He’ll Be Back

In a speech given at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA, this morning, Vice President Cheney praised the Bush administration’s pro-active strategy for fighting the War on Terror, noting that while diplomacy has it’s place, our enemies in this conflict can’t be readily appeased. In short, they love death, and we love life:

Listen. And understand. [They’re] out there. [They] can’t be bargained with. [They] can’t be reasoned with. [They don’t] feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And [they] absolutely will not stop — ever — until you are dead.*

*(Okay, so I couldn’t find the exact text of Cheney’s speech, but this’ll do…)

My kindgdom for a hydraulic press. And a drug-free Edward Furlong.

[update: here’s the complete text of the speech. Cheney’s actual words: “Such an enemy cannot be deterred, contained, appeased, or negotiated with. It can only be destroyed — and that, ladies and gentlemen, is the business at hand.” See? Almost like he’s channeling James Cameron. Hat tip to John Cole for posting the link]
