AMERICAblog is on the verge of going Crazy Larry [Karl]

Allahpundit links to a Kos Kiddie re-raising the complaint about John McCain getting disability pay from his stay in the Hanoi Hilton.

The more notable aspect of this (imho) begins with the fact that the Kos diarist is quoting a fresh post at AMERICAblog from John Avarosis.  The blog ranks in the Top 1000 at Technorati, much higher than a random Kos diarist.

Even wackier is the conclusion of the Avarosis post:

A Second PS: Imagine had the Democratic candidate served in Vietnam, been captured, and then made propaganda videos for the enemy while claiming all the while to be a hero. That’s a story for another day, but just imagine had our candidate run on his war record, and used his captivity to justify $58,000 a year in benefits, when during such captivity he made propaganda videos for the enemy. I have a feeling our guy would be laughed out of the race. (Emphases added.)

Yep, Avarosis is going there.  And in those propaganda videos, tucked away behind the Lost Ark of the Covenant in a super-secret government facility, maybe the candidate called people “whitey!”

Update: Imagine, hypothetically, a blogger touting a video of Jeff Gannon secretly slipping into the Hanoi Hilton to toss McCain’s salad.  It’s easy if you try. (h/t Jeff G.)

Witnessing the first inaugural speech to feature the word “ofay” will certainly be something to tell the grandkids about, won’t it?

    Where’s my handbasket?

  2. Merovign says:

Of course they went there. Look where else they’ve gone.

  3. Karl says:

I’m just glad that O! is going to end these old distracting politics.

  4. Jeff G. says:

On the bright side, at least Aravosis didn’t do a story about Jeff Gannon secretly slipping into the Hanoi Hilton to toss McCain’s salad…

And yeah, I would add that to an update were I you.

  5. jdm says:

    Yep, Avarosis is going there.

    Well, duh.

McCain’s record in Vietnam is his strongest asset – it may not be his most important, but be that as it may, it is his strongest.

The best way to defeat it is to destroy it. By throwing bodies at it. Start with the moonbats (they have no mainstream rep and don’t care, they’re moonbats) and get a narrative going. Once a narrative has taken hold, expand it. Use ever more mainstream and “serious” folks along with still more moonbats to Get People Talking.

Once Tim Russert or Geo Steph or anyone of the other oh-so serious Journalists asks McCain about it, it’s home. McCain’s strongest asset will be, if not neutralized, then weakened.

I have trouble believing this process is centrally coordinated, but it occurs time after time. It sure seems like it.

  6. Rob Crawford says:

Once Tim Russert or Geo Steph or anyone of the other oh-so serious Journalists asks McCain about it, it’s home. McCain’s strongest asset will be, if not neutralized, then weakened.

Dunno. Seeing McCain strangle Russert or Snuffleupagus with their own intestines would bring in a lot of votes.

  7. dre says:

    “By throwing bodies at it”

We need more Tom Hayden, John Kerry, Jane Fonda, Mr. Ayers STAT

  8. Rick Ballard says:

Cool. There really isn’t much reason to play nice guy any longer, is there?

    Sound the Deguello.

  9. JD says:

Avarosis is a twit. Just like his fellow gerbil cavers the gleeeeeeeens and Excitable Andy. Why try to compare him to crazy Larry? These asshats are mainstream thinkers for the Left.

  10. jdm says:

Seeing McCain strangle Russert or Snuffleupagus with their own intestines would bring in a lot of votes.

Of course it would. Normally. But if the moonbat grunts have done their job, McCain’ll look like a jerk. And most people won’t vote for someone who’s a jerk.

  11. JD says:

Telling the truth about Kerry was somehow lying, and has since morphed into swiftboating, a term they define as smearing someone, presumably by telling the truth. At the same time, they feel entirely comfortable making shit up and lying about McCain already. November is a long time away. Funny thing is, there are oodles of true reasons to knock McCain. They choose to lie. Shocka.

  12. daleyrocks says:

Aravosis gets all his story ideas from Gleenwald, the man behind the man if you know what I mean, so expect some purple prose from Salon if this gets any traction.

  13. dre says:

“Aravosis gets all his story ideas from Gleenwald”

    Idiots mounting teh sheep

  14. ahem says:

Being tortured is easy; I’m sure he’d trade places with McCain any day of the year.

Aravosis is a piece of pig manure.

  15. Pablo says:

Remember how we can’t trust anything KSM and Ramzi bin al-Shibh say because we tortured it out of them? Morons.

Please, please, please run with this foolishness. I beg you.

  16. daveinboca says:

That bad acid is causing the Aravosis mind to rot in unexpected places. What kind of flashbacks is this zomboid NOT reporting about his hallucinations?

  17. Rick Ballard says:

Aravosis carried the ball on outing Foley – calling him pig manure is an intolerable insult to pig manure.

  18. Sean M. says:

Yep, Avarosis is going there. And in those propaganda videos, tucked away behind the Lost Ark of the Covenant in a super-secret government facility, maybe the candidate called people “whitey!”

I’m sure Avarosis has top men working on it. Or, maybe, bottom men.

    Yes, I denounce myself.

  19. David L. says:

No film or tape of McCain making propaganda for the enemy was ever made during his captivity, because he made none. No such tape exists today. In mid-October, however, it will. Nice of Aravosis to tip his hand. We may as well use the time to get ready.

  20. Pablo says:

The thing with propaganda videos is that they don’t work if you keep them a secret. You really need to show them around.

  21. happyfeet says:

I don’t know for real how heroic McCain is and I don’t care cause he stopped being heroic a long time ago but also I don’t care anything about what anyone did in Vietnam very much cause it’s just not very relevant any more I don’t think unless I really really focus, and even then it’s sort of contrived. Iraq is just a way way different deal. McCain is as close to heroic on Iraq as we’re gonna get even if he doesn’t understand that the oil in Iraq is the same as the oil in Alaska and on the coasts and stuff. Maybe one of his advisers can explain to him in language he can understand.

  22. MayBee says:

My husband’s grandma is getting veteran’s benefits from WWII and she never even fought in a war. I bet Aravosis wouldn’t like that. Of course, she didn’t make propaganda films for the enemy, but she is German so you never know.

  23. Crimso says:

“No film or tape of McCain making propaganda for the enemy was ever made during his captivity, because he made none.”

Perhaps Aravosis has him confused with Jeremiah Denton. They got him on tape. Maybe Aravosis would like to disparage Denton. Of course, I highly doubt that such a super-genius has ever heard of Denton…

  24. MayBee says:

It sounds like Guantanamo prisoners are way more deserving of sympathy than McCain ever was.
    In Aravosisworld.

  25. Darleen says:

God knows I have my problems with McCain, but Avarosis is beyond scummy … indecent and ugly right to the bone.

  26. baldilocks says:

    Avarosis is a twit.

    Yes, he is.

  27. B Moe says:

Cool. There really isn’t much reason to play nice guy any longer, is there?

Fuckin’ A, dude. I am ready to start swinging at the treasonous bastards. How can anybody who has cranked out as much enemy propaganda as those shitheels even think about going after McCain? I swear to God, I will gladly trade a weekend in county for a shot at one of those punks.

  28. Scrapiron says:

I volunteered for military service in 1959 with the promise that if I served 20 years or more I would receive a retirement check for the rest of my life, no matter what employment I accepted after completing the 20+ years. I also am a disabled vet who draws a pension from the VA. The facts that the liberals hide is that every penny of my VA disability check is deducted from my regular retirement check. I would be entitled to the exact dollar amount either way but the VA portion (disability) is tax free on the federal tax return. I can go out tomorrow and get any job I want and earn as much as possible and it has no effect on the retirement I have already ‘earned’. I also draw my SS pension that I ‘paid’ into. Liberals are a bunch of cowardly pantie wearing pussies that won’t serve their country and down anyone who does. One of the cowards gets in my face about this and there will be a fight to the death so he had better have prepaid funeral arrangements. Probably paid for by momma.

  29. baldilocks says:

    Whoops. Try this link.

  30. Maybe someone could demonstrate to Aravosis that if someone beats him with bamboo long enough, he’ll beg to be ass-raped by Dick Cheney and bear his love child.

That’s what McCain was getting paid for.

  31. Karl says:

    Sean M,

Extra credit for the “top men” reference.

    baldilocks,

That’s a hoot. I may have to see if I can quote him more often.

  32. daleyrocks says:

Aravosis was bumpin’ uglies with Mike Rogers on the Foley outing and you can’t get much lower than that. He tried to wriggle out of how much advance notice he had of Foley’s emails to the pages before it got leaked to the press – how long did he sit on the hit job.

Like Greenwald, he only plays one tune on his rusty trombone, whatever it takes to defeat the republicans.

    I denounce myself.

  33. Topsecretk9 says:

    baldilocks

Thanks for the better link. Reading John “I’m a hero in my own mind” rattle on reminds me of the dealings I have with consultants of a certain political persuasion who think that prefacing every word with FUCK makes them “kooler” and better in some bizarre way and covers for their lack of “substance” and really self-aware disbelief they are in the position they are in.

His “do not interrupt me” diva routine is a hallmark of liberal tactics. No wonder the media is biased, even if they were inclined not to be their inner pussy reacts whenever a pushy John like asscrank pours on the authoritah and threats.

    Reading the comments Hilzoy says

The issue is not that PJM links to us; it’s that it does so in a way that does not make it clear that we are not affiliated with PJM.

What a load of crap, Hilzoy’s just saying that a PJM link messes with their street cred with the crazies who read their blogs.

  34. Topsecretk9 says:

Wait, does anyone know if John Kerry receives disability benies for his purple heart ass shot?

    I bet he does.

  35. Topsecretk9 says:

    Daley

Talk about Irony, Larry Craig makes millions off his tell all while Mike Rogers remains the loser he’s always been.

  36. daleyrocks says:

TSK9 – Mike Rogers is just a loathsome individual and it was funny to see Aravosis tap dancing about his role in the whole deal after it became clear that it was a dem put up job.

Those payments to McCain, btw, are his disability PENSION payments. He was retired out of the navy at full disability if I recall based on his injuries. Did Career Vietnam Veteran John F. Kerry have any injuries that hampered him later in life or have enough time in service to qualify him for any kind of a pension. What kind of shit are these chowderheads peddling?

  37. Sean M. says:

Thanks for the extra credit, Karl, but wouldn’t it be safer to denounce me?

  38. Karl says:

    Sean M,

Nah, I denounce you for the “bottom men” follow up!

  39. thor says:

When is Dan Collins coming back?

  40. Ted says:

Was it McCain or Kerry who was honored by Vietnam in their War Protesters Museum for their work in comforting our enemies, prolonging the war, and providing material to be used against our POWs? Can’t remember…

  41. Education Guy says:

Avarosis continues to display why he is one of the larger scumbags in political punditry. I think that little bastard didn’t get enough love as a child.

  42. JD says:

So, imaginary movies, as a result of actual torture, that advance enemy propoganda are bad. But, real life words and actions (see-Kerry), done voluntarily, that advance enemy propoganda are good.

  43. Roy Mustang says:

This is great. I really hope they keep this up. America needs more examples of “…but we support the troops”.

  44. BJTexs says:

How fallacious is one’s probing premise when one’s own commentators from the echo chamber have it throroughly debunked within about 15 postings?

However I will tentatively denounce myself subject to the review of the Reconciliation Committee on Neocon WarCrimes and Kitty Torture.

Also I issue a preemptive “SHUT UP” to JD. He hates the mainstreamed brown capitalist.

  45. JD says:

Disliking Avarosis because he is teh ghey is wrong. Disliking Avarosis because he is a cum-guzzling gutter slut that happens to be a barking moonbat is quite alright.

  46. JD says:

Also I issue a preemptive “SHUT UP” to JD. He hates the mainstreamed brown capitalist.

Nope, BJ. Just the browns in general, you self-loathing oppressor of people.

  47. JD says:

I heard that McCain not only starred in the propoganda video, he also was the Director and Executive Producer, as well as having a hand in writing the script.

  48. BJTexs says:

Didn’t he win a “Ho-ey” for his performance?

  49. JD says:

That was just so wrong, BJ.

  50. JD says:

Aravosis is really an asshat. That post is an amalgamation of class warfare, class envy, anti-war canards, and boilerplate Leftist dogma. At one point, he fucking questions whether or not he is even disabled. He would be a perfect guest on Olberdick’s show.

  51. Pablo says:

Is he disabled if he can still beat the tar out of Aravosis? I’ll bet he can’t shoot hoops worth a damn.

  52. Slartibartfast says:

Same group of people who object violently to means-tested Social Security want McCain not to be collecting military pension and disability, which isn’t means-tested, because he has too much money.

Consistency. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.

  53. JD says:

Slarti – That they are able to hold those positions, simultaneously, is remarkable.

  54. NEWS & OPIONION ROUNDUP (9 JUNE 2008)…

Fred Thompson talks about "Adhering to the Principles that Keep America Prosperous & Free."  How did we let him slip away and end up with McCain?
Congress still hasn’t worked this out?
$4 average per gallon of gas.  And it…

  55. Salt Lick says:

At least the North Vietnamese didn’t point at McQueeg’s weiner and make him wear panties on his head.

  56. Roy Mustang says:

Thompson = McCain without the war service. I still don’t understand why Fredheads loved Thopmoson while hating McCain. The only issue they differed on was illegal immigration.

  57. N. O'Brain says:

    See:

    http://www.thedonovan.com/

    “AmericaBlog… missing the point.

Why is John McCain getting $58,000 a year in disability income?

The same reason I’m getting $15,120 a year.

    He earned it.

He earned it through his military service, and the amount of it was determined by an agency of the federal government you don’t find in the Yellow Pages under “Get Free Stuff The Easy Way!” And it was awarded based on rules established by Congress, as implemented by the executive branch, all of whom, last I checked, were duly elected representatives of the people.

Let’s get to the heart of the matter – the only reason this is being brought up is because Mr. Aravosis is annoyed that Senator McCain won’t vote for the new GI Bill, because it’s “too generous””

  58. ushie says:

    Slartibartfast, would you email me?

  59. Slartibartfast says:

How am I supposed to do that?

  60. ushie says:

Actually, I don’t know. But you post on E-Hell sometimes? I was banninated for using B!!ch and I want to apologize.

    Sob.

  61. Slartibartfast says:

E-Hell? No idea what that is.

There is another Slartibartfast floating around the Interwebs; no relation.

  62. Slartibartfast says:

    …but, you know…banned. That’s a bitch.

  63. ushie says:

    I feel so…unloved…

  64. daleyrocks says:

Aravosis real issue seems to be that he is kinda pissed that McCain is drawing a disability pension from the navy since he married a rich woman and doesn’t really need the money. Other vets theoretically can better use what McCain is entitled to by laws passed by Congress. Maybe Aravosis thinks McCain should give up his senate salary as well since he married a rich woman. I wonder if such questions were posed to Lurch by the left? I think Aravosis is onto something here and should pursue it further. He should propose that all rich members of congress or those that married rich surrender their government salaries and benefits because they don’t need them. I think that’ll work out well, because of teh equality.

  65. Karl says:

    thor,

I know when Dan is coming back.

  66. daleyrocks says:

    Nicely played Karl.
