“A bus plunged through the stone wall of a bridge Thursday and fell 28 feet, crashing through the roof of a building used to store mattresses,” KMOV in Missouri reports.

“Seven people were hurt in the accident, only one seriously enough to be admitted to a hospital, said Carthage Police Sgt. Doug Dickey.”

‘God’s watching out for these people,’ he said.

Ken Smith ran to the scene to help after watching the accident from his window at Leggett Platt Inc.’s quality assurance offices.

‘It was just like in that movie Speed,’ he said.

“Well, except that Speed had Sandra Bullock in it,” Smith conceded. “And Keanu Reeves, of course. And there was no crash into a mattress warehouse in the movie. In Speed, there was a bomb on the bus, and many of the passengers actually got off the bus onto another vehicle by walking across a kind of makeshift plank. None of that stuff happened here, but still…

‘…Come to think of it, in Speed, the story took place much earlier in the day, didn’t it? And I don’t remember any stone walls being crashed through. Also, didn’t Keanu and Sandra eventually hook up and like, y’know, get to gropin’ each other in the end? Because the busdriver in this case was kinda older and heavyset and covered in blood and coffee. And the women on the bus were all like 100-years old and not so sexy. I don’t think anybody was making out on this trip, is what I’m getting at.

‘But they did both have buses in ’em, this incident and the movie Speed. And that’s saying something. Right?”
