Justin Somebody, at anti-war dot something-or-other, thinks war bloggers are a homogeneous bunch — and borderline evil, to boot. Oh, and racist. Really, really racist.
By comparison, clearthinking anti-war Justin — as a guy who runs a site called anti-war dot something-or-other — is himself quite unique. And racially sensitive. Really, really, racially sensitive. Among other “See? Aren’t I unique and racially sensitive?” insights and revelations you’re likely to cull from Justin Somebody’s affectedly “brave” and “earnest” anti-war site: 1) he’s anti-war; 2) he’s brave, earnest, and really, really sensitive; 3) Israel typically brutalizes poor, disenfranchised Palestinians, often just for kicks; 4) American foreign policy typically manifests itself in the brutalization of weaker countries (usually those filled with poor, brown people) — often, just for kicks; 5) the war on terror has brutalized (in turn) Afghan refugees, Taliban prisoners, homeland civil liberties, the Arab street, Muslims in the U.S., Arabs as a people, and the prose of Ken Layne; 6) Justin is brave and earnest — a beacon to civil tolerance in a roiling cybersea of virulent, frothing, Zionist-controlled binary coding; 7) he’s particularly fond of the word brutal (in virtually all its forms); 8) he’s brave and earnest…
Yawn…. ‘T Seems Justin Somebody isn’t getting enough anti-war-ish attention. That he desperately wants to be the new Teddy Rall (albeit it of an isolationist stripe) is painfully obvious. “Take me on!” he fairly screams — some cut-rate Stuart Smalley flexing his newly discovered self-love muscle. “I matter!”
But no, he doesn’t. We’ve already got feckless Teddy boy — and not only does he make many of the same arguments as Justin Somebody, be he can draw, too!
Damian Penny has more to say. Me, I’ll pass…
