CLAREMONT – A Claremont McKenna psychology professor pulled herself over for speeding Sunday, whereupon she dragged herself out of her vehicle by the hair, scribbled a swastika onto her forehead in lipstick, then showered herself with racial epithets while clubbing herself on the head with a tire iron, police said Monday.
Kerri Dunn, who recently denied allegations that she vandalized her own car and filed a false hate crime report after a March 9 Free Speech seminar, is reported to be in stable condition.
This latest incident prompted all five of the Claremont Colleges to cancel classes March 22 for renewed teach-ins and rallies against hate crimes. More than 1,000 are expected to attend this evening’s rally at Claremont McKenna — the second such event in two weeks — where students are expected to push for racial and ethnic tolerance, as well as for “Free Pizza Fridays,” and a new Area Studies major focusing on the semiotics of PlayStation.
Ms. Dunn, who admitted herself to Cedar Sinai Hospital, is said to be resting comfortably.
