Netanyahu: Why is Obama insisting on ethnic purity for Israel? [Darleen Click]

Why indeed?

More

In an interview Sunday morning on the CBS News show “Face the Nation,” Netanyahu said he was “baffled” by the criticism.

“What we are being criticized for is that some Jewish residents of Jerusalem bought apartments, legally, from Arabs in a predominantly Arab neighborhood and this is seen as a terrible thing,” he said, adding that the Jerusalem neighborhood in question is three minutes from his office.

“If somewhere in America someone said Jews cannot buy apartments here, there would be an uproar. I do not accept this.”

The White House strongly criticized last week the publishing of tenders for the construction of 2,610 housing units in the Givat Hamatos neighborhood that were approved in December 2012, saying they would “poison the atmosphere” and distance Israel from “even its closest allies.”

Netanyahu said the idea that Jews and Arabs cannot buy housing in each other’s neighborhoods is bad for peace. The Israeli leader said he and President Obama during their meeting last week talked about settlements in general, and that Netanyahu suggested the heart of the matter is not settlements but rather “are the Palestinians ready to recognize a nation-state for the Jewish people” in the same way that Israel has recognized a Palestinian nation-state.

Now, here’s an interesting thing. The video clip above did not air on CBS this morning. It was a web-only release.

You can see CBS’s transcript of Oct 5’s show here and this segment is missing. What did air? What did CBS feel was the only thing its broadcast audience should see? Bibi making positive statments about President IWonPenPhone.

Anyone watching Sunday’s broadcast of Face the Nation on CBS did not hear critical comments about President Obama from Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Those were edited out and sequestered to CBS’s website, leaving only the positive comments aired.

What Americans heard as they sat in front of their televisions Sunday morning was Netanyahu’s positive comments about his relationship with Obama over images of the two leaders smiling in one another’s presence. In describing his relationship with the president, Netanyahu said:

Actually, it’s quite good. We had a conversation, I don’t want to say like an old married couple, but the president said that he’s had more meetings with me than with any other foreign leader. I think you get to a point of mutual respect, you cut to the chase very quickly. You talk about the real things, openly, as is befitting of real allies. I think we have a relationship of mutual respect, and mutual appreciation.

Isn’t that special?

Netanyahu isn’t baffled at all, though his pretense to bafflement is a useful rhetorical stance. I mean, isn’t Bibi’s rhetorical question merely aimed to expose racism? And Hells bells, we can’t have CBS airing actual accusations of racism aimed at bonafide racists, now can we? After all, voters — which is to say CBS’s primary audience — who voted for and continue to revere these political lowlifes might discover themselves to have committed a shameful act — and CBS wouldn’t want those consequences to fall on either itself or its advertizing sponsors.

    – This weeks jump the shark moment for the Bumblefuck admin and its ankle licking media. Apparently some editors are starting to get tired of the almost daily embarrassments so they’re “managing” the non-news,

Am I the only one wishing the shark he keeps jumping was one of those leaping Great Whites from South Africa?

  4. sdferr says:

The White House responded to Netanyahu’s reasonable criticism with a blast of vitriol today, indicating clearly that Bibi hit a nerve. But how not, when the ClownDisaster administration clings to the doctrine of Plessy v. Ferguson?

  5. BigBangHunter says:

    – They can cling all they want too, in fact I really hope they do. The chickens are coming home to roost for IWonPenPhone and his clown car cabinet and the more they fight it the bigger and brighter the crash and burn will be. I can’t wait.

    – You see little signs of it here and there as the fawning press and main sycophants are beginning to write posts of displeasure and criticisms. It will grow and get worse and worse with almost 18 months still left to go. Hopefully it will be so bad he’ll need to flee the WH when the time comes. Not enough, not nearly enough for the damage the bastard has done but it would be something at least. I’m hoping for a scandal that drives him out like Nixon, but not until his last week. Don’t want plugs anywhere near the oval office.

From the Obama House Organ and its second most fawning main sycophant after Lynn Sweet:

    **** Sneed exclusive . . .

    The Valerie shocker . . .

Sneed hears White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is this/close to President Barack Obama and his family, may be the worst abuser of her Secret Service security.

As the Secret Service reels from agency bumbling and the forced resignation Wednesday of its director Julia Pierson, two top sources tell Sneed Jarrett uses her security detail to go everywhere with her except the bathroom.

Sneed is told Jarrett, who was assigned round-the-clock personal bodyguards presumably through executive order by Obama in 2009, “practically uses her detail as a valet service,” said a Sneed source.

Is Jarrett, who once employed first lady Michelle Obama before Michelle married Obama, on some sort of excellent adventure at the government’s expense?

Is Jarrett’s excellent adventure costing the country millions to protect the president’s best friend? Is this expense justifiable or is it an abuse of power? ****
