Security officials in Lebanon said Imad Mugniyah, 45, a senior Hezbollah military commander, was killed by a car bomb on Tuesday night in Damascus, Syria. Mr. Mugniyah had been accused in a series of bombings, hijackings and kidnappings during the 1980s and 1990s, including the 1983 bombing of a Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 American service members. Mr. Mugniyah’s father, Fayez, left, and grandfather held each other during a wake in Beirut.
At least he never had even a moment of worry about his medical bills. There’s some solace in that.
Yeah, good medical benefits in that business.
Retirement plans, not so much. Part of the problem, of course. Retirement funds are important sources of development capital.

Would have been nice if they whacked the funeral procession, too.
It’s getting pretty pricey in Iraq, taking out single cars and houses with Hellfires
Oh criminy.
It would have been nice if they could have whacked the funeral procession as well. Using JDAM’s, Hellfires, MLRS, and the new GPS guided artillery rounds to take out one or a handful of Islamists at a pop is not real cost effective in the long run.
I could wake up to “Syria Paved In Wee Hours Of Morning” and feel just ducky.
Good to see the New York Times went out of its way to get a sympathetic picture of the monster’s family.
It is indeed sad. Good old-fashioned Hezbollah terrorists are goddam hard to find the last 5-10 years. I mean, what is up with their game, dude?
We need to start doin’ this the Chicago Way.

Capone: I want you to get this fuck where he breathes! I want you to find this nancy-boy
Eliot NessImad Mugniyah, I want him DEAD! I want his family DEAD! I want his house burned to the GROUND! I wanna go there in the middle of the night and I wanna PISS ON HIS ASHES!***
Malone: You wanna know how to get
CaponeAl-Qaeda? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way!Nah, Tmj, that’s part of the point.
Proportionally, what we’re spending on the military is about what a normal middle-class family budgets for entertainment. We’re prosecuting the war out of beer money, and the point is not lost. It is the fundamental reason behind all the various schemes for impoverishing us — Kyoto, etc.
Same-same for JDAMs, etc. (Note that JDAM itself is actually cheaper — one bomb that costs $100K and hits what it’s supposed to beats a thousand bombs at $1K each by a factor of ten.) We use a cruise missile ($2M) to take out one guy, and if it misses we shrug and fax LockMart for another one. Frustrating, when you’re waiting for Uncle Faisal back in SA to come through with the check for another box of ammo for the AKs.
All part of the didactic purpose, m’boy. Money well spent.

I too think we need to take off the gloves. We should fight a war of annihilation, not a war of attrition.
Dad’s Oliver Peoples tortoise shell frames speak of his sense for fashion.
We share the same biology
Regardless of ideology
What might save us, me and you
Is if the Hezbollah terrorist monkeys love their children too
Nope. Not really feeling it.
Ric –
You cheer me up immensely. I guess it’s just that my social consciousness was pushing me to make better use of our ordnance so that there would be more money left over to help the children
by funding “Early Firearms Safety and Marksmanship” and “Why We Fight Islamist Terror” classes in charter schools.
Yah. That’s the ticket!
Terrorist shmerrorist, nobody kills more people than Klaus. I very nearly didn’t survive watching Klaus’s video. Fear him.
Is if the Hezbollah terrorist monkeys love their children too
If only.
That’s the root of the problem. If you think that this life does not matter, and that the only thing that matters is the next life granted to you by your god, then what we have with Islam is the inevitable result.
Yeah, I know, preaching to the converted yet again.
The first line above was supposed to be quoted. Must’ve misspelled the html. My margaritas are 1 part each tequila, mix, and ice, so there you are.
Teresina Capone always insisted, “Al’s a good boy!”
So, you really weren’t brushing three times a day, were you dad?
Granddaddy’s British. Who knew?
TMJ – remember a few years back when a Bradley was disabled and the crew got away? Everyone was dancing on it? A camera crew was right up close filming the happy victory over the crusaders? Then we hit it with a missile?
Good times, good times.
Do you have a link to that video, Mikey? I’d love to see it…
