Obama at UN: “I have made it clear that America will not base our entire foreign policy on reacting to terrorism.” ISIS responds with another beheading [Darleen Click]

Obama posturing

Rather, we have waged a focused campaign against al Qaeda and its associated forces – taking out their leaders, and denying them the safe-havens they rely upon.

Yeah, but safe for whom?

An Algerian jihadist group linked to Islamic State released a video Wednesday purportedly showing the beheading of a French tourist who was abducted on Sunday, a U.S. terrorist watchdog group says.

French President Francois Hollande confirmed the killing of Herve Gourdel, condemning it as a “cruel and cowardly” act.

“Our compatriot has been murdered,” Hollande told reporters ahead of his speech to the U.N. General Assembly in New York.

Barry continues:

At the same time, we have reaffirmed that the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam.

Yeah, good luck with that.

And, like, WTF with the gratuitous reference to Ferguson?

In a summer marked by instability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri – where a young man was killed, and a community was divided. So yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions.

So the usual race-mongers take to looting in a small town and that rises to “instability” on par with Hamas raining rockets on Israel in its quest to kill all Jews or Russian-backed “rebels” in Ukraine shooting down a passenger airline?

Good flippin’ lord.

  1. McGehee says:

The only way to not be at war with Islam these days is to not be a party to civilization.

    Which is apparently Obama’s strategery.

  2. BigBangHunter says:

    – Fake equivalency and flawed relativism is all the Left has to cope with their refusal to deal with reality, so they just hop from one bullshit statement to another. When later all the previous statements are proven laughable by events they just shift to another ridiculous meme. Bumblefuck, no doubt gearing the rath of his idiotic base, refused to listen to his commanders and pulled all troops out of IRAQ causing eventual total breakdown of the peace we had achieved, and giving the Jihadists time to regroup, so now in the place of Al Qaeda we have ISIS. Bumblefucks response:

    * ISIS is not Muslim
    * ISIS is not Islam
    * ISIS is not a state
    * The unwar with ISIS is not a war
    * We are not at war with Islam

    – While in the meantime we are back to bombing the crap out of Muslim terrorists. (that at one time were not really terrorists, but just humble Muslims reacting angrily to a blaspheming video.)

    – In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny “What a total pack of MAROONS”.

  3. sdferr says:

Are we sure ObaZma’s strategy doesn’t simply resolve to being black? It’s complex enough to account for all manner of displacement, misdirection and foolhardiness.

  4. BigBangHunter says:

    – You are probably spot on sdferr. Even some staunch Progressives are writing now that his only legacy will be “he was the first black president”.

  5. McGehee says:

I still hope someday to see the first successful black POTUS.

  6. sdferr says:

    I’m awaiting a pollak.

    You mean Bill Clinton wasn’t?

  8. BigBangHunter says:

    – More Bumblefuck at the UN….

“Since 2008, the Obama administration has promoted the argument that what we face in the guise of Al Qaeda, or ISIS, or any other part of the global Jihadi coalition, is simply “Violent Extremism” that grows out of “local grievances.”

This is Beltway speak for an academic idea called Social Movement Theory. (If you want the full history behind this idea and who pitched it to the White House, here is a piece on its origins).

In short, this view sees the violence of jihadi groups against Christians, Yazidis, or even fellow Muslims, as a reaction to the injustice endemic in their societies. Years of oppression by Saddam, Maliki, or the Assad family will inevitably lead to religious genocide and mass slaughter when circumstances allow (e.g. after US forces leave Iraq).”

  10. geoffb says:

So yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions.

Which his Party stokes for political gain.

  11. Squid says:

I’m gonna post that one up next to “you can keep your doctor.”

In war, to vote “present” is to surrender to the side that votes “yea.”

  16. newrouter says:

    >64 So the Iranian-backed jihadis are taking over Yemen? And Obama bombed the sunni rebels, but not the shia rebels in Yemen?

I’m sure that’s just a coincidence and not anything Valerie Jarrett had anything to do with.

    – It’s also interesting that whenever Bumblefuck finds himself caught in a dis proven policy approach (in this case his entire ME/terrorisn crap) he reverts to a strawman of his own, or his feckless staffs, design, then assuring everyone that he won’t fall pray to the non-existent issue or pressure. To wit. who the fuck ever suggested that he, or any other president, run with a naive one dimensional foreign policy. Total bullshit, no one ever did that, and he knows it. It’s just pure agitprop bunk they use to fill huge gaps of missing leadership and to try to appease his asshole base.

  18. Silver Whistle says:

I need to be convinced we’re even doing that. I would like to see the list of targets destroyed and estimated enemy casualties. Nighttime bombing of targets the administration warned the enemy about days before? This is the lamest bombing campaign in the history of airborne warfare.

  19. This is, foreign policy / national security wise, the lamest Administration in History.

The American People are in a more dangerous situation now than they have ever been – greater than in The War Of 1812, in the 1930’s-1940’s, and during The Cold War.

The Jarrett Junto has accomplished in six short years what our past enemies were never able to do.

    It’s Treason Within.

Correct. He just likes to Party.

  22. McGehee says:

    All for the Party!

  23. geoffb says:

“The president launches attacks on the Islamic State with two weapons systems that were targeted for elimination by the administration years before their usefulness ended or any replacements were ready. . . . Doing the math, we see that Obama has already consumed in one night of strikes 47% of next year’s planned purchases. The naval inventory will soon be depleted at this rate unless we crank up the arsenal of democracy and stop beating our swords into solar panels.”

Whether this is a success or not depends on just who is the enemy and who is being disarmed.

Oh, and the A-10 should be added to the Tomahawk and the F-22 in that list since it was almost killed and now is being deployed too.

  24. Americans will die because this Nancy Boy man-child has severely damaged our national defense capabilities.

    And the Congress doesn’t care.

They are derelict in their Duty as long as they will not Impeach this Treasonous Rat Bastard.

  25. sdferr says:

IVotePresentAndWonPenPhone said at the UN yesterday: “As bleak as the landscape appears, America will never give up the pursuit of peace.”

Clearly, he rejects the sound advice that if one wants peace he must prepare for war. To that extent he long ago gave up the “pursuit of peace”, and we can see the result.

  26. sdferr says:

We can see, by the way, the need IVotePresentAndWonPenPhone has of an immediate and massive distraction from his 180 degree reversal of course in Iraq and now Syria.

And we can now see the aide-de-camp come to the rescue with a ready-made distraction whipped out from his back pocket: Holder resigns!

As distraction it’s a lovely two-fer, taking eyes off the stupidity of the war-maker-in-Chief and simultaneously rousing the leftist crowd into a furor at they attempt to preserve their nasty social justice dogma in the seat of the nation’s steward of “justice”, doling out injustice upon injustice.

Are there journalist embeds with the American forces in Iraq? In West Africa? If not (and why not?), are the journalists demanding access?

Well, well, well… From the Editorial Board of Investor’s Business Daily, we learn [tip of the fedora to GeoffB and Instapundit]: The president launches attacks on the Islamic State with two weapons systems that were targeted for elimination…
