Dems 2008: Obama Fathers Two-Headed Gay Terrorist Baby [Karl]

At the HuffPo, Hollywood scribe John Eskow decries the “coverage” Barack Obama has gotten from the National Enquirer.  Yes, really.  The “story” that really gets Eskow’s goat is about Larry Sinclair:

Now, Larry Sinclair — for those of you who shop in upscale markets and have been fortunate enough not to be exposed to him yet — is a junkie career criminal who claims to have gotten high and had sex with Obama, and though he’s obviously completely demented and has actually failed a lie-detector test, his story has incredible traction among that section of our citizenry that thinks the Swift Boat attackers were too liberal and principled.

He cites no example of this traction, but he’s on a roll.  In particular, he’s rolling toward a claim that Clintonites are behind it all:

To be specific: I read today that “a key owner of the Enquirer is a prominent New York investment banker and one of Hillary Clinton’s key backers, Roger Altman. Altman was an official in the first Clinton administration, and his name is often mentioned as a possible Clinton Treasury Secretary.” If this is true, shouldn’t Hillary publicly disavow the specious and hideous Obama piece right away? And if it’s not, I’d like to be told: it would be a relief. And in this season of growing ugliness, we could all use some relief.

If Eskow was not so earnest in this piece, it could be mistaken for one of his comedy scripts.  Anyone with any degree of political sophistication at all has to recognize what would be written and said if Hillary Clinton were — appropos of nothing — to denounce the Larry Sinclair tale.

Funnier still, Eskow did not provide a link for his quotation, which comes from a blog post Ben Smith did at the Politico last October in regard to gossip about John Edwards.  After the quote extracted by Eskow, Smith went on to report:

American Media has also published lurid and negative stories about the Clintons since its acquisition.

Yesterday’s National Enquirer story was mirrored by a pair of stories in the Huffington Post — whose public face, Arianna Huffington, is a harsh critic of Clinton.

Moreover, in his delusion that any significant number of Americans have heard of, let alone believe Larry Sinclair, Eskow succeeded in recycling his tale on the Internet — via the HuffPo, just like the anti-Edwards story.  Maybe Eskow should pound out a post denouncing himself.

  1. happyfeet says:

Baracky should have just walked away.

  2. Not only do I know who Larry Sinclair is, I don’t know who John Eskow is. And I’m having increased doubts I know who Barack Obama is.

  3. Cowboy says:

    this season of growing ugliness

That’s what they call springtime in New York?

…but daffodils, and little baby bunnies.

  4. That should have been “don’t I know who Larry Sinclair is.”

  5. Pablo says:

Last I heard Ron Paul was behind the Sinclair deal. And now that both Sinclair and Paul have fallen back off the map, does Eskow think he’s doing Obama a favor here?

  6. Dan Collins says:

Is it alive? I’ll pay good money for that THGTB.

  7. Dan Collins says:

I’ll tell you what. I think he should put his nuts in eskow.

  8. Enoch_Root says:

Sinclair actually hasnt fallen off the map. I hate to say it, but I have heard several interviews (radio one) with this Larry Sinclair dude. And I have to say, I did not come away thinking he was some loon. I actually believed him. Now I know one doesnt want to think of our political leaders being teh gay and/or Bi and/or given to cocaine… but, ummmm, seems to me there is more evidence that, well, maybe they are just as likely to be teh gay and/or bi and/or given to cocaine as the rest of the population. Which, if you believe teh gay lobby is about 38% (at least!) plus or minus 20% of the entire population.

  9. happyfeet says:

guins on the Dick thread just reminded me of Wendy Worthington, but I’m gonna kinda guess that not too many of you guys are gonna get that one.

  10. Pablo says:

Enoch, how do you suppose this story gets any legs with nothing but Sinclair’s word to support it? I don’t see it. Unless there’s some more meat in it (heh), most people aren’t going to give Sinclair the time of day and those that do are going to be RACISTS!!one!! or some other such unholy label. Like Republicans, maybe.

  11. Enoch_Root says:

Pablo – I said I believed his story after hearing a couple hours of interviews. I didnt say the MSM would pick it up.

  12. Pablo says:

Right, which is why I say it’s fallen off the map. If there were a positive polygraph to wave around, it might have picked up steam. With the negative one, Sinclair is barely a flash in the pan and will remain so. Unless tools like Eskow insist on resurrecting it to demonstrate the Martyring of Obama.

G’head John, wave that shit in front of Olbermann and Hannity. I dare ya.

  13. cynn says:

This is just the beginning of the recursive, reverberating chatter campaign between the Barack and Clinton machines. Ironically, I think that by the time this bloodbath is over, neither Demo camp will have ammunition, attention, or credibility to challenge McCain. The poor old goof could die in September, and his embalmed corpse might still be viable. What a country we live in.

  14. datadave says:

Enough, Enoch..stop blaspheming your own Church: Indeed, the priesthood has numbers of Gays like “Which, if you believe teh gay lobby is about 38% (at least!) plus or minus 20% of the entire population.” You know that and I know that…but the general population.. .maybe 3 to 5 percent. Atlantic Monthly had a article about gayness in the priesthood…it’s major and undeniable.

my g/f thinks Obama looks gay, and I can’t argue with that. Sort of worried about Sinclair until I think of some of the gay guys I know……… but he looks a lot like Born Lomborg in wanting the attention soooo badlllly.

  15. cynn says:

Oh, please, this entire discussion has gone off the rails. How is Enoch blaspheming his/her church? And who the hell cares about who is gay? This all sounds like a playground slapfest. The Huffers are as bad as anyone.

  16. happyfeet says:

    Casting agents a lot care.

  17. mojo says:

Tha’s the gay coke-whore chauffeur, right? The one who claims he sucked O’Bama’s dick?

I dunno. The guy’s story sounds awfully, y’know, truthy

I’d like to hear O’Bama’s denials, in any case. Hey – I’m easily amused.

  18. thor says:

Thank you Karl. Yet another thread emblematic of your depth, or, as they say, another display of just how low you will go.

  19. Enoch_Root says:

Pablo – there are many teh Gay priests. No doubt about it. I don’t rightly care. As long as they aren’t sucking teh schlong (that is, as long as, like hetero priests ought, they keep their respective dicks in their respective pants). I think we ought to admire the Catholic Church in that it provides teh Gays with a legitimate manner in which to serve humanity without bowing to teh Gay lifestyle. Muslims, on the other hand… Gay ones do not have such an out-let and instead choose to attain salvation in very destructive ways.

  20. Enoch_Root says:

sorry Pablo. #19 responding to teh DataDave

  21. datadave says:

thx. Enock root….looking forward to some technical improvements (perhaps) at PW. You volunteered? da teh…..u gotta point. But do you think the falling recruitment rate of priests is related to more acceptance of gays in secular life? I think you know the consequences of letting repressed sexual men having unsupervised attachments to their younger flock. How about just allowing the priests to have ‘adult’ lifestyles like the Anglicans do? I don’t think it’s written in stone.

scary that I agree with Pablo once again…like the Rev. Wright BS this gay thing’s got no legs w/ “Bar”.

oh my, that’d be a can of worms for another whole website.

  22. Enoch_Root says:

Dave – it’s interesting because a) the vast majority of priests are not teh Gay. I bet it’s slightly higher than the national average of 85%, plus or minus 77%. I don’t think priests, whether gay or straight, were forced into priesthood. I also believe that, whether gay or straight, they have an equal chance of remaining true to celibacy. I also believe that the vaaaast majority of those ordained stay true to their vows. I also think you are slightly bigoted for repeating the oft-cited “all priests are child-molesters” mantra. All we need do is look at all the pervs out there and they span all of the “professions”, walks of life, etc. And unless you think it is something endemic to Catholic priests I have a bridge I would like to sell you. Now, do I think there is something more offensive about a priest abusing a child: you bet. Only thing worse (and barely) in my mind would be a father abusing his daughter or something along those lines. Or abortion. Do I think that after Vatican II, the vetting process was waaaaaay too relaxed for ordination? you bet. Do I think the same happened in the realm of edumacation after Vietnam? Yes. Yes I do… look at how overwhelmingly patheits our public school teachers are. Do I think teh Gayness is perverse? Yes I do. Do I think those who are teh Gay are more likely to abuse young boys? Yes, I do. But, ultimately, do I think the Church should heed the Anglican way of doing things???? Ummmmmmm. A hearty ‘no’. The problem most folks have with the Catholic Church is its authority. Its steadfast stances on Abortion, the Marriage Covenant, and its Longevity. I think… given how things are shaping up for the Anglicans… maybe they should look to their Mother for a model of a Church that is timeless: one whose precepts do not bend to the whim of pop cult-ure, but rather only when Grace warrants. And the Church, for all of Her many faults, past and present, is the keeper of the Truth. The Guardian of the Truth. And Grace, rather than weak Humanness, dictates Her beliefs. It is the job of imperfect humans to heed it. When we, as Religious and Laity do, there is Harmony, and the fruits are evident. When we do not, through our own pride, these fruits are squandered and worse. The beliefs, then, the Truths are not wanting because the folks who recognize them (for instance me) are all fallen and pathetic works in progress. Discerning the difference is called maturity in thought.

  23. Enoch_Root says:

methinks this is pearls before swine might be… no offense, David.

  24. JD TWP says:

Once they get done savaging Hillary, they will turn their attention to McCain. It is simply a matter of time until they turn him into the anti-Christ.

dd – What is up with the Catholic bigotry?

    And, Kyoto.

  25. datadave says:

Thor! torpedoes away. The same Soviet that told Karl that Reagan was the one who won the Cold War told me that Putin had sex with little boys. Putin looks like the type… very irregular face and eyes but…? The second rumour might be true, but due to Putin’s ‘special friendship’ with our glorious leader, we’ll have to sink that swift boat on another thread or perhaps never if our Putin doesn’t implement Directive 51.

thx, PW for facilitating Fascism. Jeff, Karl, read the fine print for what you encouraged and continue to harass and defame p/w/w’s* for

“6) The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government.” (ignoring the separation of powers).

And then the President can define who the enemy is (domestic or foreign): “(21) This directive: (c) Is not intended to, and does not, create any rights or benefits, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by a party against the United States, its agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.”

smell the concentration camps! There’s one in Cuba now….and it’s ours!

Anyway, I don’t buy into antiIlluminati crap but thought the video was thought provoking as I didn’t even hear of ‘Directive 51’ until a day or so ago. Where was Nancy Pelosi on that one? Here’s another over the top and entertaining Utube With the archdemoness of the REAL new world order: Ayn Rand: and her opposition to ‘dictatorship’ (although her acolyte Alan Greenspan is part of that ‘order’) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOIUYdO-0bY&NR=1

so here’s the real copy as signed by Bush: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

Once again, Wikipedia proves to be a more valid source than either PW or UTube..(setting the bar high aren’t I?)

but the White House one page summary is just a front page while the mass of directive 51 is hidden. Even Senators aren’t allowed to view the contents of the directive:

“Security. This directive and the information contained herein shall be protected from unauthorized disclosure, provided that, except for Annex A, the Annexes attached to this directive are classified and shall be accorded appropriate handling, consistent with applicable Executive Orders.”

GEORGE W. BUSH ” anti— *poor white womyns

  26. datadave says:

“Kyoto”.. .gotta pull your chains a little…what is point of it If I Don’t Pull your Chains?

  27. Enoch_Root says:

wow… dave, dont forget your meds, man… better folks than you end up bokers when they think they can do without. gasket… blown

  28. datadave says:

no offense taken, Enoch. Wasn’t any intended either.

(I was going to say something about my Catholic bred fiancée’s background: 16 years of Catholic education…but maybe I’d better keep my pearl unsullied from other observers..) Need I say how she feels about the revelations of how some within the Church acted towards their innocent young ones.

No, JD, I am not AntiCatholic even if my instincts as Anglo/Scots-Irish type might tend that way… the communitarian spirit, self discipline and architecture are particularly attractive to me.

  29. datadave says:

eh, Enoch, I blow it off pretty quick and go to work. Just a little snow fall and work’s a little slow so PW is my entertainment and it’s pretty good for that…keeping the synapses clicking.

  30. datadave says:

JD, I don’t think they can really outdo the Swiftboaters, do you? McCain’s economic policies are the only thing that’ll sink him. Again, it’s the economy that rules all in the minds of us in the major portion of the populace: the so-called lower middle class. Don’t get me whining like Jeff now……

  31. Rob Crawford says:

smell the concentration camps! There’s one in Cuba now….and it’s ours!

real concentration camps in Cuba decades ago. Odd how the lefties never batted an eye over that, but hold a pack of mass-murdering religious fanatics on a US military base and they fucking nuts.

  32. datadave says:

sorry, Enoch I didn’t scroll back far enough and am reading your treatise at the moment. I most correct you on the numbers.. The Atlantic Monthly article of maybe a decade ago put it at Conservatively 25 per cent gay in the priesthood…and from my admittedly casual observations and knowing some of the local gay peeps who partied with said priests…eh, that’s about the right proportion I’ve seen.

Remember the movie:The Mission: “The Church is not a democracy.” Authoritarianism can hide a lot of vices!

  33. Enoch_Root says:

datatehv – if she spent 16 years in Catholic Edumacation, then likely she’s dating you in a last intransigent moment of rebellion aimed at daddy. don’t worry, eventually she will show her true colors. either she will be able to reconcile you with her programming, or not.

  34. datadave says:

must, not most…but speeeeling who cares?

  35. datadave says:

Rob, we have values to preserve. Castro is a Marxist, We’re not.

McCain fortunately seems more enlightened than our current POTUS.

  36. datadave says:

thx for the warning, E. 4 years and counting and getting better but I know the actual living together can change things. I get along with the “in-laws” fine too.

  37. Enoch_Root says:

dave – if it were 310%… again, if they’re upholding their vows, I don’t give a sh**

  38. Enoch_Root says:

Dave! She is programmed!!!!…. you know it’s true. Now, go out and find a less-objectionable person… maybe an Anglican!

  39. JD TWP says:

I often look to Atlantic Monthly for accurate and up-to-date statistics on the numbers of homosexual priests in the Catholic Church. They are the go-to mag for the latest and greatest on all things teh ghey.

  40. datadave says:

but she likes ‘rock-n-roll’ and “in liiiike it”.

  41. datadave says:

    “I liiiike it”

  42. datadave says:

gooood no, Never an Anglican… been there, done that!!!!!

  43. datadave says:

enoch, you’d be a awesome priest me thinks??/ ever think on it? I don’t believe there is an age restriction. I really enjoyed my meetings with nuns and monks too btw. Some nice ones up in Quebec not far from the border and one I remember particularly in the middle of Mormon Utah. East of Ogden.

  44. datadave says:

JEROME CORSI!! You elected this fool….. and now you Bitch about Directive 51.

Ha, conservatives putting a dictator in the White House, imagine that!

  45. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

DatehTehve – I appreciate the compliment. Alas, expecting my 5th child days from now. So, that wouldn’t fly. But I am ok with that. I can talk the talk, but it takes more than that to be a Catholic priest. Because of teh exclusionariness!

  46. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

oh, and just cause yer nailing a wayward, doesn’t mean your not a bigot.

  47. JD TWP says:

Enoch TWP – We are expecting our 2nd, any day now. Congrats !

dd – If President Bush is a dictator, why are Hillary, Baracky, and McCain even bothering to run in the primaries?

  48. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

    I think datehdave meant “Dick-Tater”

  49. datadave says:

u bunch of stay-at-homes..I shoulda known. done that too. it’s not easy. Diapers were easy, but the “oatmeal” (i.e. boredom) perhaps, not so. Maybe that’s why cereal is so big a thing at PW….

  50. datadave says:

oh, conservatives aren’t bigots? that’s their nature. authoritarians.

  51. Pablo says:

oh, conservatives aren’t bigots? that’s their nature. authoritarians.

Self-parody is a wonderful thing. So is self-awareness. Pity you’ve only got one there, dave, but at least it’s the funny one.

  52. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

dave – do us all a favor in between classes: read a book

  53. datadave says:

u’re right about not being a priest…I did think about the humility. not your thing. oh, well, maybe off to work. and gotta do my taxes….half a month left before Doomsday.

my taxes go up while Wall Street gets bailed out, thanks to Alan Greenspan

  54. datadave says:

Pablo, you better go back and correct your fraudulent attacks on the other thread. You can’t google WSJ articles, dummy.

  55. datadave says:

I got lots of books, I thought class was here?

  56. Pablo says:

Pablo, you better go back and correct your fraudulent attacks on the other thread. You can’t google WSJ articles, dummy.

dave, you ought to go back there and take your spanking like the ignorant fool that you are. Here’s a shortcut, because I’m a giver.

  57. narciso says:

Dave sounds like the “John Smith’ character on Jericho, who nuked 23 cities in order to prevent
the upcoming dictatorship that the chaos brought
    about; or something like that

eh, Pablo… I am talking about years ago. They heard of Bill McKibben and made fun of how he looked…very tall and skinny.

  59. Pablo says:

Welcome to mendoucheous, dave. Try spinning on someone else because it ain’t gonna work here.

  60. datadave says:

    90 days

eh, saw Jericho the first time last week. interminable. Kind of Smallvillish but less pretty actors. What did they do with the phoney US Marines….I wandered off at that point.

  61. Carin says:

Enoch – expecting your fifth, huh! Congrats. Welcome to my world ;)

    13, 12, 10, 8 and 6.

  62. Pablo says:

Oh, and don’t address the 6690 hits I got on wsj.com for your term, versus the zero you’ve found for mine. That would be intellectually honest, and you don’t want to go there.

  63. datadave says:

Pablo, you’re so wrong about everything. You think the WSJ is free on line or something? They tried to give the paper edition to me for free for a year but I got bored and used it for firestarter.

  64. datadave says:

hey, I clicked on your search and nothing came up…and usually WSJ blocks me, always sucking up for cash first.. .which is why I like NYTimes better. No problems there..except for archival mat’l and maybe they’re giving that away free too now. Used to have to subscribe for the opinions and archivals but they changed it to free.

  65. datadave says:

the point is Bill McKibben’s pretty well known and respected and Born L. is a little less so and also roundly criticized for using bad data. What’s your point? do your own search as I gave plenty of links on the other thread.

  66. JD TWP says:

dd had the fucking temerity to assert that AGW questioners are using bad data?

  67. Pablo says:

dave, you blithering moron, you can Google incidences of a term on wsj.com. Your attempt to prove that you can’t by linking to a search on the wrong domain is foolish. I proved that by finding 6690 reslts at wsj.com for George Bush. There are zero for Bill McKibben, who, when last we saw you, was getting major play at WSJ. Now, since no reference can be found to him at WSJ.com, we’re left with your recollection that someone once made fun of him there.

the point is Bill McKibben’s pretty well known and respected…

    Uh, yeah.

McKibben is a frequent contributor to various magazines including The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, Harper’s, Orion Magazine, Mother Jones, The New York Review of Books, Granta, The National Geographic, Rolling Stone, and Outside. He is also a board member and contributor to Grist Magazine.

Al Gore is well known and respected too, except for where he’s mocked mercilessly.

  68. datadave says:

Jd the denialists have already been demolished…even Rob’s Born agrees that AGW is a reality and he was the only credible source you guyz could come up with. But just stick with the Mission Accomplished and Teh Surge is Wanking.

  69. datadave says:

Pablo, so you actually respect the WSJ’s Opinions? eh? Keep reading WSPravda!

  70. datadave says:

pisses me off bait and switch….wsj.
Households clearly need to save more. Personal saving…
Yeah, I save the money and not buy the cat box liner

  71. Pablo says:

Why did you (wrongly) cite McKibben getting “major play” as WSJ, mendouchebag?

  72. datadave says:

hmmm, just testing could not post at other thread and if you’re so concerned about pulling a thread.. how does one do it? as I can’t even post over at the other thread.

  73. datadave says:

actually your test came up with a lot of sites that were referring to the WSJ’s articles and they only go back 90 days per by their own rules…

Hey, It’s memory reading the WSJ at the public library as they won’t let us peons read the whole article on line.

  74. Pablo says:

Bill McKibben: no hits at the WSJ whatsoever. Stop defending the point. You’ve clearly lost and if you had either sense or honor, you’d concede or shut up. And there’s NOTHING there that is other sites referring to WSJ, because the search is specific to wsj.com, you mendouchebag.

    Now, pull my other finger.

  75. datadave says:

listen up. I happened on some old threads of prior posters here and same bs. occurred a year ago as now. When confronted with their contradictions, PW’ers in general always confront with creative but useless invective. As I can piss on you all and not get upset at such loserdom, I just come here for entertainment and maybe a little insight from Dan or Karl and occasionally funny Thor. And the Vocabulary. Just to keep synapses going understanding the principals of right winger rhetoric that follows mainly the models of “perversity, futility, and jeopardy” as described by Albert O. Hirschman. Attack opponents as being perverse.. teh Gey, ,,, say that their ideas are futile….like GW’s happens like shit happens, and oh, the ski’s falling: WE CAN’T UPSET the STATUS QUO ,Bail out Wall Street. I guess ol’ Hirschman’s right, you’re utterly predictable. Google it. But it’s a little narrow in the canyon with the bugcatchers here who are like blind bats with little else to do. Shoo me away, but then like maybe nishi gone..things would get boring around here.

“Obama Fathers Two-Headed Gay Terrorist Baby ” hey, Perversity, Futility and Jeopardy alll in one phrase. (“The Rhetoric of Reaction” by Albert O. Hirschman.

  76. datadave says:

u’re crawling down a one way street, Pablo
    Sky’s falling btw.

I POSTED THE FOLLOWING REPLY AT HUFFPO, DON’T KNOW IF THEY’LL PUBLISH.

    Mr. Eskow wrote:

“…though (Larry Sinclair’s) obviously completely demented and has actually failed a lie-detector test, his story has incredible traction…”

Please visit the following sites to get the rest of the story regarding Larry’s lie-detector test and don’t just take Mr. Eskow’s word for it:

    http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message518237/pg1

Larry Sinclair says he communicated with Donald Young, murdered choir director of Obama’s church

    Anonymous Coward wrote:

“The polygraph operator who tested him has a phony Ph.D degree obtained from a mail-order diploma mill. Larry Sinclair was set up to fail, it seems to me. However, when the reviewer of the test ran a computer algorithm to check the results, he found that Sinclair had spoken the truth concerning the use of drugs with a probability of error of less than 1%. Despite this contrary finding, the reviewer ignored it and agreed with the operator that Sinclair had lied. With respect to the sex allegation, the operator did not provide the reviewer with the computer data and so he was unable to check his conclusions with the computer algorithm.”

(You must copy and paste into browser.)

Mr. Eskow is right about one thing, though. This story does have incredible traction.

  78. datadave says:

actually worrying about whether an environmentalist was sited in the WSJ in the last 90 days is really perverse, futile and ….I guess no one’s in jeopardy yet.

  79. Pablo says:

datadave, you’ve made yet another false claim in support of your crackpot theories and yet again, you have been proven wrong. That bears absolutely to realistic connection to this:

When confronted with their contradictions, PW’ers in general always confront with creative but useless invective.

…which makes you a shamless mendouchebag. The contradictions on the table are between your foolish assertions and reality. Deal with it. And keep it down.

  80. Rob Crawford says:

Uh, dave, the Wikipedia article on your guy makes it clear he’s a classic Luddite. His credentials are that he’s a writer; he doesn’t appear to have a strong mathematical background, or to really have a scientific background at all. He’s a fricking journalist.

If he’s cited by WSJ or NRO, it’s in order to mock him.

  81. datadave says:

    thor nailed this one right!

  82. datadave says:

    “He’s a fricking journalist. ”

And makes a good living at it, and influences people.

    that’s accomplishment.

  83. Rob Crawford says:

And makes a good living at it, and influences people.

    that’s accomplishment.

But it’s not a qualification. Bjorn Lomborg also influences people — and happens to have the mathematical and scientific background to understand the issues.

McKibben strikes me more of a wanna-be Jacques Ellul, decrying the “dehumanization” of human activities. He’s a classic reactionary, intent on returning society to a glorious past. A past that never was…

    thor nailed this one right!

My goal is to save the world one whore at a time. My nailing is thereby defined as act of salavation. Get your claw hammer ready.

Tell us again, Karl, what caused the Soviet Union to fall?

  85. Pablo says:

    Sky’s falling btw.

You’ve been reading too much McKibben, dave.

  86. McGehee says:

what caused the Soviet Union to fall?

    Gravity?

  87. Enoch_Root - TWP also says:

    Carin – thx

    12, 10, 6, 2 and t minus 3 days or so..

  88. methinks we could save the planet if we could somehow harness the energy dd uses to spin. that’s some powerful generating right there.

thor’s all about the breastplates, cowhorns and spears. The rest is just self-promotion.

  90. narciso says:

Dave, you miss the point of the marines, and hence the show. The marines are fake, essentially drifters that took their uniform; the 23 nuclear attacks were self inflicted seemingly by the ‘evil’ Ravenwood/Jennings & Rall consortium, except they were as clueless as anyone
since the one who wrote the continuity of government plan was the one who triggered the bombs, in order to
prevent the state of affairs he brought about. It’s the
scriptwriting version of trolling; which you are very good at.

  91. datadave says:

thx narciso, I really only heard rumors (good ones) of the show until last Friday when I saw 3 or 4 episodes in a row. Thanks for filling me in. Wondered about the ‘romance’ between the fake GI girl and the Iraq war vet too? How’d it go?

  92. McGehee says:

thor’s all about the breastplates, cowhorns and spears.

Are you saying that like it’s a bad thing? ‘Cause, I don’t see how it could be a bad thing. ;-)

  93. datadave says:

Actually Rob, I don’t disagree with you that much and can’t seem to finish much of McKibben’s more serious works but liked his cross-skiing book: Going the Distance which also talks about his dad’s dying at the same period as McKibben was training to be a world class xc racer even if middle aged. Not bad as being in shape. Also, Bjorn’s moderated his views and seems to accept AGW as a fact but doesn’t want to break the bank solving it thus making him the darling of the high tech sector for some reason…maybe young, flamingly open and with flashy hair. Both smart dudes w/o a doubt. I don’t buy McKibben’s anti genetic engineering tract too much but then he’s got some good points. Maybe he’s too Conservative. In fact, in the debate with a real reactionary kind of militarist, McKibben called himself a Conservative.

  94. datadave says:

later, Thor! All the Internet is a flaming ring of targets to nail….

  95. cynn says:

mcgeehe, if that’s all I had, I’d take it and survive. I’d help you out too cause I likw you.

  96. McGehee says:

    Just one breastplate? Please?

  97. datadave says:

McGeehheeeeheeee, I got the HUNDRED. it’s all that matters at PW? I hope not!

  98. Penguins says:

Ours go to a hundred and one.

  99. McGehee says:

Ours go to a hundred and one.

Yeah, though this thread has a ways to go yet. By my count it’s only up to (with this one) 60.

  100. datadave says:

oh, you’re just counting the ones that are not mine? Gotchya. Anyway, has anyone wondered if Enoch’s offer of reforming this site hasn’t been taken and if Dan’s, Jeff’s and Karl’s absence is just forwarning for the launching of the new remodeled site? Just an idea as ?’s were flying at the mega thread of 400 plus about their absence today…but maybe we all need a break anyway?
