Harry Reid: opportunistic ghoul

Yes, you’ve all heard by now about the Senate Majority Leader’s having taken to the Senate floor to tie the deaths of 7 Marines to the sequester in a display of contemptible opportunism and pure partisan politicking that, were we still a sane and functioning republic, would leave every last remaining honest citizen — of either party — with the mental image of a pantless, blood-soaked Reid in rubber thigh-high waders, slithering amid the gore of those killed in a training accident while tugging violently at his shriveled up old pecker.

Then again, were we still a sane and functioning Republic, some of our major “news” organizations wouldn’t be trying to hide Reid’s behavior in order to give cover to the Democrats.

Marine officials have very pointedly fired back at Senator Death Mask, denying the sequester had anything at all to do with the training accident, which was planned months in advance; in fact, one spokesman went so far as to call Reid’s floor speech “nothing but pure political posturing on the backs of these dead Marines.”

What he didn’t call it, notably, was “surprising.”  Whether it’s dead children or dead Marines, the opportunists will frolic about in their blood if they believe that doing so will position them to take more power, or to win some political point.

This is who they are.  This is what they do.

But rather than waking up to it, the GOP establishment is desiring more “bi-partisan” compromises with these intractable ideologues — leaving no one to represent conservatives, who, by a significant margin, make up the majority of Americans who self-identify politically.

This is not by accident.   The ruling class no longer needs to represent its constituencies.  And that’s because they are colluding as a one-party statist enterprise, and we are both their subjects and their prey.

  1. First I heard of Reid waving that bluidy sark was somebody’s retort that if his Senate had passed budgets in the last four years there wouldn’t have been a sequester.

  2. JD says:

It shouldnt surprise me that the MFM hides this contemptible behavior from pubic consumption. Even his own staff in their youtube video cut off the clip before his ghoulish comments.

  3. Matt says:

Republicans should have pelted the Crypt Keeper with rotten fruit while he was talking. I love how Reid claims the Republicans are making political hay out of this, when his wrinkly undead ass is the one bringing it up. THe people in Nevada, who re-elect this jackwagon, are quite possibly the stupidest people on earth.

Somebody needs to go Preston Brooks on his Charles Sumner ass.

I’d say Rand Paul or Ted Cruz would accomodate (Of course Senator Cruz has shown himself not to be above hitting girls).

  7. I dunno. I think ghoul is close, but not quite right. Nazgul might be a better term for the thing that used to be the man Harry Reid.

  8. JD says:

In the Chamber of Comity, did even one of those Senators call him out on this?

  9. bgbear says:

I agree that somehow Reid was trying to connect the training accident to sequester but, I listened to the audio and honestly could not make anything out of what Reid was saying. I mean his defense could be that he was too senile to make such an absurd implication.

    Meh.

Back when we first went back to Iraq after 9/11 and the ‘progressives’ were dry humping every dead soldier story until the ink permanently stained their patriarchically stunted genitalia, I spoke to deaf ears asking why they weren’t concerned about the training deaths of my fellow soldiers from the previous years, which far outstretched the number of deaths in the theater.

Soldiers are useful to the progressives only when they’re dead and even then, only if that death serves as a handy political cudgel to bounce off their opposition’s faces.

  15. cranky-d says:

When progressives do stuff like this, what they are really doing is calling attention to what they believe we care about and using it as a cudgel against us. They don’t care about the deaths of soldiers, they don’t care about religion, and they don’t care about principles. They only care about power and how to wrestle it from the rest of us.

  16. Squid says:

Soldiers are useful to the progressives only when they’re dead…

That’s not true! We love our soldiers, even ifespecially when they’re still alive. For instance, we love to label them BABYKILLERS and pretend that they are deranged nationalist dead-ender killbots! Also, a lot of their general staff go political in their old age, and provide us with really stellar moral authority for whatever it is we’re trying to do to the military at the moment.

See? You couldn’t be more wrong!

Perhaps. But so does assuming that he never had a soul.

I think it best explains the situation: Like the Nazgul, Reid has been seduced by power, but now is only an empty shell, a puppet of the power that seduced him.

Or perhaps he’s more like Voldemort, as revealed in the King’s Cross scene near the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, having a only a pathetic and repulsive fragment of a soul left.

At any rate, the most frightening aspect of this is that he is what he is because he chose it.

I hope he doesn’t get his human rights all violated. Or does this only happen in Britain?

  28. But so does assuming that he never had a soul.

I assume neither. Frankly, to me it’s immaterial either way.

    Heh.

  29. Squid says:

I’ve never understood why any civilized society feels it must bend over backward to adhere to the religious laws of people who’ve proven they have no respect for that society’s secular laws.
