“Missouri State Fair imposes lifetime ban on Obama mask-wearing rodeo clown”

Some things just can’t be tolerated, speech or no speech. But feel free to burn a flag. While wearing your Nixon mask. Or your Reagan mask. Or either of your Bush masks. And your Che Guevera shirt. To make a statement about the duality of man.

In fact, fuck it: strap those masks onto some paper mache doll, put horns and a Hitler mustache on it, and then hang the creation in effigy! Make movies about their assassinations, and how those events — though you naturally condemn them in real life — would, you have to grudgingly posit, have changed the course of history for the better, leading to a world free of nuclear weapons and built on an egalitarian foundation of managed homogeneity — which brings peace, economic bliss, and a more tolerant world along with it.

— Provided the progressives get to run it, and don’t have to be part of the teeming masses they’ll have to lead. The poor, dumb sheep.

Because protesting Republican presidents is patriotic dissent. I know, because I spent 8 years being lectured about it.

Whereas poking fun at Obama? That’s practically the same as the murder of Emmett Till or the assassination of MLK Jr. Only worse, really, because this time, Democrats wouldn’t be responsible — and besides: historic.

Thus, such hatred must be condemned full-throatedly, even at great personal cost, because we can no longer allow ourselves to be tolerant of intolerance. We must steadfastly, instead, remain intolerant of intolerance, even if that means we ourselves display an ironic intolerance and, in our high dudgeon, eschew tolerance all together!

Because that’s the American way!

-….and as is the perogative of the righteous if you have the need for a little “rampent racism” at any given moment then by all means “find” it as neccessary, because everyone knows you can’t make a movie promotional omelet without breaking a few white crackah sales clerks.

    #Legacymedia – ::spit::

What about sanctions for the novelty company that made the mask?

Where can I buy the mask?

I guess Missouri just showed us all how it is to be done in the new improved future.

Let us all now progress into the state of misery.

Crushing another job out like a cigarette butt. Way to go, libs.

    Where’s the ACLU on this?

  7. leigh says:

    They’re busy. I guess.

  8. BigBangHunter says:

    Where’s the ACLU on this?

    – Still very very busy not defending Snowden.

  9. BigBangHunter says:

    – The “selective outrage” of the Left has become institutionalized.

  10. bgbear says:

Obama should stick his nose into this issue and “pardon” the clown.

  11. nshumate says:

Those masks should be the conservative/Tea Party analog to those damned OCCUPY Fawkes masks.

When politicians forget the First Amendment, it is time for the People to remember the Second.

Everybody loves a clown, so why don’t you?
Everybody laughs at the things I say and do
They all laugh when they see me comin’

But you don’t laugh, you just go home runnin’
Everybody loves a clown, so why can’t you?
    A clown has feelings, too

  14. George Orwell says:

    Via Washington Times:

In the wake of a rodeo clown’s anti-Obama skit this weekend, the Missouri State Fair is forcing all clowns to undergo sensitivity training.

The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify the decision to ban the clown in question who wore an Obama mask as the rodeo announcer asked if the crowd wanted to see him get run down by a bull. The crowd enthusiastically approved, according to local media reports.

Why, those filthy racist Missourians. Send ’em to the camps for reeducation.

Clowns, undergoing sensitivity training. You may now divide by zero.

  15. leigh says:

I think sdferr has the right idea with making the Obama Rodeo Clown costume of choice this Hallowe’en.

  16. Merovign says:

They have altered the deal. Pray they do not alter it further.

When I say “altered the deal” I of course mean “never gave a damn about rules, laws, or anything but the power to control and destroy.”

  17. sdferr says:

That was McG’s idea leigh, not mine, though I don’t disagree with it. I only suffered from a brief fugal episode otherwise.

  18. George Orwell says:

Now, the president of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, who also acted as the announcer during the event, has resigned, as well. Not because he is complicit, his lawyer says, but as an act of protest that the clown is still a member of their organization.

So. I guess clowns are evil. At least those who mock the Dictator.

  19. leigh says:

Ah. I knew it was one of you. It’s a great idea.

  20. batboy says:

For one or another reason, the Democrat public face turned grim right around the time Hillary! turned Democrat.

I’m not quite sure how this fits, but remember that third time is enemy action.

  21. Libby says:

Once again, one comment from Obama could have stopped this – something like Bush said when asked about the Dixie Chicks controversy: “That’s what so great about this country, people are free to say whatever they want.”

It’s bad enough that there are people demanding the clown’s head for mocking Obama, but it’s worse that the president gives his tacit approval by not injecting a little sanity by asking them to just chill out.

    Hilarity on the Twitter: #MockObamaDay

  23. McGehee says:

I’m pretty sure no one bothers to ask him. He had to say the right thing once, didn’t like it, and had the word put out that it shall never happen again.

  24. McGehee says:

I refuse to limit my Obamockery to just one day.

  25. leigh says:

    Hear, hear McGehee.

  26. serr8d says:

Why should anyone bother to #MockObamaDay, you ask?

NAACP: DOJ, Secret Service Should Investigate Rodeo Clown

Anyone who figureheads that sort of slavish, boot-licking sycophant needs mocking. And quickly, before it all goes to his head.

    wait..

    – Apparently tar babies are equal opportunity.

    – I don’t think this will end well for the fat bitch.

  30. serr8d says:

    OK, it’s over. #MockObamaDay has a threadwinner.

  31. sdferr says:

Speaking of mocking, Latma is done waiting (done run out of shekels waiting to get on government tv). Smaller, we can hope, will be better. Meantime, there’s some good Obazma mockery in the video review.

  32. newrouter says:

    need a #mocknaacp

  33. newrouter says:

    though this is amusing

“In the 2004 novella “Checkpoint,” author Nicholson Baker depicted a conversation between two men planning to assassinate Bush. “He’s one dead armadillo,” says one character, speaking of the president. The Washington Post was impressed by the book’s “fanciful flourishes and fierce, furious fits of anger.” Baker was not banned from anything and is still writing and being published today.

  34. Blitz says:

You know? that reminds me of something. can’t quite put my finger on it….Wow, where have I seen that before?

I think it may have been my imagination? Like about 12 years ago to start? But then again? I do drink, so this could all be a bad dream!!!

    Yes, that must be it.

who else hates black people besides rodeo clowns is Switzerland

  36. palaeomerus says:

Time to boycott the utter shit out of the Missouri state fair and regularly tell people how shitty it is now.

  37. Shtetl G says:

I remember when the ACLU were champions of free speech and would defend even the despicable. Who am I kidding? I just remember their mythology and a shitty made for TV movie about Skokie. I’m glad they have standards these days because I’m sure banning making fun of a Democratic president is a hidden penumbra the supreme court found in the living breathing constitution.

  38. Jim in KC says:

The local rag sure had their outrage machine dialed up to eleven, maybe even twelve. And then they turned off comments on all of their silly posts about how outrageous(!) it was to mock HRH Barack the First, so no one could respond.

    Controlling the narrative.
