It’s October 1st and, by golly, I’m going to resort to Rule 5 [Darleen Click] (sticky, new posts below) UPDATED 2x

This is usually Jeff’s gig where he brings us up-to-date on Casa Goldstein and if he’s been able to install a armadillo proof liquor cabinet (and biometrics to keep his credit cards out of the paws of the shelled scoundrel).

Casa Click, on the other hand, hasn’t seen any projects worthy of extensive mention. Our most recent achievement was kicking cable to the curb last month — 500 channels we never watched — just have streaming on the flat screen.

I do engage in some creative things outside of this blog – have done some book covers, some photography and am teaching myself Adobe Illustrator to go along with the Photoshop. Today, as part of the bleg portion of asking you all to hit the tip jar so Protein Wisdom can keep going through what is shaping up to be – as the Chinese curse portends – interesting times, I’ll share one of our (Rule 5 qualifier) photos.

UPDATE Jeff offers timely advice here.

Her elbows look like they might be too sharp.

  2. Chicken legs.

Next time, please consult me, the Rule 5 Mojo Master [ret.].

  3. Dave J says:

D, Is she looking for the remote?

  4. bgbear says:

Is there any way to sit comfortably in that chair thingy? She certainly doesn’t look comfortable.

  5. McGehee says:

She’s waiting for me, and getting impatient.

  6. Ernst Schreiber says:

    She looks bored to me.

So yup, must be waiting for McGehee.

  7. RI Red says:

D, is she related to you? And does she have an older sister?
JK, mrs. red keeps me out of the henhouse.

  8. happyfeet says:

don’t touch her she could have ebola

  9. Is that your word for ‘cooties’, Happy?

    I’ll risk it.

  11. serr8d says:

Looks like you generously applied the Mannikin Filter®™; given there’s a plasticity-affection glow on her most flexuous surfaces.

  12. sdferr says:

Gig frogs. It’s bad form to gig tits and boobies.

  13. happyfeet says:

where did this blog go all day

    i clicked and clicked

    i packed a box

    I clicked some more

  14. happyfeet says:

why is my comment in moderation

  15. newrouter says:

back on line: hurray to pw

  16. McGehee says:

Oh, by the way: PW is back.

  17. Ernst Schreiber says:

I take it then that the Kazahk cybersquatters have been evicted?

  18. happyfeet says:

    rly?

  19. Darleen says:

Actually serr8d, I didn’t do a lot of PS on her at all … studio lighting did most of the highlighting, I did minimal skin smoothing mostly to even out the tone but I rarely take out texture. In fact I use the high pass filter (2.4) with the layer set to linear light to make sure no texture is lost.

  20. sdferr says:

Megan Kelly chose the gig Jen Psaki using Leon Panetta as her trident, and a nice job she made of it too.

  21. Pixy Misa says:

Sorry about that folks, hardware failure at 3AM my time, so I didn’t see it for a few hours.

  22. serr8d says:

Heh. Borrowed Jolina for a just a quick spin.. )

  23. serr8d says:

    Moderation? Seriously?

  24. serr8d says:

Ahhh, that explains McGehee’s comment “PW is back”. Good to see the spammers hammered, though.

  25. McGehee says:

I’ve released the comments from moderation, but if the system is only letting admins’ comments post, I don’t have access to change that.

  26. Silver Whistle says:

It’s a good day when sdferr shows some boobies.

  27. Sadly, Serr8d, I’m a Chrysler Man.

  28. serr8d says:

    Title race, Bob?

Not your average backyard Muslim scaredy-goat, that one.. )

  29. Jeff G. says:

Thanks to SW, Terry H, Jonah C, Evan C, William P, and serr8d, in addition to those I noted in the earlier post about my not having a desk.

Just got a dedicated broadband line, so later today I’ll try to post pics of what we’ve gotten completed so far with the house. Still haven’t any furniture, save for some tables and the like; order was supposed to arrive Wednesday but UPS is now telling us Monday, which sucks because we have people coming by this weekend, and they’re going to have to sit on the floor.

Not the best bit of entertaining we’ve ever done.

At any rate, thanks for the contributions, and thanks for bearing with me. There’s still so much we need to get the house in order, but much of what we spent on is behind the walls or making up the floors. Which makes me feel good. Like something substantial is being lived in.

  30. Ernst Schreiber says:

    hardware failure

The armadillo’s been pissing in the server room again?

  31. Ernst Schreiber says:

Screw the furniture. You’re going to need a bigger boat negatively pressurized safe room and a crateful of biohazard suits.

  32. Too bad about Jeff’s guns all landing-up at the bottom of that lake.

  33. Ernst Schreiber says:

You wouldn’t want to shoot an Ebola infected hobgoblin zombie anyways.

  34. geoffb says:

The armadillo’s been pissing in the server room again?

Just pray he hasn’t been feasting on any Dallas “bush meat.”

  35. sdferr says:

have to sit on the floor

Ah, but this is why God made drywall buckets.

  36. NotquiteunBuckley says:

None of you fucking idiots listens to Bach.

You got other shit going on.

    Okay.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JQm5aSjX6g

    Type it.

    Type it out loud.

    Type it out loud shouting.

Shout it out loud whilst typing “Beauty has to wait because ME!!!”

Gram Parsons wrote a song for you about it.

    Steel Panther thrives.

  37. sdferr says:

None of you fucking idiots listens to Bach.

    Oh?

You sir are a jackass. How’s about you fuck off?

  38. happyfeet says:

    who’s bach?

  39. I take umbrage at that remark [umbrage being my only weakness – that’s why I take it without paying for it]!

Why I’ll have you know that this afternoon I was listening to PDQ Bach’s Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice, an opera in one unnatural act and Iphigenia in Brooklyn, so Hoople You, NQUB!

  40. McGehee says:

PW is bach, but that’s old news by now.

  41. Ernst Schreiber says:

P.D.Q. Bach. That’s the guy who killed Moe Zart, right?

  42. Jeff G. says:

Thanks to SDN, Bill S, Patrick C, and Blitz!
