The New Civility, 40 [UPDATED]

“Dem Rep to unions: Time to get ‘bloody’”:

A Democratic Congressman from Massachusetts is raising the stakes in the nation’s fight over the future of public employee unions, saying emails aren’t enough to show support and that it is time to “get a little bloody.”

[…]

This is not Capuano’s first brush with violent rhetoric. Last month Capuano said, “Politicians, I think are too bland today. I don’t know what they believe in. Nothing wrong with throwing a coffee cup at someone if you’re doing it for human rights.”

— or sticking Jews and fags in industrial-sized pizza ovens, if you’re doing it to purify the motherland.

What? Too soon?

At any rate, this kind of rhetoric is hardly surprising. Obama and his like rely as a rule on the basic decency of those they target for mau mauing; otherwise, their bullying tactics wouldn’t work.

But the times, they are a-changing. And a length of pipe beats a placard, a poncho, and a dirty wool skull cap every time.

Just sayin’.

I think this bird may be surprised at how incorrect his use of “a little” is, if they really do keep pushing like this.

After all, is a union thug not human? If you spurn him, does he not weep? If you gut him, does he not flop on the ground like a fish?

  2. Joe says:

The worse sort of tyrany is the form done for “good” intentions. It also helps when you can define good anyway you want.

  3. cranky-d says:

They need to keep up appearances. The have their reputation as thugs to protect, and they’re going a good job so far.

SEIU releases a new song: “Take the bastards down!”

It’s a hoedown! Hurry and listen before they take it down in embarrassment, now that it’s been heard on Glenn Beck.

  6. geoffb says:

The band, in a statement released today, said,

“[We] would like to take a moment to acknowledge the struggles of the working people of Wisconsin and to pledge our support and solidarity by releasing the song ‘Take Em Down’ from our upcoming album. We think it’s appropriate at the moment and hope you like it… The Dropkick Murphys Stand With Wisconsin!!!!!”

This is just to inform everyone of the who that is being talked about whenever you hear the term “working people” or “working families” come out of the mouth of a Democrat. The only “working” ones are the government union people. That is the meaning that is meant but not the false implication you are intended to see in your own mind’s eye.

  7. zino3 says:

I love the “Dropkick Murphy” illustration for “Take ’em Down”. Straight out of mid-20th century Eastern Europe, or maybe the USSR.

Yup. Cut off your own nose to spite your face…

  8. Obstreperous Infidel says:

zino3, I have no idea who the dropkick murphys are, but am willing to guess that they are too freaking stupid to do anything like that purposely.

As for the asshole from Mass, come and get some, bitch.

The Dropkick Murphy’s know three chords.

My oh my, I wonder when the MBM, who are so terribly concerned about violent and heated rhetoric in our politics today, are going to be all over this guy?

    I don’t plan on holding my breath…

They’ve been conspicuously absent this past week in their reportage of the protests in WI; despite the fact that all of the necessary elements are present, in the fore, and in quantities too large to ignore. Unless, of course, your agenda isn’t reporting the news, but instead furthering the aims of you allies on the progressive left.

All these things are good to remember, the next time they start getting the vapors and start wailing, “CIVILITY NOW!”

In an attempt to follow their European counterparts, public-sector unions in Wisconsin are endorsing a call for a general strike if Governor Scott Walker’s plan passes and is signed into law.

  12. geoffb says:

Today, we learn that top AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka is visiting the White House two to three times per week and speaking with someone in the White House everyday.

Gee, what if all us private sector people decide to stop work too. See who blinks first.

You’d think this guy knew enough about union history to know that the problem with union activism getting a little bloody is it’s not always the other guy’s blood.

This is Tabitha Hale, a young conservative activist/original Tea Party organizer/blogger who works for Washington, D.C.-based FreedomWorks. I know her from her great grass-roots work with Smart Girl Politics when the Tea Party movement was just emerging.

Today, Big Labor groups took their Grievance March to the offices of FreedomWorks.

Among the groups protesting: the Communications Workers of America. They’re one of the heavyweight labor biggies that have received a coveted Obamacare Waiver for Favors. CWA facts here.

This is one of the CWA t-shirt-wearing goons who showed up at the protest at FreedomWorks today:

And this is what the CWA t-shirt-wearing goon did to Tabitha Hale. Watch:
