Parodies and satires are an acquired taste. I happen to love This is Spinal Tap because it finds the right balance of voice in bringing every earnest cliche present in rock biographies to the fore while skewering the genre with twists of the absurd.
And if there is one current head-scratching cultural phenom more worthy of parody than Fifty Shades of Grey, I haven’t seen it.
So I bring to your attention a delicious little parody via Amazon called Fifty Shades of Zane Grey. An inspired mash-up of soft-core bondage porn & purple-prosed westerns.

Funny how the review talks about the heavy drug use, yet my hubby was a roadie with Dio in 85/86 and says Ronnie James never touched drugs & was faithful to his wife (who was the manager)
Now, others in the band were a bit different ….
Maybe we could even see Fifty Shades Of Neigh covering John Effing Kerry’s tenure as Secretariat of State
Fifty Shades of Gru — the next entry in the Despicable Me franchise.
Fifty Shades of Blue — next entry in the MegaMind franchise

Thumbs up on “Decline”, particularly for Ozzy’s breakfast preparation.
In the Spinal Tap realm, I also recommend the Christopher Guest films: “Best in Show”, “A Mighty Wind”, and “Waiting for Guffman”. That all three have some Fred Willard in them is just icing on the cake.

For those of you who know Little Miss Attila, JP Mac is her husband.
