Reacting to some of the postings offered in my absence.

1.  On the State Department blocking lawyers from representing Benghazi whistle blowers:  two possible ways to go on this one.  First, the old standard:  most transparent administration EVAH!  — though that’s getting tired, I think.  So second, Darleen had it exactly right:  what difference does it make at this point? Honestly.  Is anyone surprised?  Do we expect there to be some sort of furious media-led backlash?  Do we expect Kerry

State Department blocking lawyers from representing Benghazi whistleblowers [Darleen Click]

Benghazi discussion starts about 3:30 mark According to former US Attorney Joe DiGenova, the State Department is standing in the way of lawyers trying to represent whistleblowers in the ongoing investigation into the events at the US Consolate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. […] “The Department of State is refusing to grant clearances to Victoria (Toensing) and other people who want to represent the whistleblowers in an attempt to

Trigger warning for Vagina Warriors — [Darleen Click]

This post discusses a logo cartoon husky dog — a scary symbol of vicious rape culture The new logo for the University of Connecticut’s sports teams is a terrifying husky dog that calls to mind images of sexual assault, says one student. The new logo was unveiled last week, receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from UConn fans who preferred the older, cuter husky (sic) dog. But one student went much further, criticizing

New York News | NYC Breaking News NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) Part of landing gear apparently from one of the jetliners that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, has been found wedged between two buildings, one of them a mosque site, in Lower Manhattan, the NYPD said Friday. The debris is stuck between the back of 51 Park Place and the rear of 50 Murray Street, according

US Army “unintentionally” blocks Baptist website at military bases [Darleen Click]

Trying to access the SBC.net site produces warning flag that the site is blocked due to hostile content The Southern Baptist Convention is the nation’s largest Protestant denomination known for its support of the pro-life movement and its strong belief in traditional marriage. Southern Baptist chaplains reported that SBC.net had been blocked at military installations around the nation. An Air Force officer told Fox News that when he tried to

If you want to revisit the last 8-years or so of protein wisdom — condensed into about 45 minutes — listen to the first 1:30 of Mark Levin’s show from last evening.  It has it all:  the ruling class vs. the rest of us; an unhelpful, quasi-Visogothic (and most decidedly Hobbity) attack on the GOP House leadership (who it turns out was conspiring with Democrats to exempt lawmakers and their

An omnibus recommendations thread! [bh]

Having been given a hyper-violent and threatening order to keep the blog both “up” and “current” it seems wise to comply. So… y’all see any good movies lately? Read any interesting books? Got any recipes for using up that left over ricotta in the fridge? Insane fighting styles? Pick-up lines? Cocktails that use Aperol? Fuel additives? Uhhh… shovels, maybe, any new and exciting shovel modifications out there? Look, I don’t

I’ll be away much of today and tomorrow, so let this stand as an open thread of sorts for you all to place any links you’d like others to see and discuss.  There’s much going on — in fact, it’s overwhelming at times just how much the government and its bureaucratic enforcers have been unleashed against its putative sovereigns — and so I encourage those of you with posting privileges

It isn’t all misery in Obama’s America

For instance, it was exactly one year ago today that our youngest, Tanner, gave us a scare — and my wife a memorable scar — when he entered our world by way of emergency C-section. Happy Birthday, littlest one!  The joy you’ve brought us is exceeded only by the infinite sprawl of space.  And even there it’s almost too close to call.
