Thanks to Christopher Pellerito at the consistently impressive Liberty Blog for pointing out Matthew Edgar’s Daily Thoughts and Commentary. Turns out Matthew is an undergrad at the University of Denver, where many of the Protein Wisdom crew teach. He’s also a research associate at the Independence Institute in Golden, CO and a writer for Politics.com.
Krikey! He’s done more in his nineteen years than I have in my…well, more than nineteen years. Which just goes to show that the Surgeon General’s latest “war,” this time on Coca-Cola, is remarkably ill-conceived. Where would any of us be without caffeine and sugar? Keep up the good work, Matt! And as for the Surgeon General…well, I’ll let Mr. Pellerito sum up:
The Surgeon General, with a straight face, released his Vision for the Future, advocating a variety of social engineering initiatives to fight the menace of obesity.
I cannot think of any better response to this than to call for the abolition of the Surgeon General’s office, as they have proven that they either have nothing better to do, or are capable of doing nothing more productive than micromanaging Americans’ diets.
