Other Targets of Recruiter Shooter [Dan Collins]

But remember, his crime was not as hateful as George Tiller’s executioner’s:

Also Wednesday, The Associated Press, also citing an unnamed official, said some of the sites searched and mapped out on Google were Jewish organizations, a child care center, a Baptist church, a post office and military recruiting centers in the southeastern U.S. and New York and Philadelphia.

After Monday’s attack outside the Army-Navy Career Center in Little Rock, detectives scoured a computer linked to Muhammad, where they said they discovered the research into multiple sites in different states.

The news of more targets allegedly found on Muhammad’s computer suggested that he may have been part of a larger attack plot and may not have been acting alone, a senior U.S. official told FOX earlier.

  2. JD says:

This is positively racist of you to point out, Dan.

I wonder if HuffPo and firedoglake have a post up about this today, in comparison to the 873 that they have posted in re. Tiller.

The abject dishonesty and mendacity of the MSM and the Leftists on this has been nothing short of breath-taking, and is useful as it provides an object lesson to how the Leftists and the MSM operated, since we have a contemporaneous event to compare it to.

Andrew Sullivan caused this killer to do what he did. Sullivan needs to repent.

First O’Reilly, then Sullivan, what is it with these big mouthed blabblering Irishmen stiring up trouble?

  5. JD says:

Heaven forbid they note that there was an actual terrorist attack on domestic soil.

  6. JD says:

Those 2 give Irish people a bad name …

  7. happyfeet says:

I remember when terrorists killing Americans used to be a big deal. It sort of peaked around the time I first saw that asian guy sing the She Bangs She Bangs song and it was so funny I sent it to all my friends. But after that the media got less and less concerned with the American-killing terrorists cause NPR and the Associated Press decided it was all about the politics of fear if you talked about it. That was when Bush was president. Michael Moore made a film and got Oscared for how he made Americans understand that when they get killed by terrorists it’s either cause of Bush or Jews but very likely both. oh. William Hung. But anyway for real it used to be a big deal. I still have my razor scooter.

  9. Abe Froman says:

Good of you to mention Michael Moore, hf. He was the most visible of lefties after 9/11 saying the mistake in attacking the World Trade Center was that it’s in a blue state and red state people are why Muslims hate us. So I guess this guy got it right. But I’m not expecting Moore to extend his argument because he’s too busy on his new fakeumentary about the eeeevils of that very same Manhattan neighborhood and how it was blue statey on 9/11 and became red statey when banks started failing. Or something. It’s so hard to keep up with teh leftards.

Now that I’ve gotten the snark out of my system, I’d just like to point out, once again as I did in an earlier thread, that what we had here was a successful terrorist attack on US soil…

Small Scale-yes, but a terrorist attack all the same. And he obviously planned a greater rampage than just that one recruiying center attack…

The evidence is as plain as the ears on O!s head…

And that, my friends, is the principle reason this story is being shunned like the plauge by both the President and his lap dog, sycophantic, fifth column, media…

    As Holmes often said to Dr. Watson;

“Elementary” and “The game is afoot!”

  22. Republican on Acid says:

Look, its all rather simple. An abortionist is far more important to BAAL because he may kill several thousand innocent babies.
A soldier however, he might be lucky to kill about 10 other people and most of them probably are not innocent. This does not
please BAAL. I would say the only person to murder that is worse in BAAL’s eyes (does he have eyes?) would be any random
thug dictator. I mean they kill innocents by the thousands as well.
Basically, if all of you conservatives would jump on the BAAL train all would become clear. And it’s ok, Jesus approves,
he and BAAL are friends. It’s in the Bible.

  23. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

This has roused a shit storm in Arkansas, and not what’d you think.

Not the toothless, prejudiced ‘necks and whatnot. They’re reaction is predictable. It’s the others. My folks retired there, I do business there, and there are more millionaires per ca pita in Arkansas than any of Obama’s other 57 states. They saw that interview with Pvt. Long’s father. It hit home. And it hit hard. Difference with the wealthy in states like Arkansas and Texas is the Range Rovers have gun racks and they’re more libertarian than straight up conservative.

Either way. Wrong state for a islamo-whackjob to shoot a combat soldier and recruiter.

And the Obama Admin ignores it.

    Most smartest President evah!

  31. Republican on Acid says:

    @28
Just being silly. Sometimes I like to think that all left wingers worship BAAL. He is an
ancient God worshiped by the Semetic tribes. The Carthaginian version was pretty brutal and
demanded human sacrifice, preferably babies. I think he was also known as El and Dagon from which
some people say is the root word for the devil via dragon.

  32. newrouter says:

didn’t BAAL have a franchise in mexico?

  33. Republican on Acid says:

  34. Stratfor is reporting that the FBI was asked to back off from investigations on black Muslims. Thus they weren’t keeping as close attention to this guy as they might have.

Good to know how true this is or not, it strikes me as plausible, given the Justice Department ordering the case against the Black Panthers to be dropped.

Assuming you’re alluding to the Tillman murder, I see that Hugh Hewlett made an emphatic point about how the right to life movement had to immediately distance itself from Tiller’s executioner, misscleo. The way I see it, he must have been referring to a pragmatic need to appease the left with rhetoric. Because the left will have nothing to do with listening to reason concerning the RtL movement’s actual principles.

On the other hand the RtL movement itself already knows murder is wrong; that’s its point.

So who was Hugh talking to? The deaf left? The moral RtL? The splinter RtL radicals? In other words, who are you talking to if not just to hear yourself prattle on about something you don’t begin to respect enough to ever bother actually comprehending it?

  88. Republican on Acid says:

Semancleo, I have dropped more acid, ate more mushrooms, and possibly more Peyote than anyone you have probably ever known.
At no point during any of those experiences did I ever consider myself a socialist. Or “progressive”, the reason for that is
simple; your track record is horrible. You are soul crushing and you attempt to destroy the individuals concern for him/herself
and replace it with worship of the state. On top of that you have shitty ethics. It seems that your kind will always run to the
defense of anything as long as it involves something you think will piss off some Christian. It’s getting really tired and old.
It as if the people of the 60’s and 70’s never really grew up. I mean sure, they got old, fat, and ugly – but they definitely grew
intensely more bitter and controlling. Republicans, may be more prone to Christianity, but so the fuck what?
You guys are more prone to poo poo dudes that murder people NOW in the name of their God. You are prone to consider the hammer and
sickle a fashion statement when REALLY it should be as despised as the swastika.

SO in that, although I consider myself Libertarian on many issues, I will always side with a conservative over a socialist
because at least the conservative usually isn’t secretly wishing to murder me because I don’t agree with him.

  89. Sammy says:

That’s the definition of libertarian – a republican that want’s to smoke pot.

  90. Republican on Acid says:

Wow, that was quite a statement. I think its safe to say that libertarians and Republicans have
always held hands in some regard concerning financial things – but I think the line is pretty much

  95. Pablo says:

Though I did enjoy having the Cards in the ’04 World series…

  96. Republican on Acid says:

Well, I stopped doing that kind of thing shortly after my oldest son was born. Was one of those decisions I made because I don’t
ever want to want to watch my kids grow up from prison.

I did get to try a few legal things while they were still legal though in the interim. I have also considered taking one of those
Ayahusca field trips, but can’t find anyone my age willing to do it. And that includes my Democrat buddies. I think they are chicken
shit. I think their “spirit guide” will come to them and show them that they can release the white guilt since they never personally
did anything to deserve the guilt and then what would they do with themselves?

  97. Crap, I thought Ford took some cash last year.

    me too.

and SarahW, I kinda understand the post office. There’s always a line and two or three people behind the counter, but only one of them is ever actually handling “customers”. The others mostly just shuffle papers and wander around looking like they might be looking for something in particular, but they never find it.

  98. Republican on Acid says:

Oh man, a Redsox fan! That was such a hopeless series. I used to have an excuse why the Cards did so poorly
but I don’t remember them anymore. I lost all interest in my pathetic excuses when they won the 2006 series.

In my young mind I really felt I was smarter than all of those guys anyway. I had serious delusions of grandeur. Possible
compensating for living with a horrible woman for far too many years. Then again, I just might have been a bit too wigged

  113. Republican on Acid says:

“There is nothing more pathetic and laughable than aging hipsters.”
I’ll go along with that as well. I recently met a person I hadn’t seen in about 20 years and this chick still
dressed the same. It was hideous, all that fat rolling out of that fake black leather bullshit.

And she was so “happy that America finally was going to elect a black man!” It was weird that was her fondest
thought to relate to me. I weighed that against all the republican people I know and not one of them ever
related to me how happy they were about ANY politician. That’s the thing with hip people. They are joiners. They
are the mushing together of years of social pressure to be “correct” and “consensus”. No grown human being should
be swayed by that kind of thing and yet time and time again they are.

  114. Republican on Acid says:

Cleo, you still haven’t proved your hipness. What exactly is it that makes you so hip?

  115. Pablo says:

There is nothing more decidedly retarded that someone on the internet claiming they are hip.

Yeah. I recommend avoiding that, for everyone. If you’re going to be anything, be cool.

send moles into her castle of the hip.

  121. Dash Rendar says:

    “castle of the hip”

Damn, I bet its one of the castles what have the secret passages for the extra hip club femur rooms. They have the good punch in those rooms and cleo wasn’t invited.

  122. Abe Froman says:

Where’d she go? I too want teh road map to hipness.

  123. geoffb says:

First rule of Hip Castle is you don’t talk about Hip Castle or else you get the bad koolaid.

  124. dash rendar says:

  126. Where’d she go? I too want teh road map to hipness.

  127. Republican on Acid says:

Is that a french castle? HOW HIP!?! Dude, that looks like a place Sufjan Stevens would make and album about Virginia. I mean what
    else can I say?

  128. JD says:

RoA – That was me as the Cardinals fan, the greatest franchise in the MLB.

  129. Topsecretk9 says:

Wow, this suspect sort just like fits right in with the general sentiment of Daily Kos and FireDogLake eh?

  130. Topsecretk9 says:

  131. Molon Labe says:

    You won’t believe this.

Welcome to the President Obama Cairo Speech SMS / Text Messaging Service.

“This service is not available in the United States”

  132. Joe says:

    Molon Labe: WTF?

  133. Molon Labe says:

PS: Hat tip to Fox News’ Red Eye. Awesome show.

  134. Rusty says:

    #79
    #92
God. You two are dense. You have no experience outside the narrative.

  135. Silver Whistle says:

I’ll tell you what is hip – this.

  136. B Moe says:

Comment by meya on 6/3 @ 10:09 pm

“Can’t we just realize that if you practice Islam, in this country, you either are the enemy, or you’re providing aid and comfort to the enemy?”

    Who are you quoting?

  137. Carin says:

Meya’s quoting long-time commenter, and PW regular Kyle. @ 9:31.

  138. B Moe says:

Silver Whistle is hip, by the way.

  139. B Moe says:

Meya’s quoting long-time commenter, and PW regular Kyle. @ 9:31.

Oh, so we are all Mobycrats now I suppose.

  140. Carin says:

Hey, I just want to make sure I get credit for being the first blogger to unearth the most recent Obama scandal – Lettucegate.

  141. Silver Whistle says:

B Moe, you are the man.

  142. Carin says:

“There is nothing more pathetic and laughable than aging hipsters.”

There’s nothing more pathetic than telling someone else how they should live their life. That’s just my 2 cents.

There’s hanging on to youth, which can be pathetic. Then there is just living and doing what you want. Some people can’t tell the difference.

The original statement just smacks of that “go away, older folks, it’s our time now” bullshit. I bristle. Youth is wasted on the young.

  143. Mr. Pink says:

Isn’t it hip to be square?

  144. serr8d says:

Old hipsters…damn, I don’t know many of those (as I crouch behind a boat on water toys, waiting for takeoff… )

  145. Mr. Pink says:

    150
WTF was that? Whoever wrote that needs to be slapped.

  146. serr8d says:

…in voting for a radically different avatar of American masculinity, we were, in a way, voting for Barack Obama to change us. Which is exactly what he’s doing.

Fuck dat. I’d rather grow a ponytail and be a real Charles Johnson horse’s ass.

  147. Mr. Pink says:

You know who else has a pony tail? Bill Ayers.

  148. alppuccino says:

It seems to me Carin, that on a ‘very special episode’ of Gilligan’s Island, a crate of experimental seeds washed up in the lagoon and the professor was able to grow veggies both quickly and gargantuanly.

    Hope this helps.

  149. alppuccino says:

I don’t know serr8d, during his speech, a fly landed on Obama’s forehead and he just left it there for a whole sentence. Then he flicked it away with his middle finger just as he was talking about Jews.

    That’s Tex Cobb-tough right there!

  150. sdferr says:

Obama’s Cairo speech text. We’re sorry, says Obama.

We meet at a time of great tension between the United States and Muslims around the world — tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate. The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars. More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations. Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.

  151. Joe says:

Carin, I went and looked at those early April pictures of Michelle planting her garden, and they may have served Krugman a salad of rosemary. A better herb for Krugman would have been wormswood.

  152. Rob Crawford says:

Ya’ll enjoy wasting your lives responding to ‘cleo?

  153. Rob Crawford says:

Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.

We are. We’re hostile towards slavery, clitorectomies, murdering rape victims, and buggering goats.

  154. LTC John says:

“The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars.”

Centuries of coexistence and cooperation? Which “centuries” were those? When I was getting my BA and MA in History, my main field was European and secondary was Middle Eastern. I don’t seem to recall much “coexistence and cooperation” from, oh, the time of Muhammad until, er, present.

  155. sdferr says:

Forgive us, we haven’t been ourselves, says Obama.

And finally, just as America can never tolerate violence by extremists, we must never alter or forget our principles. Nine-eleven was an enormous trauma to our country. The fear and anger that it provoked was understandable, but in some cases, it led us to act contrary to our traditions and our ideals. We are taking concrete actions to change course. I have unequivocally prohibited the use of torture by the United States, and I have ordered the prison at Guantanamo Bay closed by early next year.

  156. Rob Crawford says:

Centuries of coexistence and cooperation? Which “centuries” were those?

The ones between the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire and the founding of modern Turkey.

  157. Rob Crawford says:

Nine-eleven was an enormous trauma to our country. The fear and anger that it provoked was understandable, but in some cases, it led us to act contrary to our traditions and our ideals.

    He’s right, you know.

We failed to maintain our tradition of utterly extinguishing the murderous fucks who fly planes full of civilians into buildings full of civilians.

  158. LTC John says:

    Rob,

Indeed, except for that nasty little war Attaturk had vs. the Greeks…so, let us say the 1920s to 1931 or so, perhaps?

  159. Rob Crawford says:

    So maybe a decade?

It’s not really “centuries”. Maybe he’s talking about dog years? But wouldn’t that be an insult, given Islam’s attitude towards dogs?

  160. guinsPen says:

Men, here’s your future. Learn it. Deal.

In January, Barack Obama’s secretary of education, Arne Duncan, said something we’ve all been hearing (and rolling our eyes at) since the sixth grade: “Never before has being smart been so cool.” What sets this declaration apart is that—thanks to his boss—he is totally right.

Consider these scenarios, which would’ve had all the plausibility of a rain of frogs before No. 44 took office: Ashton Kutcher (when not Twittering his wife’s ass) discussing the intersection of technology and journalism on Larry King Live. Pete fucking Wentz guest-blogging about child soldiers on the Huffington Post. The star presidential speechwriter Jon Favreau dating a lad-mag pinup—and the lad-mag pinup herself possessing a Harvard diploma and a gig as a White House staffer.

With the possible exception of the moving conclusion of Revenge of the Nerds, there has never been a better cultural moment to be brainy. Just ask the 76 Nobel laureates who endorsed Obama last October (28 more than John Kerry had). Or go to Zazzle.com and score a poster of our prez leaning against the bold white slogan bringing smart back or a T-shirt of him next to the words it’s cool to be smart!

Everywhere you look, dudus americanus is not preying on the smart guy—he’s aspiring to be him. As The Hills’ ratings tank, National Public Radio’s are breaking records. Time has usurped Cosmopolitan as the most-read magazine on American campuses. Lively bar banter? It’s as likely to be about the prospects of diplomacy in Pakistan and Palestine as it is the relative merits of Van Halen and Van Hagar.

Chalk it up to Obama’s new Camelot, where intelligence and alpha-male swagger are mutually inclusive. Being smart no longer conjures up images of the egghead in high-waisted slacks. In his place is someone who graduates magna cum laude from Harvard Law and nails three-pointers with aplomb. Someone who promises “to restore science to its rightful place” but rolls with Usher and spawns legions of adulating Obama Girls. Who doesn’t want to be that guy?

Ezra Klein and Dana Goldstein observe that black-white achievement gaps, as measured on the National Assessment of Education Progress, generally increased during Arne Duncan’s tenure as head of Chicago Public Schools. …At the same time, the evidence is overwhelmingly good. Of the five sets of metrics available… black scores improved on four metrics. And Hispanic scores improved on all five. The trouble is that the small white minority (about 10 percent) in Chicago public schools also improved and sometimes showed a larger increase than did black test scores.

  161. Mr. Pink says:

“I have unequivocally prohibited the use of torture by the United States”

Does this idiot realize the countries he is visiting expressly permit and condone torture?

  162. Rob Crawford says:

Does this idiot realize the countries he is visiting expressly permit and condone torture?

Unlikely. He’s apparently not even aware that the US has never tortured.

  163. […] Preposterous! And now, back to your regularly-scheduled saturation coverage of the Tiller killing, which is far more useful as […]

  164. Mr. Pink says:

Rob what I do not get is that this guy is billing himself as having a greater understanding of muslims and islam than us regular rubes here in America. Then he says something that is blatantly stupid. I feel like Biff from Back to the Future should come on stage with him and tap him on the head and say “Hello McFly!!! Have you ever heard of Sharia?”

  165. Mr. Pink says:

I love how he can not go freakin 2 sentences without using the word “I”.

“The only resolution is for the aspirations of both sides to be met through two states, where Israelis and Palestinians each live in peace and security,” Obama said. “That is why I intend to personally pursue this outcome with all the patience that the task requires.”

  166. Rob Crawford says:

Rob what I do not get is that this guy is billing himself as having a greater understanding of muslims and islam than us regular rubes here in America. Then he says something that is blatantly stupid.

What’s to get? He’s a lefty. No group in history has ever been more certain of their own mental and moral superiority, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

  167. Mr. Pink says:

Sharia law dictates that you cut off the hand of a thief, stone an adulterer (usually in a painful way such as burying them up to their necks before you start), and the execution of apostates. Nope nothing to see there, now let us discuss George Bush and Cheney’s actions in the weeks after 911 where they personally poured water on someones head.
    WTF.

  168. Sammy says:

Can’t we just realize that if you practice Islam, in this country, you either are the enemy, or you’re providing aid and comfort to the enemy?

Wow Kyle. I do appreciate your lack of ambiguity back on #90. Who here would like to sign on to that statement?

  169. guinsPen says:

    You.

  170. guinsPen says:

    And yours.

  171. geoffb says:

““The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation”

He is referring to the centuries before 623AD. Before then there was almost constant peaceful coexistence and cooperation between Allah, his worshipers, and all of the Western World.

  172. Rob Crawford says:

If only we could return to those peaceful days, geoffb.

  173. SarahW says:

” Suspect in Tiller shooting had struggled financially for yeasr” http://bit.ly/z8lZ5

Like so many other rage-killings, seems like personal issues helped push him to complete grandiose act of murder.

  174. Neo says:

I wonder what the ACLU would do say about this invention from the Muslim world
German media outlets reported last week that a Saudi inventor’s application to patent a “killer chip,” as the Swiss tabloids put it, had been denied.
The basic model would consist of a tiny GPS transceiver placed in a capsule and inserted under a person’s skin, so that authorities could track him easily.
Model B would have an extra function — a dose of cyanide to remotely kill the wearer without muss or fuss if authorities deemed he’d become a public threat.

Maybe this could be useful for the Gitmo alumni.
