“US-commanded MFO in Sinai under attack — dead reported in compound”

From Caroline Glick:

Israel media  – Channel 2 – just reported that the US-commanded Multi-National Force Observors headquarters in the Sinai is under assault. Salafists laid seige to the building this afternoon and some 50 armed men stormed it. There is fighting going on in the building and there are dead inside.  The MFO is the force that was established under the Israel-Egypt peace treaty. It is charged with guaranteeing the demilitarization of the Sinai.

The MFO has two bases. I believe that the one under attack is in northern Sinai, built on an old Israeli Air Force base.

The MFO has come under attack several times since the outset of the US-supported Islamic revolution there. The US approved and forced Israel to accept the deployment of Egyptian tanks in the Sinai some weeks ago as part of a much touted counterterror offensive of the Egyptian military. Its results were inconclusive but at Israel’s insistence, the tanks were removed a couple weeks ago. Egyptian President Morsi supports the remilitarization of the Sinai. It is hard not to see the strategic implications of this attack on the MFO.

Probably a bunch of lies put out by that billionaire Sheldon Whatshisface.  “Sheldon” sounds very Jew, after all, doesn’t it?  So I wouldn’t put too much stock in reports like these.  Just send Barack Obama your beer and pizza money and he’ll make all the unsettling noises go away — and let you get back to your XBox and your reality TV.

Hope and Change!  Forward!

ok I haven’t been able to watch much news today but what I’m gathering is

#1. This has nothing to do with a Mohammed video
#2. This is a coordinated attack on our embassies in the Middle East

and so far the response has been… ??

  2. William says:

And of course today in Dallas I see like 10 Obama bumper stickers driving into work.

At least they haven’t hit us with “We can’t possible risk an Administration change right now,” yet.

  3. cranky-d says:

We’re going to have a new war, aren’t we? It’s almost all due to our president’s complete lack of feck. And, of course, because he thinks the U.S.A. needs a good talking to and a timeout.

    Critical video reviews.

this reminders me of something I saw at National Soros Radio the other day

“The vast majority of Muslims would definitely be offended by the movie, but I don’t think the vast majority of people support to any degree the notion that the US ambassador should be targeted,” Mohamed Younis, a senior analyst at the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, told the Monitor. “In Egypt, there’s an overwhelming majority of people who say you cannot target civilians, and similarly in Libya, we don’t see any overwhelming support for the idea that [blaspheming the Prophet should lead to] targeting and killing civilians.”

    We are so fucking screwed.

Bad things happen when irresponsible bigots abuse their right to free speech in order to insult the religious beliefs of others in a movie which we the government had nothing to do with and so this has nothing to do with us they’re mad at the bigots whose fault this is not us please let us alone to eat our waffle.

Carney says so, so it must be true!

  11. palaeomerus says:

Man, have you seen the price of arugula at the whole Foods lately? I bet that Mitt Romney guy with a garage in his elevator doesn’t know the price of Arugula.

It’s the same war. Just because we get bored with it and stop fighting to go do something else for a while, doesn’t mean they ever stop.

  13. BigBangHunter says:

    – And so, even as we watch Obama bury one mistake, almost certainly due to a total lack of leadership and a clear show of weakness at every turn to our enemies, we now see even more events unfolding.

    – People always die when the statists take power, and this time will be no different.

    – Its a wonder Natenyahu doesn’t just come right out and publicly call Obama a pussy.

  14. William says:

Exactly. These people are dying because we’re too busy obsessing over drinking our New York size cokes with our pinkies raised.

I would pay lots of money to see that.. how sweet would that be

  16. cranky-d says:

Yeah, I know, Ernst. It’s just that when the war isn’t hot we get to pretend it isn’t happening, and can concentrate on Dr. Who or Burn Notice or other distractions like that.

I’d like to see a swift and decisive stomping. No occupation afterwards, just a butt wuppin’.

  17. BigBangHunter says:

    – You may yet get your wish misfixit, because you can bet the house that Bibi isn’t going to let Israel get punked because of Obama’s foriegn policy idiocies.

    – If the attacks continue to spread Israel is going to act.

  18. BigBangHunter says:

    – Obama’s and Hillery’s state department springs into action…..

    – Well, at least they’ll have a more efficient ,eans for recieving the bodies.

  19. Squid says:

    Nice, BBH.

The State Department has gone into full-blown crisis mode, organizing a round-the-clock effort to coordinate the U.S. government’s response to the expanding attacks on U.S. embassies in the Middle East and North Africa.

“The State Department has stood up a 24-hr monitoring team to insure appropriate coordination of information and our response.

Just look at our history, and all the glorious battles that we’ve won with our 24-hour monitoring teams. Why, those jihadis won’t know what hit ’em, once our professional monitoring teams coordinate a response. I mean, those Tweets can leave a mark!

Hill, you bitch, if you had a shred of decency you’d resign.

  21. B Moe says:

Maybe there was a real reason Obama and Pelosi couldn’t figure out if Egypt was an ally or not, huh?

I think the creature is loose, now. The whole region will be up in flames soon.

  22. Ernst Schreiber says:

We should start a pool. Should the balloon go up, who will be the first libtard douche to suggest that we should delay the election (because this time, it’s different from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, GWOT)? What libtard douche forum will the libtard douche’s opinion appear in?

  23. palaeomerus says:

“Nothing like closing the barn door after the horse is gone, is there?”

She’s closing the barn door 20,000 years after horses went extinct. We just did DOUBLE Iran 33 years after iran. The stupid on display here is so immense it is hard to calculate.

Those who think violence won’t solve this problem are clueless. Violence is the only thing that will solve it.

Anyone who clings to the historically untrue — and — thoroughly immoral doctrine that violence never solves anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler would referee. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor; and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms.
    — Robert Heinlein

Total collapse of the Middle East will cut off energy supplies to a goodly part of Europe and Asia right when the EU is already on the ropes. US banks are deeper into Europe than they’d care to admit. The whole world’s economic house of cards is looking a little more shaky by the day and a hard wind is coming. Just when we need strong leadership we’ve got an empty suit in an empty chair supported by a lot of empty-headed people. It’s hard to find reason for optimism, but it’s easy to find reason to stock up on beans and bullets.

    Interesting times we live in.
