Wow, Man, did you see that chick’s Nikon D-3s? Sheesh. You cannot take a bad picture with that camera. And yet when they show you the photos she shot they are all ordinary. Extraordinary models, extraordinary jewelry and clothing, incredible props, and I’m thinking, come on, I get sexier shots of inanimate food. Her composition skills are pedestrian. There. I said it . She’s got one of the best cameras on Earth and the most we see her do is climb a ladder for an elevated shot. I do as well at home in my kitchen with a 3/4 sensor. Oh how I covet her full sensor camera. I shall have one! I could do better with it and with her extraordinary fill light equipment, as if that camera needs it, it doesn’t need extra fill light even for light sculpting purposes, and with a human assistant too. I could do much better with all that and by playing not by working.
In real life I’m usually not this arrogant. I just couldn’t take my eyes off that camera even with all that other stuff going on. It pisses me off.
I have a “Girls & Guns” 2013 calendar I picked up in Vegas last year, from The Gun Store, put out by Blackheart International (photographer Silton Buendia, the ‘Fight Photographer’). They support, with profits from the sale of their calendars, the Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation, Randy Coture’s effort to help wounded veterans.
BHI’s 2013 calendar is a bit dark, given most of the shots were seemingly taken in black-mesh wire cages (think MMA cage matches…Silton didn’t get too far from home to shoot this one).
The MagPul offering seems to be much brighter, and also involves a charity. Magpul’s calendar…
This year a portion of the proceeds from the calendar will go to the USMC Reconnaissance Foundation. The foundation provides assistance to wounded Reconnaissance Marines and Marine Reconnaissance families. Last year’s calendar raised over $20,000 for charity. We hope to far exceed that amount this year.
So, there you go. Something for the garage or the workshop.
sigh, I’m getting old and, possibly, spending way too much time shooting firearms. The only thing in the video that interested me was trigger discipline and, by golly, the gals I looked at had their finger outside the trigger guard.
and photography …

Umm, I don’t know. Sometimes I think people get a little carried away. I mean, we are talking about a tool here.
Sometimes gun pron creeps me out a little.

The guns or the gals ? )
There were guns? And what’s not to like? Well, obviously — too many clothes.
“The guns or the gals ?”
The things being turned into phallic symbols.
Make sure you oil it up real good next time you shoot a load. 0_O

I would love to have the resources to do a shoot like that …
best I can do is shoot weddings and families with my Nikon D700

That Roger Taylor (Queen) number you linked, “I’m in Love With My Car”, features lyrics
Oh. Roger now has the AIDS, what killed Freddie Mercury.
So that trope has it’s edge, just not hitting the target you intended. )
Gun pron, bullet pron. Also photography pron.
I buy my dad a “Stacked and Packed” calendar every year. He’s 83 and he digs them.
I thought Roger was a breeder.
Eh?
Freddy was the only queen in Queen.
Roger Taylor isn’t gay he’s just British

Scientists can’t cure AIDS, so they study how to fix the other huge male problem..
