The woman just emitted positive sultrinos.
Monica Belucci would make a pretty great Catwoman, too, but it’s a bit of a turn-off that she’s still got the price tag on her.

She did and I can testify to having absorbed more than a few of them myself Dan, though they were coming through a tv screen and she was far away.
Comment by Dan Collins on 12/26 @ 5:55 pm #
I’ll tell you what, Sdferr–I admired Batman’s self-control.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 5:57 pm #
I’m a Julie Newmar man myself, but Eartha was definitely in MRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOWR territory, too.
First Bettie Page, now Eartha Kitt.
Sigh.
We still have Sophia and Raquel for now, I guess.
Comment by Dan Collins on 12/26 @ 5:58 pm #
True. Bardot aged very poorly. Bad vintage, or something.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 6:04 pm #
Julie in 2001
Raquel in 2005.
Sophia in 2002.
All doing quite nicely for septuagenarians.

On the update: Belucci would make a good Catwoman for sure.
I could see Drea de Matteo pulling it off, too, if she can lose the Jersey accent (which she may have only put on for The Sopranos — I haven’t seen her in anything else).
Comment by Sdferr on 12/26 @ 6:33 pm #
We’re going to have to go to work on our taxonomy of sexypart-icles at this rate, attempting to properly distinguish the sultrino from the temptron, bosomons from gluteons, hadtohaveherons from firmeons, bare-y-ons from messyons, und so weiter.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 6:34 pm #
I’d have lepton any of the women mentioned in this thread.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 6:36 pm #
Drea definitely had her tachyon during The Sopranos run. Smokin’ hot, nonetheless.

My God. Particle physics puns.
How low can we go?
Comment by Sdferr on 12/26 @ 6:39 pm #
Lower.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 6:43 pm #
I think we’ve reached the ground state, although there’s still some possibility of vacuum decay.
Julie Newmar had a charming top and bottom. Made me get up, then get down, emitting gluons in the process.
That was back in the “classical” period, when there was a serious risk of getting the pages stuck together. In the modern “quantum” period, you just have to worry about messing up your keyboard.
Low enough?
Comment by Bob's Kid on 12/26 @ 6:48 pm #
Low enough!
Comment by Swen Swenson on 12/26 @ 6:50 pm #
Loved the old Batman TV series, but even when I was six or eight I think I knew that Adam West only had eyes for Burt Ward..

God Rest Her Soul…
She was a great singer, and a pretty good actress; looked mighty hot in that Catwoman outfit too…
Ms. Belluci is very attractive, but I’m not sure that she’s of the same caliber; but I confess to ignorance…
May God bless her family, and help them through their time of trial and grief…
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/26 @ 6:55 pm #
Eartha Kitt performing Santa, Baby.
Comment by Percy Dovetonsils on 12/26 @ 7:00 pm #
I don’t understand all your egghead “science” talk (and I’m actually making the sarcastic air quotes over here), but I can assure you, you’re still not going low enough for me.
Comment by Spiny Norman on 12/26 @ 7:22 pm #
Catwoman purrs.
Mee-ow!

Keep going, it’s all relative.

Eartha and Dorothy Dandridge, rrrrowwllll…
Comment by Lost My Cookies on 12/26 @ 8:28 pm #
She was funny too. Her star turn in the “Emperor’s New Groove” is a favorite with the Cookies.
Comment by PCachu on 12/27 @ 1:28 am #
True dat, LMC. She was also the sole redeeming element of that movie’s follow-up TV series (“The Emperor’s New School”).
(Well, okay — her and the ever-reliable Patrick Warburton.)

Blogger respectful of dead but still thinks Meriwether and Newmar were sexier

Loved the old Batman TV series, but even when I was six or eight I think I knew that Adam West only had eyes for Burt Ward.
Well, come on, he was a “bachelor” who lived alone in a huge mansion with his “ward,” young Dick Grayson.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/27 @ 10:22 am #
Lee Meriwether was gorgeous, but didn’t have the femme fatale appeal in the role that Newmar and Kitt did. The same goes for Michelle Pfeiffer. Smokin’ hot, just not right for Catwoman.
Comment by Cave Bear on 12/27 @ 11:31 am #
I agree with SBP. Lee Meriwether was hawt (I had a crush on her in her role on “The Time Tunnel”), but she just didn’t emit sultrinos as Kitt and Newmar did. I blame the Miss America influence. Very charming top and bottom, though.
Comment by Kevin B on 12/27 @ 1:22 pm #
Strange charm
Comment by Swen Swenson on 12/27 @ 2:36 pm #
Well yeah. That and West was probably the first and last limp-wristed, mincing actor to portray a super hero.. Assuming you discount Andi Sullivan I s’pose.

You do know she is the kind of person you fuckwits love to reflexively hate. She was pro-gay and for women’s rights. Hated Vietnam. How’s that fit with your adolescent fantasies?
Comment by B Moe on 12/27 @ 4:56 pm #
How’s that fit with your adolescent fantasies?
Better than your adolescent caricature of me.

Dear #29 – Whatever her politics, it doesn’t change her abilities. She was also brave enough to speak her mind in public, not anonymously trash people on teh innernets. Twit.
I love Eartha’s Santa Baby – One of my most fave Christmas numbers for ages. I also love her version of one of the lesser-known Cole Porter numbers, Let’s Misbehave, which she recorded in 1994, and she sounded great. You can get it as an MP3 download at Amazon. And she’s my favorite Catwoman.
Let’s Misbehave
We’re all alone,
No chaperone
Can get our number,
The world’s in slumber,
Let’s misbehave!
There’s something wild
About you, child,
That’s so contagious,
Let’s be outrageous,
Let’s misbehave!
When Adam won Eve’s hand,
He wouldn’t stand
For teasin’,
He didn’t care about
Those apples out of season!
They say the Spring
Means just one thing
To little lovebirds;
We’re not above birds,
Let’s misbehave!
– Cole Porter

She’d spit on you.
Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 12/27 @ 5:10 pm #
Noisy in here all of a sudden.
No Catwoman, alas, but there’s nothing quite like Filipino Batman. It’s up there with Turkish Star Trek, it is.
Comment by B Moe on 12/27 @ 5:15 pm #
You’re a fucking social retard, you know that, assclown? Most grown ups can disagree with other people and not only not hate them but actually be friends, did you know that?
I am friends with this guy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ayyPzuHGNU
We don’t agree on some gay rights issues but manage to hang out without killing one another.
And I also am friends with this dude
http://www.wasuvi.com/
That’s TRex of firedoglakes twin brother. Rapid fucking lefty. He calls me sometimes when he needs a guitar player, and we get along fine.
My friends are all over the map politically. So put your projector away and save all that bile and hatred for yourself, I ain’t got time for it.
Comment by Great Mencken's Ghost! on 12/27 @ 5:19 pm #
Bettie Page, Beverly Garland, Eartha Kitt, it’s all just a little bit of history repeating…
Comment by Mikey NTH on 12/27 @ 5:58 pm #
Sultrinos?
Her ‘Santa Baby’ is something that still makes me say “Wow, just Wow”. Total sex appeal on just the voice alone.
Comment by Drumwaster on 12/27 @ 10:36 pm #
That was why they had to introduce a “spinster aunt” (Harriet, IIRC), in order to offset the all-male cast, and it was to try and appeal to the girls that they introduced Batgirl. Yvonne Craig was definitely a vision in purple…

“My friends are all over the map politically.”
That’s so nice for you. SO nice. Do they know about the hatefilled screeds you and your compatriots write here? I’m sure they’d just love you to death if they did. Them being your bestest buds and all.
Comment by George on 12/29 @ 3:11 am #
Any reason why you had to use the cover of a Norwegian ladies’ magazine for this? Weren’t there any other covers to show? Quirky, but funny for me since I understand what it says on the cover :)
Comment by Mikey NTH on 12/29 @ 5:00 pm #
#40 George:
I could only answer that question by referencing the photo and the caption. That photo is Catwoman, that photo is sultry, that photo just says ‘Wow’.
“Resistance is futile.”
“……”
“Did you hear me? Resistance is futile.”
“Yes, ma’am. I surrender.”
