Billy Jeff’s monsters from the Id [Karl]

Todd Purdum (a/k/a Mr. Dee Dee Myers) has an article in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair title “The Comeback Id,” which attacks former President Clinton, suggesting he is out of control personally and consumed by “cavernous narcissism.”

Ross Douthat thinks that “[i]t’s interesting that Purdum and VF are coming out with this piece now, with Hillary Clinton’s campaign more or less finished,” missing the rather obvious point that it is coming out now precisely because Hillary’s campaign is more or less finished.  As a blogger for The Atlantic, Douthat should ask his colleague Joshua Green about the critical piece he did on the Clinton campaign for GQ that got spiked under the threat of losing access to Billy Jeff.  That was when Hillary was the “inevitable” candidate.

In contrast, now that Hillary losing is near-inevitable, the gossip gets flowing.  And for all the dirt Purdum dishes — and he dishes plenty of delish dirt – he admits upfront that there is no real proof of post-presidential sexual indiscretions on Clinton’s part, despite a steady stream of tabloid and Internet speculation.  With the Clintons on the wane (for now), Purdum was in a “use it or lose it” situation. After all, some of that stuff is just too good to keep to yourself; plus, it helps settle some scores for some mistreated Clinton staffers and former staffers who are probably friends of the Purdums.

I don’t know Karl…but supposing the SuperDelegates are like me already seeing McCain winning in the Fall (as both Hillary and Obama are unelectable)…maybe they really, really would like to dump the toxic Clinton’s from the leadership for their constant drag upon the ‘Party’. They are reparing for new leadership. Even if Obama loses, Billy and his “Mind” (Hillary) would still hold leadership in the party unless they get a slapping from the rank and file for the corruption they represent..(those millions they garnered from the selling of the Lincoln bedroom.) Like who were trying to bring down both Obama and Howard Dean, Who’s been trying to squelch any ‘reform’ within the Party …other than the hacks like the Clintons, and their conservative Dem’s like Carvelle (an’ spouse), lawyers, and lawyers, etc. Who lost the 2000 election, Gore or Clinton? Who lost the Congress in ’94? the Clinton’s. Who masterminded Hillary’s NY Senate Seat? Conservatives like the late Pat Moneghan(sp?) and the conservative wing of the party.

got to admit. I like her actually. But that lying shit she pulled was pretty bad.

Who could blame him, listening to Hillary is like audio saltpeter!

Another profile in courage. VF is discounting the possibility of McCain winning in 2008 and Hillary coming back in 2012.

Sleep well, and do try to find out what happened to Vince Foster’s gun.

The late Patrick Moynihan had a 95% ADA rating when he was helping HRC into that Senate seat. Quite the wingnut, ol’ Pat.

He thinks she is through; he better make sure she is.

    Shorter version. Bush is worser.

    “cavernous narcissism.”

I first read that as “carnivorous narcissism” which is even funnier.

The late Patrick Moynihan had a 95% ADA rating when he was helping HRC into that Senate seat. Quite the wingnut, ol’ Pat.

The Left will never forgive Sen. Moynihan for, correctly, predicting the massive disintigration of the black family. He was called RACIST, etc.

Is this new? Or are liberals starting to admit it in public now? It’s nice to see them liberated from their abusive spouse.

    Amazing, isn’t it?

I can’t believe that the left is pretending to be surprised by the manure spreader that the Clintons have been driving since before they even hit the national “radar”. I guess after they get a load of pigshit the Clintons throw at one and all, they don’t like the taste of it one bit.

It’s OK for the right, but HOW DARE THEY do it to the Dems?

But don’t give up hope! Obama is about to take a dive, if the rumors are true. I think the Repubs, though, WANT to face Obama, and are in no hurry to drop a bomb that will be mostly forgotten by November, and might even give Hillary the nomination.

Mid-October sounds about right. McCain is not much less puke inducing, but Obama and Hillary are REALLY scary.

Good come back, Karl. I knew that about ol’ Pat, but then again his serving on the Nixon cabinet, writing up that erudite paper that pretty much was a damnation of the ‘black’ family (as a thinly disguised proof of the superiority of irish/catholic families). I guess he’d be the Leiberman of his era. Moynihan, thanks for David Stockman and the neoConservatives that he feted and helped generate. And never one for doing much work on senate bills that passed…. But my biggest complaint was his working w/ Reagan to make orobably the biggest TAX increase in American history…the enormous increase of social security taxes taken from working people during Reagan’s so-called tax-cutting era. Income taxes for the wealthy went way down…but pay-roll taxes went way up due to fears of Social Securities insolvency…(which as today are way over-blown.) And of course Reagan appointed Alan Greenspan to accelerate these fears (and increase taxes) with help from Moynihan and other Dem. senators (of course most of us were hurting for work in the early Reagan years and were glad to get any ol’ job. __)To date, an increase of about 2.2 Trillion dollars were added to the govt’s coffers through the increases during Reagan/Moynahan years)

ok, lost dog is it the ‘gay thing’ or the ‘smokin’ thing’ you’re hopeing to embarrass Obama with?

JD, just working more. So I can’t edit my sloppy posts to make ’em any more sloppy for you to drool over.
