Found this cool li’l blog on the pw referer’s list, “The Poor Man,” written by a guy named Andrew Northrup (who appears to be a Red Sox fan).
Which reminds me: Jim Rice should be in the Hall of Fame. Rico Petricelli? No. Rick Burleson? ‘fraid not.
Anyway. Listen→
Slate’s Robert Wright has some good thoughts on the idea that Israel’s present is America’s future. Even handed in treatment, but not optimistic, especially about the parallels between Sharon’s utter failure of a terrorism policy and Bush’s on which the jury is still out. I will come out as big supporter of the “kill the motherfuckers” school, but Wright strikes a note of caution. Noted.
Victor Davis Hanson, um, has a different take. I have this re-occurring nightmare where Mr. Hanson comes apon a group of pacifists, and proceeds to beat them to death with their own protest placards, all while lecturing them on Perecles. Much of my pro-war sentiment can be traced to this disturbing dream.
I had just the opposite happen to me, Andrew. The dream’s too painful to recount in any detail, but I will say that it involved James Zogby, some wrestling tights, and the guy who played Kuch in Vision Quest.
Whatever sympathy I have left for the Arabs can be traced directly to Zogby’s, er, performance, during those magical nocturnal reveries.
The beauty…
The horror…
