“Police in Eureka say a woman who allegedly shot a man to death because she thought he molested her granddaughter apparently got the wrong guy,” The Modesto Bee reports.
“Dianna Mae Preston of Trinidad is being held for investigation of murder.”
Investigators said yesterday that Preston shot Kevin LaPorta of Dinsmore Friday night in a parking lot — then followed him into a Chinese restaurant and shot him twice more.
LaPorta was the little girl’s father.
Police say DNA evidence eliminated LaPorta as the molester. They say they told the girl’s mother and she told Preston. But Preston apparently didn’t believe it.
Oh, well…if she didn’t believe the DNA evidence…
Investigators say Preston donned a wig and sunglasses and waited for LaPorta near his acupunture clinic in Eureka. She allegedly emptied her 38-caliber revolver at him — then shot him twice more after he managed to make it inside the restaurant.
Hmm. Wonder if ol’ Dianna Mae will believe the state of California when they tell her that the syringes they’re fixing on sticking her with contain sodium pentothal, pancuronium bromide, and potassium chloride — all in lethal dosages…?
