nothing more important in a GOP primary than the imprimatur of John McCain, perhaps the most impotent, unbalanced, and feckless “leader” of the modern era. A “Maverick” with a black thumb, he has proven he can turn any flower into a pile of wilted compost.

Now, this doesn’t mean one of them won’t be foisted on us; after all, they have big money support and Karl Rove’s shiny white board to buoy them. Just that neither has a single chance in hell of winning, given the number of fed-up conservatives and Reagan Democrats who would rather sit home than see another pal of Big Government and Wall Street pretend he stands for any of the things he’ll pretend he stands for during primary season. May as well have Hillary. Bc there’s not a shit ton of difference, and at least we don’t have to pretend she stands for things that we do.

On the positive side, Romney’s realization that he can’t reinvent himself as “authentic” opens the field up for Walker, Rubio, Paul, Cruz, Carson, Kasich, and even Santorum, the latter two of whom seem to have the ear of Reagan Democrats, even as in the case of Santorum he infuriates the hardcore “progressive” left whose voice is outsized compared to its electoral numbers.

Of course, the left will do everything they can to steal any election (hi, Al Franken! Have enough last-minute ballots stashed away somewhere?), so there’s always that concern. But who knows? Maybe they’ll be too caught up in destroying Israel and rigging their elections to get their ground game going early here at home this time.

Fingers crossed!

****
nb: if, say, a conservative takes the lead in the primaries, I still believe Mitt will “reluctantly” join the fray, to rescue us from ourselves. I believe he believes Bush and Christie will be drummed out earlier than expected, and once they leave, he’ll swoop in and take their “grown-up” role in the field.

Just speculation on my part. But Romney is about Romney. And Mitt wants to be President so badly he can taste it. Which is what happens when you spend all your time kissing asses.

As much as I like Carson he’s soft on the 2nd amendment and gentlemanly evasive about just how soft so… I dunno.

Huckabee will make a show of listening to the Christians in the party but he’s got a record of being a bridge building bipartisan big-spending uncle so that’s no good.

I like Santorum as a “fuck you Mitt” but he’s also a big spender and he’d need to bend the knee and solemnly swear some oaths out about what he’s going to Washington to do before I’d hand him the conservative standard.

I don’t much trust rand Paul and we need him in the senate with Cruz.

Rubio’s fake skin fell off revealing him as a reptile.

Jindal is already pre-marked for destruction by the press as calling for a Jesus-land lead muslim genocide and he’d not be stern enough in rebuttal to escape it. He’s also been flaky lately.

No one has heard of Jeff flake.

We need Cruz in the senate and he’s developed a hand-chopping-motion habit when speaking that will probably lose him the debates as people get tired of the issues and turn to superficial things to score them on like cowlicks.

Trey Gowdy is the mean girl of congress to the press and his accent makes him easy to put in a “not presidential” box. Being a new comer he might not get out. And he supported Boehner.

Trump…hah ha ha h haaaa. Oh that’s good one. He’s a democrat and a carnival barker.

Rick Perry can’t get judges to throw out a really obviously self evidently dumb and dangerous case so…confidence is not inspired.

SMOD….pudding cups flaming skull lol. Ewoks. Then shrill fear of anything the tea party says. THEOCRAT

Add to that I’m not feeling very GOP anymore and the long third party road is the only one open to us…

The GOPy have a lot of selling to do. A LOT OF SELLING. And a revelation on the road to damascus or two.

Fortunately Christie has no shot–he is too damaged and too damn fat. My prediction (hope) is Bush goes no where in the primaries despite probable support from Mitt–but I cannot count out the GOP “leadership” fucking things up.

The candidate who could put a viable opposition to the Democrats is Scott Walker.

  3. bgbear says:

Stop letting the press choose your candidates.

  4. Darleen says:

I’ve never been a Huckabee fan for President … he’s too much a “Government to the rescue” guy.

But it is interesting to note that the Democrat machine aka Lamestream media immediately produced lying headlines about him calling women who swear “trashy” when he didn’t …

Leftists don’t want to take a chance on any non-Leftist and are shooting to kill from the beginning.

Look at the savaging of Joni Ernst.

  6. Squid says:

The benchmark by which I measure every potential candidate is “Would I vote for this guy over Mike Rowe?” We’ll see if any party gives me a reason to consider the question closely.

  7. Jeff G. says:

I may just vote for Palin so an Ewok explodes.

  8. McGehee says:

Mitt, Jeb and Krispy are non-starters. The ‘Stabs will unite behind some name-rec deep pockets guy with no known political history, who just happens to be willing to register Republican for the campaign.

    He’ll be Inevitable.

  9. Darleen says:

“Call me Senator” Babs Boxer won’t run … but in California’s open primary only the top two vote getters will be on the November ballot.

To show you the dismal state of non-Leftists here, there is serious talk floating around about GOP getting behind whatever “moderate” Democrat runs against the far-Left moonbat Kamala Harris.

  10. bgbear says:

I had the perverse idea that it would not be so bad to get Kamala Harris out of CA and in DC. What she going to do in DC, vote the same as Boxer?

(this is all based on the idea that a democrat will replace boxer, of course I would prefer a true conservative in the seat).

  11. cranky-d says:

I’m with Squid, but I would vote for Palin.

Still, SMoD is still the best candidate.

  12. happyfeet says:

bush needs to be drummed out but not early early

vanquishing this odious hyper-entitled fuck will powerfully differentiate Team R from the fascists suckling at legacy bitch Hillary’s historical if dessicated old lady boobies

it’s a gift horse whose mouth nobody needs to open up and examine closely

    Just speculation on my part.

I was watching “Outnumbered” on FNC and one of the ladies speculated the same, then the other ones all said nonono, if he’s going to run he needs to start setting up his people and get his fundraising and whatnot up and running now.

Then they turned right around and agreed there was no problems over Shrillary waiting til July to announce.

My own feeling is he’s out, thank goodness.

  14. serr8d says:

Scott Walker is formidable, not only to the Democrats (he’s established that often enough) but to primary foes. He’s proven he can wipe the floor with his opponents. He’s racked up death threats from the Left. He’s not scared of Dems or Establicans. I don’t know his deep thoughts on things, I just like his style.

Jeb Bush, a pansy saddled with That Unelectable Name, is unelectable. Christie’s tough enough, has won a few mean races, but he doesn’t strike me as charismatic enough to sway a mass of necessary voters. And he’s failed the #2A test.

Jindal has no energy, he will fizzle. Same fate for Rand Paul and, later, Marco Rubio, who has a good-looking family.

Ted Cruz is the lightnings in a bottle. I’d prefer him over Walker. But he faces hatreds and attacks from both camps of the Ruling Class (F-U John McCain).

Walker – Cruz 2016, is my early fixation.
