Evidently, one of Obama’s takeaways from last night’s rebuke to his unappetizing political porridge of socialism/liberal fascism/crony-capitalism is that Americans simply long for the “promotion” of a “clean energy economy.”
Cap and trade.
Back to work, all you little peoples, with your stink of ordinariness and your bitter clingatude. Cloward-Piven won’t rest, and neither should you.
You have just got to be kidding me.
Yep, we threw out a whole mob of Ds because we thought the Rs replacing them would get us to a clean energy economy with a great deal more verve.
Srsly, WTF?
Okay, let’s start with building a truckload of nuclear plants. No carbon emissions there.
I’d love to be a blackjack dealer with Obama at my table. The only play he knows is “double-down”.
I’m being unhelpful, I realize.
Obama is almost certainly going to become the centrist moderate pragmatist we were always told he would be.
And we purists should shut our unsophisticated pieholes and let the real thinkers do the thinking.
I plan on being incredibly unhelpful. Obama will not budge one iota. His plan is to keep on keepin’ on and paint the GOP as obstructionist. The GOP needs to send a clear message on who is causing the problem, and not be pussies about it.
We’ll see how that turns out.
He pretty much just said “Yeah we’ll try some more cap & trade legislation (surprised he didn’t laugh), but when I’m told ‘no’, I’m basically just gonna shit-can what’s left of the economy through regulation and, America, your new congress can’t do squat about it”.
The EPA is about to become 3 x the Dept. Of Energy.
Good! I like the out-of-touch, let-them-eat-lowfat-carb-free-cake, Obama. That arrogance, in part, is what brought us last night’s results.
Wait ’til he starts instituting his agenda via executive order, depending on the court to legislate from the bench what he could never get throught the Legislature. Imagine when l’empereur starts doing that. What do you think all of the recently awakened constitutionally aware voters will make of that? And how do you think the Obamapologists will spin his end run around the people’s representatives?
‘Cuz, “I Won!”, isn’t a selection on the spin parade, and the Eugene Robinsons of the MFM have worn out the race card…
This is what he is. This is what he’s surrounded by. He has no compass, so he’s just going to wander along the same path until he’s so deep in the woods that he gets sodomized by hillfolk who like his perty mouth.
Actually, Congress can do something about the regulatory state.
Defund it.
Yup. Fortunately, “kooks” and “extremists” like Mark Levin are going to make the EPA their number one target over the next couple years, I’d bet.
Reminded me of Hitler’s narcissistic ramblings in the bunker. He just doesn’t get it. Never will.
If he’s lost Maureen Dowd, then…
Obama says he “rejects the idea that his policies have taken the country in reverse”.
And we’re to compromise with him?
Screw that.
There isn’t any compromise with fascism. You simply stop it, any way you can.
Policies implemented through lame-duck legislation and Executive Orders seem like the surest way of putting the Dems into the wilderness for at least a generation. Can you imagine Election Night 2012 if we get more of this bullshit crammed down our throats in the meantime?
I didn’t listen. Did he sound like a “good man”?
That first question from the AP guy was surprisingly direct.
Hugo Fuckin’ Chavez..except without the charm.
The House needs to keep a spotlight on this fuckwit and help CRUSH him in 2012 – crush him so bad that the GOP could run a ham sammich for Prez – and the ham sammich wins every state and the popular vote by 30 points.
Guaranteed Obama will do his part to make this a reality – he already told us.
Oh, sorry California, there is no hope for you. Your state has died of cancer, the body is just decomposing in the emergency room – off to the cemetery with you.
You’d think after New York and Massachusetts went Republican that…
Oh, wait.
This is the guy that called us his enemy last week.
And here I thought yesterday was my cracker Christmas. I’ve been saying all along that Obama didn’t have it in him to respond to a ballot-box thrashing the way Clinton did after 1994, but part of that was wishful thinking.
I should’ve known better. I was saying all during 2008 he shouldn’t be elected President because he wasn’t up to the job. What’s the male version of the name “Cassandra”…?
I’d go with Kasandros, but I’m just an ignorant rube.
We could call you Kos, for short.
Obama says he’s willing to “compromise”. Which, of course, means he’s willing to have the Republicans cave on his agenda. “Message received” simply means he’s ready to include more Republican moderates on his dumbass agenda.
(( What’s the male version of the name “Cassandra”…? ))
Chalres Jonhsno ??
The economy has received, you are all just too stupid to know iit or feel it yet. Plus, I lowered your taxes. And I heard your message, we should work together, not obstruct my agenda.
Auto spell check sucks. Recovered, not received.
That would be appropriate, since you sure wouldn’t call me that for long.
Feds announce $600,000,000,000 of new bonding between now and mid-2011. $75,000,000,000 a month. Fuckers did not hear one word.
And Stephanie?
<gives THE LOOK>
Feds announce $600,000,000,000 of new bonding between now and mid-2011.
World announces plans for new reserve currency. Will 2012 be too late?
Exactly right, Mr. Soiled.
There’s been a rash of op/eds in the local news rags that are to the effect of:
a) see what your temper tantrum has wrought, little children: gridlock, and
b) gridlock is a bad thing, because the country can’t move forward unless …
Unless what?
It never seems to occur to these pencil necked geeks that someone other than conservatives are supposed to reach across the aisle. It is never a thought in their tiny one-celled pinheads that maybe they need to change their tune. Oh no,you see, its the conservatives who are forever to be kowtowing to the lefturds. Because, you see, the conservatives only “won” because the voters “this time around” (unlike, say in 2008) acted immature and stupid, or, weren’t the right skin color or sexual orientation (per Will Bunch in the Philly Daily News).
Squid – outside of being good for consumer mortgage rates in the short term, what the fuck were they thinking?! Never mind.
Is Bernanke really Piven, or is he Cloward? I can never tell.
$600,000,000,000, or $75,000,000,000 per month out of thin air. Pretty soon they will be paying people to borrow.
I hope everyone has a place to go when it hits the fan.
Memo to Barack:
You lost.
Signed,
America
And your wallet will require wheels.
The Fed doesn’t care about elections. Yet. I think the Tea Party should add a plank to its delightfully sparse platform: Audit everything. Starting with the Fed.
Trust, butverify. You can be sure that with Ron Paul taking over as chair of the house banking committee, that a fed audit will at minimum be a subject of intense discussion.
You can take that, ahem, to the bank…
He can throw all the garbage legislation out there that he wants, but without Pelosi to make it into sausage, it will die a lonely death.
The House needs to just keep sending bills to his veto pen and simple point out the fact. The Senate can watch paint dry on the wall for the next 3 years, they are quite inconsequential.
You can take that, ahem, to the bank…
That should be a CSI Miami comic, right there.
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Treasury – hell – just abolish them all – and throw some people in jail.
WTF Barny Frank gets re-elected? WTF?
You are all racists for not listening to the great orator! OMFG!
There is an interesting real life lab experiment setting up. How does a progressive legislature that repudiates all free market principles save a state from bankruptcy? California will tell us.
The federal government is not a good example. Because the Fed can print money, the federal government can remain in denial, buttressed by a Keynesian religion unconfused by reality.
But in California we have a whole nation sized state that must now squarely face reality, without the benefit of market philosophy to help them.
There is a freshman congressman who also seems to have what it takes to be part of these audits, Michael Grimm.
After hearing Obama denying that voters even had a moment of thought about his policies and were only voting out of fear of the economy, I’m trying to figure out who is winning in the barge race down the Nile? Barry or Jimmy Carter?
Barry can’t even attempt faux-humbleness. I bet he sneers at sweaters.
“Analysis: Voters tell the President to slow down”
– This is the typical way the Mediots are temporizing a large 2×4 in their Prog asses.
– Yes he’s going to double down, (has to try to hang onto at least his brain dead base),which will just make the fail that much sooner and deeper.
Who was the AP person that asked the first question, almost committed an act of journalism.
Okay. Having actually gone through the torture of getting a bit of alphabet soup after my name (not on my checks, nor on any credit cards, by the way).
I’ve got to weigh in on Obama’s personality/psychology:
I’ll be surprised if he’s got any kind of ability to learn anything. He belongs to a club that has done nothing–nothing–for its entire life but to tell itself that, as one commentator put it, it’s the best, brightest, and first at everything that it’s ever done. Think prom committee at your high school–that’s liberalism today. Hey! They became middle-aged and are now running things!
He’s ruined. And I mean that on the level of soul.
It’s not simply that he believes his own press. Clinton suffered from that for a time but woke up rather quickly enough that the reigns of power might be jerked away from him that he decided that he actually had to change his behavior. This was easy, since he didn’t really have any beliefs.
But Obama is a believer and he’s a most dangerous one–even his handlers don’t realize just how dangerous–in a religion that has annointed Him its Messiah. They might have done so–from Saul Alinsky onward–in the belief that he was a useful idiot. But he is proving them wrong. Even if he’s an idiot–so are they. Problem is, they have real power. That means that folks ought to be paying attention. In fact, folks ought to be doing stuff.
Robert Penn Warren wrote a novel that chronicles a similar kind of situation. Some of you might have read it.
What’s different about Obama is that unlike Warren’s main character, Obama is not even really a populist. He’s really an elitist–which itself is a false-category, philosophically speaking (from any point of view) and that makes him truly dangerous. Warren’s character at least has the virtue of believing in something and thinking that it was okay to destroy people in an effort to achieve a “greater good.” Elitests don’t believe that it’s okay to sacrifice people to achieve the greater good. They believe it’s okay to sacrifice the lessor in the achievement of their idea (which they assume is greater because it’s “theirs”).
We ought to be asking those democrats out of a job today what they think of the unemployment rate now. They lost their jobs directly as a result of supporting a president who could not give a flip about their re-election prospects. They signed on to his systemic change of American society without calculating that “being on the One’s side” did not guaruntee their own self-preservation. They castigated the real job-creators as cheats and thieves and capitalist pigs and now find that their own success depended upon their preserving the ability of SOMEONE to create wealth for them to spend for the rest of us. It’s a mystery to them how wealth is actually created. They know how to waste it and to get it to finance their own well-being; but they envy those who supply it to them. In fact, they hate them. There’s a whole new kind of Freudian Economic theory that might be developed out the penis envy that these people suffer–suck it, suck it, suck it and then cut it off, eat it, and then shit it out and pretend what you’ve produced can be re-sold at Walmart and people won’t notice that it’s crap. Put a smiley-face on the package and pretend that it’s something “new.”
Really–they are like French waiters who depend upon and yet hate Americans who enter their restuarants. They must serve us because we pay their bills–but they will do so while tea-bagging our drinks and spitting in our food before bringing it to the table and speaking French because we apparently don’t understand–even as they depend upon our tips for a living. They must hate that upon which they depend because they have no idea how to survive on their own (Mental Note: Cancel Trip to Paris for Next Year).
Obama cannot do more than what he did today–which is to blame his loss on our failure to understand his genius. If we only knew what was good for us we’d swallow but not cut off.
Keep swallowing, Ladies, he says–because after awhile the taste of pennies in your mouth is kind of comforting and good and warm and, well, rewarding.
He’s not capable of learning. Which is a function and a fruit of the leftist goal in education in the first place: take over education (of which Obama is the first real president/victim) and produce people who cannot think outside of the box you’ve constructed for them.
He’s incapable of believing anything outside of what was provided for him by his handlers.
He’s dangerous not because he will continue to operate as an automaton according to the “program” that programmed him–a kind of Manchurian Candidate, if you will–but because his handlers, ultimately, are wrong about the nature of human being. Hence, quite anything might happen at this point. Humans are free by nature. If you cage a free animal–even if he loves the steaks you feed him–he’s bound to go crazy at some point.
Hang on to your seats, folks. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Which is to say, in shorter form–Leftists love recycling, which always involves shit; Rightests prefer re-production, which always invoves participating the the creating of something “new.”
Good, gregorbo. Now tell it to Sean Coleman, who almost gets it.
Regards,
Ric
gregorbo is, of course, 100% correct. I’m still amazed by those who say (in writing, even!) that they didn’t think President Bumblefuck was this radical. Anyone with an ounce of curiosity (an attribute our lamestream media seem totally devoid of) would have found that Senator Emptysuit could not, and can not, be anything other than that which he has revealed himself to be-a radical, Marxist-Socialist, and anti-imperialist (thanks, Dinesh!). He is the original leftist teabag, steeped from birth in a foul stew of other radicals, marxists and black liberationists. He said himself that he sought these types out while in college, and then in Chicago. He is pathologically unable to consider ANY other view of the world, which will make the next two years, well, interesting. For all of us.
Worse, he’s an incurable narcissist. He will continue to blame everyone else for his failures, and those will be legion. I wouldn’t want to be around him in a couple years, and he gets booted.
Cheers, ric.
I’ll be surprised if he’s got any kind of ability to learn anything.
Well, he’s kicked off his next edjumacational sortie via hIs travelling freak show to India – kinda’ like intentionally going in “reverse” just to spite reality – and where, mark ye, the Ugly American shall surely live again!
It’s been a great ride for the Euro-trash Leftists, at the expense of Most of America, particularly the young, naive generations, all of whom will now begin to have too swallow that bitter pill that things always end badly for the occupants of pleasure island.
– For the OCS Progressives and faux elites, political obsession beat the hell out of washing your hand 300 times a day.
– Surely totalitarianism would work in the richest country in the world, and you know, that’s always been the problem before. Either the country was dirt poor like Cuba, or the Utopia was killed off like in Germany and Russia, because it was irrationally feared by the stupid, superstitious, backward masses, incapable of understanding the brilliance of the state plan.
Production, real wealth? Oh, I thought we just mass consumed. There’s this multiplier thing, and well, it absolutely can’t fail. *washing hands*
– Dangerous is too kind a word.
The two things we can count on from Obama and his minions are more voter fraud and union thuggery. That’s it.
Beyond Obama, and the white house, we should consider how others are going to act past this juncture. I think we we will see a bifurcation among those in the boni camp. Some will drift towards the newly ascendant right, trying to pretend that the ‘knew Obama all along.’ Although in one sense they are the least trustworthy of the two, having failed to notice the glaringly obvious. In a broader sense they are the mose tolerable – so long as we do not forget their names or fail to remind them of their woeful powers of perception.
The other group will try to facilitate whatever schemes the left uses to thwart the move back towards smaller government and fiscal sanity. They are the enemy within our camp and should be treated accordingly.
On a boat there are passengers and then there are anchors. Time to shed some anchors.
Good lord. I don’t practice psychiatry, but the definition of narcissist has a picture of Obama to illustrate the point.
