Whatever, Dudeherrenvolk [Dan Collins]

George W. Bush is yesterday, the Texas version of the arrogant world power. Obama is all about today: the “everybody really just wants to be brothers and save the world” utopia. As for us, we who sometimes admire and sometimes curse this somewhat anemic, pragmatic democracy, we will have to quickly get used to Barack Obama, the new leader of a lofty democracy that loves those big nice words — words that warm our hearts and alarm our minds.

Let’s allow ourselves to be warmed today, by this man at the Victory Column. Then we’ll take a further look.

I really want to eat this plate full of crap, but I realize it’s a plate full of crap, so don’t judge me.

huh. I thought Germans were supposed to be much less emotional than us. well, he’ll have to get in line to have Obama’s love child.

Perhaps the height of Obama’s mendacity is taking credit for Bush’s foreign policy. That’s what I said: Despite all the self-induced McChimpyBushCo America hatred (read: leftist self-loathing) only a collectivist cretin with literally no creds like The O! would emerge have the audacity to bask in the relative safety brought about by the previous eight years.

‘President of the World’, ‘utopian’, ‘idealist’…well, Dan, I guess we’re just on the wrong side of the entire rest of the planet’s infatuation-fest.

    Care to fist bump?

Soon, once Obama is President, this sort of criticism will be extinguished and you will bow down.

    Seig.

    Heil.

They never did grow those testicles back after ‘45, did they?

Bismark would be ashamed. Not to say that this is a bad thing, but it is sad, just the same.

A couple of white proggies in my office were gushing over O! today and how beloved he is all over the rest of the world .. I remarked that “with all this build up it sure will be something to see if McCain wins this, cause polls are only showing him trailing by a few percent..” to which they replied, “That’ll just be proof of how racist and hateful this country is..”. I snickered a little thinking they were kidding.. making a little joke out of the liberal stereotype of the self loathing white men.. but they weren’t smiling.. and it dawned on me that there really are people that believe the only reason one wouldn’t vote for the Messiah is because he’s black.. That not to support O! really IS evidence of ones racist beliefs…At that I felt a cold chill go up my back. There’s a storm coming in this country.

Was this the “substanitive” speech we were promised by his campaign? I only ask because not once did he ever say “HOW” he intended to do any of the things “we must do” as citizens of the world.

  20. Comment by Sdferr on 7/24 @ 10:41 pm #

How’s are for the little people like the generals in Iraq who are only there to carry out the wishes of the Great Strategist who sets the tone and determines the what. “How”? Piffle.

That he is an impressive speaker who knows how to casually draw his audience into his image of the world …
With this drive and this radiance, he managed to drive Hillary Clinton out of the campaign.

The way I saw it he didn’t drive Hillary out of anything, he just kind of squeeked by.

I am only disappointed that Andrew Sullivan is off this week, so we can’t read about how this speech was the most “searing, gut-wrenching, nuanced, and deeply, deeply, Christian” since the last one that the Obama-lama-ding-dong gave.

The time that the nation will be ready for a black man to win the presidency will be the day that one can lose without this petty, whiny claptrap being spewed. Now, me, I’m a “walletist” — I listen to the candidates and vote for the one who doesn’t see my salary as the solution to all the world’s ills. It is a policy that has served me well in the past several elections.

Black as your soul, I’d rather die than give you control (seeing the creepiness of the O! brownshirts, that may be an option).

  33. Comment by bergerbilder on 7/25 @ 8:06 am #

Bush is Moses to Obama’s Joshua.

Moses did all the grunt work, pissed off everyone, and couldn’t enter the Promised Land.

Joshua blows his horn, the walls crumble, and everyone celebrates.

What a contrast! Arrogant, grumpy Moses and cheery Joshua with all his blow-his-horniness.

…. said that Hillary will be at the front of her herd, on the floor in Denver.

And I don’t think “lofty” is going to describe that democracy in action.

It’s going to be a real “woot” moment. Maybe even an eleventy!11!.

I see things spinning out of control about the time some O! speaker mutters “Get over IT!” from the podium.

  39. Comment by charles austin on 7/25 @ 11:56 am #

My favorite lines from this piece so obviously stolen from The Onion:

Anyone who saw him make the short way from the Victory Column in Berlin on Thursday to the podium saw a man with the serious gait of a basketball player… Not only that, but because he hasn’t been tortued, he can raise his hands over his head in celebration!

Anyone who listens to him realizes that he is not only ambitious but will also make demands. I seem to recall hearing something about not being allowed to be complacent and having to work on utopia.

    I’m with you mojo.

Me, too. Hillary is still out there, circling like a vulture.

Obama better hope his mask doesn’t crack any further before the convention, ’cause Hillary will go for his throat at the slightest provocation.
