well, seems it’s a subject he would be personally familiar with. though I think a sock puppet would have made a better cover. button eyes are teh cute!

  2. Comment by ccoffer on 3/9 @ 4:17 pm #

Is the cover designed to suggest that cowboys are really desk lamps?

  3. Comment by Karl on 3/9 @ 4:26 pm #

I almost posted on this myself, so allow me to add that last week, one Rick Ellensburg was trying to prove the existence of the BushKult from… you guessed it — book covers.

But a book cover depicting the Republican party as a statue being torn down in the manner of Saddam Hussein or V.I. Lenin is probably a lot more suggestive of Ellensburg’s ramapant paranoia than his examples were of BushKultism.

    My irony meter just pegged.

Glenn Greenwald = Colonel Walter Kurtz. He’s insane, totally insane.

  6. Comment by Good Lt. on 3/9 @ 4:47 pm #

I take from his totally, like, radical cover that he would rather the Saddam Hussein statue be preserved as it was before TEH BOOOOOSH!!one1!!

How…nuanced of Mr. Ellensberg Greenwald Ellers Thomas Gleen.

I need a good doorstop, though, so I might consider stealing it (sorry, Gleen. Not one dime, as you leftards are apt to squeal).

    He’s a Michael Moore wanna-be.
Wanna-be rich, that is. I doubt he wants to put on that much weight.

  8. Comment by SarahWellerson on 3/9 @ 5:05 pm #

Is he trying to say we don’t really like puppies?

  9. Comment by Jeff G. on 3/9 @ 5:20 pm #

What’s amazing is that publishers continue to give him book deals when he’s been shown as a self-serving intellectual fraud on too many occasions to count.

But then, Al Franken did well, too. So, you know.

I’m waiting for the NSA to leak transcripts of Gleen’s phone calls and e-mails from Brazil, although unlike JD, I have no interest in how much Astroglide he consumes a month.

publishers continue to give him book deals when he’s been shown as a self-serving intellectual fraud on too many occasions to count.

Their explanation would boil down, I’m sure to, “feature, not bug.”

Jeff G.: As Michael Moore, et al. have shown, those books are easy to make and can be moved out with little cost, the disposable pens of the publishing world.

If they aren’t printed on near-pulp paper someone is doing something horribly wrong.

  13. Comment by Rob Crawford on 3/9 @ 5:37 pm #

So long as they sell, Gleen will get new book deals. Up until the moment he steps over the line and libels someone.

  14. Comment by Mikey NTH on 3/9 @ 5:39 pm #

In fact, I will bet the entire book is a series of posts from his blog edited together for continuity. Next to nothing investment for the publisher, fills a slot in the inventory, moves enough copies for a tidy profit even if half go to the remainders bin.

You’re being intellectually rigid about this; lord knows Gleen isn’t.

It is a lot easier to get money from stupid people than smart people. Simple fact that has been the bane of creative types since who knows when.

  17. Comment by Sean M. on 3/9 @ 8:19 pm #

    An autobiographies?

    Heh. Not a typo.

  18. Comment by narciso on 3/9 @ 8:53 pm #

Yeah you expect some more integrity, for an attorney for a Christian Scientist fascist attorney trying to legitimize his hate. He’s really Boston
Legal’s Alan Shore with a blog and a byline.

  19. Comment by Karl on 3/9 @ 8:59 pm #

    Obligatory: “I hate Illinois Nazis.”

  20. Comment by Gray on 3/9 @ 9:41 pm #

Yeah, I wanna see the same book cover, but done with a black rapper with his hat on backwards, money flying out of his sagging pants and wearing a grill in his mouf….

    Yeah, I wanna see that.

    Chickenshit.

  21. Comment by Good Lt. on 3/9 @ 9:51 pm #

    >>>Obligatory: “I hate Illinois Nazis.”

    Me too.

  23. Comment by Slartibartfast on 3/10 @ 9:54 am #

Someone needs to update his >a href=
“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenn_Greenwald”>wiki entry to mention the sockpuppetry.

  24. Comment by Slartibartfast on 3/10 @ 9:57 am #

    oops.

  25. Comment by Techie on 3/10 @ 10:00 am #

So, is that cover a Freudian slip? Gleeeeen wanted Bush torn down but not Saddam?

    Very interesting……………

  26. Comment by Slartibartfast on 3/10 @ 10:09 am #

…still waiting for the photoshopped version.

  27. Comment by JD on 3/10 @ 10:11 am #

    daleyrocks @ #10 – ?????????????????????????????

I can only conclude you are a racist, sexist, homophobe.

  28. Comment by Slartibartfast on 3/10 @ 10:15 am #

Interesting. From the Amazon salepoint for that book, one of Greenwald’s points is that John Wayne is regarded as a war hero, or at least, a war-hero template.

Anyone else besides Glenn shocked to discover that he wasn’t any such thing?

  29. Comment by daleyrocks on 3/10 @ 10:16 am #

JD – I was wondering when you would get around to reading the thread you mouthbreathing, knuckledragging, homophobic, misogynist. You know you want to know:).

  30. Comment by JD on 3/10 @ 10:21 am #

What unit would you measure the gleeeeeens astroslide consumption in? Ounces? Jars? Cases? Pallets?

daley – don’t forget xenophobic and jingoistic. Those are my personal favorites. Try to work in hegemon while you are at it.

  31. Comment by daleyrocks on 3/10 @ 10:27 am #

JD – measurement unit? How about milky loads?

You forgot nativist, rapacious capatilist, demonizer, etc., etc.

    Meeting time.

  32. Comment by Techie on 3/10 @ 10:34 am #

My personal favorite is “jingoistic”. Especially since 80% of the people who use it as a pejorative know nothing about it.

  33. Comment by mac on 3/10 @ 10:34 am #

you know the judge on Boston Legal was the head of the “Illinois Nazis”. You can’t make this stuff up.

  34. Comment by Slartibartfast on 3/10 @ 10:49 am #

Once Gleens put “brazen” past its 80,000 mile warranty, it’s only a matter of time before it gets used against Hillary by someone left of center. Or maybe it already has.

  35. Comment by JD on 3/10 @ 11:38 am #

Daleyrocks – Meeting at lunch. Great minds, and all.

slarti – the gleeeeens are a bunch of brazen hussies.

Daleyrocks; Re: JD: You forgot midget clown bigot.

  37. Comment by JD on 3/10 @ 12:07 pm #

I fucking hate them. That is not bigotry.
