The Consequences of the Israelis = Nazis Meme [Dan Collins]

The estimable Melanie Phillips:

And that is why so many British Jews now feel under siege in a country that to their horror and astonishment has now turned against them — which they feel every time they switch on the BBC or read the newspapers or go to the office or stand around over drinks with people they once thought were friends but who now force them to make a choice: renounce Israel and be accepted, or support Israel and be a pariah.

I would also make a further point that Rich does not make. Calling Israel a Nazi state retrospectively sanitises the Holocaust and lets complicit Europe off the hook – Britain too. After all, Britain was partly responsible for the murder of thousands of Jews to whom it refused entry to Palestine — in order to appease the Arabs of Palestine who were in league with the Nazis – and who perished in the Holocaust as a result. If the Jews have become Nazis, then their victimisation at the hands of the Nazis stops being the crime of crimes.

It also allows people safely to hate the Jews once again. As I was told to my face by a prominent man of impeccable liberal views, the enormity of the Holocaust had meant that it was no longer possible to disdain or loathe the Jews as before, at least not in public. But with Israel painted as a Nazi state, it can be open season on the Jews once again.

Read the whole thing, please. Money quote: “[T]he human rights movement is intrinsically a vehicle for Jew-hatred.” That is true, although she left out the corollary–Islamist supremacy.

Meanwhile, prominent Jews are shocked, shocked! at Hillary’s anti-Israeli statements, even as Dhimmi Crater gets bent out of shape by the gall of those Clintons horning in on his Hot Arab Action.

Elsewhere, in Chavez’s socialist paradise, the narco-petro-Islamist syndicate is doing fine, thank you.

NO TIT FOR FOREIGN TAT! Civility NOW!!!

is the octo-mom jewish? cuz i don’t think people are hatin’ on her enough

Hard to tell after the nose job, buttons.

Melanie Phillips is psychopathic loon. She bought into the entire myth about the WMDs being moved out of Iraq based on the hearsay of some random white supremacist idiot. That she equates human rights advocacy with Jew-hatred is just further proof that “anti-Semitism” is a completely meaningless term to the Zionist far-right.

  4. Dan Collins says:

Sorry, AJB, but that is exactly what “human rights advocacy” has boiled down to in the UN and in much of the EU. I’ve yet to hear any concern over Darfur since The One was elected from the Usual Suspects. I didn’t notice you posting in yesterday’s thread about the UN proposal against “defamation of religion.” An oversight, perhaps?

  5. geoffb says:

“”I am very surprised, frankly, at this statement from the United States government and from the secretary of state,” said Mortimer Zuckerman, publisher of the New York Daily News and member of the NYC Jewish Community Relations Council.”

There is a large segment of the Jewish community that sees the statement “never again” as a promise and guarantee from all the non-Jewish community. That it never was. It should always be seen in the same light as “from my cold, dead hands” is seen by gun owners.

  6. Sdferr says:

“She bought into the entire myth” asserts AJB, “Of course, we don’t know whether any of this is true. But given Dave Gaubatz’s testimony, shouldn’t someone be trying to find out?” writes Melanie Phillips in the very article AJB cites as evidence. Is AJB capable of reading one wonders?

  7. Pablo says:

Iraqi Air Force Gen Georges Sada is a white supremacist? I so wish AJB would come back and explain more about this, but as we know that never happens. Bye bye, drive by.

  8. Joe says:

It is not even an unintended consequence, it is the goal, to make hating Jews cool again.

  9. geoffb says:

Don’t you know that according to our esteemed trolls clicking on links is not to be done. It can only lead you to thinking thoughts that should never see the light of day. Thus it was never expected you would actually click to it and, horror of horrors, actually read and understand it. For shame.

  10. TheGeezer says:

Again, I wonder, why do Jews vote in block, for the most part, for contemporary liberals who spout moral fashionibilities and caress anti-Semitic dictators as the wave of the future?

    It gets me all confused.

  11. Sdferr says:

Seeing Obama appoint Chas Freeman to chair the National Intelligence Council has some of those very voters confused today as well, apparently wondering what just happened. Schade.

  12. Benedick says:

Geezer, it gets me confused, too, and leads to bitter arguments with my mother.

  13. TheGeezer says:

Sdferr, Chas apparently is no friend of Christianity, either, author of The Rise of Faith and the Fall of Reason. It’s not a book friendly to any faith, but Christianity is its main villain.

Loads of baggage into the NIC.

  14. Sdferr says:

Bad though the appointee may be (in whatever respect we should choose to observe), the question on which Obama voters ought to focus is — What is going on with the appointer that he would deign to have these outlandish views so prominently represented in his halls of council? From whence this odd friendship for our enemies?

Actually, an ex-Iraqi General, Georges Sada, said it, and wrote a book about it. Fucking idiot!

AJB is of the class of troll that is based entirely on fast-twitch reflexes. Reading the linked material would slow his ability to crap on different sites.

I suspect it’s because he gets paid by the piece.

  17. comatus says:

The term “holocaust” was first used by an English monk to describe the expulsion of the Jews from England, in 1290. I don’t think anti-semitism, or any other rage impulse, is genetic. In the right historical milieu (read ‘wrong’ for ‘right’ of course) any country of people is capable of anything. Watch for it at a town-hall meeting near you!

I wish someone could answer this question.

Jews strike me, on the whole (the rightwing governments in Israel notwithstanding), to be the one people on the face of the earth most hell-bent on self-immolation and, given the history of just 65-70 years ago, you’d think they’d be more, I dunno, feisty about it?!

  19. pdbuttons says:

    feisty-love that word!
    what?
    you looking at me?
    no one else here….

you must be talking to me…

  20. Mikey NTH says:

Human rights advocates have spent a lot of time over the past forty years protesting the USA and any state allied to it. But very, very little time protesting any state (such as the late USSR) that opposed the USA.

With that particular record and all it implies, I don’t take what any human rights organization says seriously.
