Did hateful rhetoric trigger #SanBernardinoShooting ?? [Darleen Click]

Those 14 dead and 21 wounded victims of Syed Farook and his wife may have had it coming for calling their holiday party a “Christmas Party”

NBC’s Kerry Sanders speculated about the motivation behind the murder of 14 people in San Bernardino, California Thursday, saying on MSBNC’s Morning Joe that calling the holiday party a “Christmas party” might have been one of the potential triggers.

Host Mika Brzezinski asked Sanders about reports that one of the shooters attended an office holiday party, before leaving after a dispute and returning with weapons. “I wonder if there’s ever going to be any resolution in terms of what that dispute was about that happened before the suspect stormed out?” she asked.

“I think we’ll eventually get some indication on what the dispute is about,” he responded. “This was a holiday party. Maybe it was called a ‘Christmas party’. There’s so many potential triggers here, it’s really unclear.”

Yeah, well yeesh, one only need read English translations of the Arabic inscriptions wreathing the exterior and interior of the Dome of the Rock to catch an inkling where the “rhetoric” begins and ends.

  2. bgbear says:

I think “Grown up Christmas Wish” was playing at the party.

I suspect that Kerry Sanders is as big a bufoon as his name would suggest. But if that’s not the case, then I’m going to have to start supporting Trump. Because what this country will really need is more Muslim control.

  4. Is there any place we can see the English translation, SD?

    Sure: here

Inscriptions on the Dome of the Rock

On the Outer Face of the Octagonal Arcade

South: In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. There is no god but God alone, without partner. Say: He is God, One, God the Everlasting, who has not begotten and has not been begotten. He is without equal [Qur’an 112] Muhammad is God’s messenger, may God bless him.

South West: In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. There is no god, but God alone, without partner. Muhammad is God’s messenger. God and His angels send blessings on the Prophet.

West: O, you who believe, send blessings on him and salute him with all respect [Q 33:54/56]. In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. There is no god but God alone. Praise

North West: be to God who has not taken a son and who does not have any partner in dominion nor any protector out of humbleness. Magnify Him with repeated magnificats [Q 17:111]. Muhammad is God’s messenger,

North: may God, His angels and His messengers bless him and God grant him peace and mercy. In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful, there is no god, but God alone, without partner.

North East: To Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise. He gives life and He makes to die; He is powerful over all things (Q 64:1 and 57:2]. Muhammad is God’s messenger, may God bless him and accept his intercession on the day of resurrection for his community.

East: In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. There is no god but God alone, without partner. Muhammad is God’s messenger, may God bless him […] God’s servant,

South East: ‘Abd al-Malik, prince of the believers, built this dome in the year seventy-two, may God accept [it] from him and be pleased with him. Amen. Lord of the Worlds. Praise be to God.

Inscription on the Inner Face of the Octagonal Arcade

South: In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. There is no god but God alone, without partner. To Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise. He gives life and He makes to die; He is powerful over all things [Q 64:1 and 57:2]. Muhammad is God’s servant and His messenger.

South East: God and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O, you who believe, send blessings on him and salute him with all respect [Q 33:54/56]. May God bless him and grant him peace and mercy. O, people of the book, do not go beyond the bounds in your religion,

East: nor say anything but the truth about God. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only God’s messenger, His word that He committed to Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him. So, believe in God and His messengers. Do not say ‘three’. Refrain,

North East: it is better for you. For God is one god. Glory be to Him—that He should have a son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth. God suffices for a guardian. The Messiah will not disdain to be

North: God’s servant; nor will the angels who are stationed near to Him. Whoever disdains to serve him and waxes proud, He will muster them to Him, all of them [Q 4:169-71/171-72]. O, God, bless your messenger and servant, Jesus,

North West: son of Mary. Peace be upon the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he is raised up alive. That is Jesus, son of Mary, in word of truth, about which they are doubting. It is not for God to take a son. Glory be to Him.

West: When He decrees a thing, he only says to it ‘Be’, and it is. God is my lord and your lord. So serve Him. This is a straight path [Q 19:34-7/33-36]. God, His angels and men possessed of knowledge and upholding justice bear witness that there is no god but He. There is no god but He

South West: the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. The true religion with God is Islam. Those who were given the book did not dissent except after knowledge came to them, when they became envious of each other. Whosoever disbelieves in God’s signs, God will swiftly call to account [Q 3:16-17/18-19].

Lee Smith, Tablet: The Israeli Castration Complex — From the 1972 Munich massacre to Anne-Marie Slaughter’s ‘crazy idea’

Kinda puts Mr. Trump’s insistence that Israel is “going to have to make sacrifices” in a nasty light, don’t it? I mean, what, he’s never heard of the short distance from the West Bank to Ben Gurion International Airport, a distance well within mortar range as remarked by Khaled Mashal dwelling in his lush Qatari hotel suite? Daily stabbings, car rammings or shootings of Israelis aren’t enough?

I guess it would if you insist on characterizing what Trump said as “insistence”.

“A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal — whether or not Israel’s willing to sacrifice certain things,” the real-estate mogul said. “They may not be, and I understand that, and I’m OK with that, But then you’re just not going to have a deal.” (“If I win, I’ll let you know six months from the time I take office” if a Middle East peace agreement is possible, Trump pledged.)

Personally, I don’t regard stating the obvious “nasty”, but maybe that’s just me.

  13. Darleen says:

Absolutely no one that wants to be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate should EVER have a statement that contains ” whether or not Israel’s willing to sacrifice certain things ”

It is not up to Israel to sacrifice anything. Ever.Again.

People need to understand the mentality of the Islamists – from Gaza to Syria, Hamas to ISIS – as clearly demonstrated by Farook and wife

Murdering the kafir was more important then even their infant daughter.

    fuck ’em, fuck ’em all.

  14. […] that holiday party was called a Christmas party- there’s just so many triggers possible that motives are unclear.   Egad.  No.  No, really the motives are not unclear, not even a little […]

  15. Ernst Schreiber says:

I’m no fan of Trump, but this seems rather innocuous. Can I think of a half-dozen different ways in which he could have expressed himself better? Probably. “Concessions” instead of “sacrifice,” acknowledgement that both sides to make concessions and neither side is going to get everything they want.

Well, at least I thought of three.

Next they’ll be blaming it on climate change. As in, “the drought made the crazy man go crazy.”
