Hangovers and sniffles: if days had “themes,” today’s theme would be “hungover with the sniffles.” Used to be that Nyquil could dry me up; not so with this latest fiesty cold. I’m, uh…thick with sluggish unhealth, I guess you’d say. And it doesn’t help that I drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of non-nutritious garbage yesterday. My body is quite mad at me — as well it should be. I mean, c’mon: tater dogs? That’s no way to keep the machine running smoothly.

My wife (bless her germ-free heart) took some time today to get the site ready for syndication; we’re also working on a few other site improvements (newsletter feature, crisper graphics, etc.). Plus, we’re thinking about serializing some of our original fiction — ala hipster blogger Oliver Willis. Hell, I’d get my novel done a lot sooner if I gave myself stricter deadlines…

Both LGF’s Charles Johnson and Samizdata’s Perry de Haviland have written to tell me that in Mac IE5 our site isn’t displaying properly (lots of empty space between the protein wisdom banner and the actual blog entries). Anybody with any idea why this might be, please — please! — let us know. Damn browser-compatibility issues…
