Congrats, ladies! Some of you don’t vote with your female parts!

It’s both surreal and remarkably sad to watch Democrats break out their playbook for every election, and every election run on being “pro-woman” while painting the GOP as in a constant state of war against women.  This is, of course, absurd:  the question seems always to turn on accusations that are on their face bald-faced lies:   Cuccinelli, in this instance, wants to take away a women’s birth control access, as if there’s any shortage of such available at every pharmacy, drug store, etc., not to mention from dispensers on bar room bathroom walls.  And he’s against abortion on demand, which we’re told is an extreme position — whereas abortion right up until live birth, or infanticide, is part and parcel of the Democrats’ platform.  Meaning, I guess, that some women want to reserve the legal right to kill off an inconvenience, and they appreciate the government sanctioning such an act of “choice.”

Meanwhile, with higher taxation, the loss of affordable insurancde policies, and the decline of the economy — and with it, jobs — the Democrats are waging a war on women that sees them increasingly being frozen out of the workforce.  This is the real war on women, but somehow it gets bracketed by talk of blue nosed GOPers, most of them married with kids (proving that yes, they’ve at least heard of sex, if not inadvertently engaged in it, perhaps by tripping and falling and landing with their dick in their unsuspecting wives), wanting to take away a women’s right to engage in all sort of behavior that they have no power to take away.

How this continues to work for Democrats — and it did so here in Colorado to defeat Ken Buck — is in one sense mystifying: common sense militates against such ridiculous arguments, if only because we’re dealing with long established law and no power vested in the elected officials in question to change those laws.  And yet in another sense, it isn’t mystifying at all:  the Democrats have so dumbed down women, and the indoctrination of gender feminism has become so pervasive and “hip,” that many liberal women believe they are being socially rebellious and empowered by becoming, in essence, puppets to the Democrat party, who uses them as a voting bloc based around their ability to sell the most hamfisted and obviously absurd narratives.

There is, however, a bright spot.  And that is that some women (the married kind, many of whom we assume have families) aren’t terribly interested in being used as pawns by the Democrat party that is harming their children, drying up the workforce, and treating them like walking vaginas.  Similarly, some men (the married kind, many of whom we assume have families) aren’t terribly interested in being treated like walking peckers, ready to sell their birthright for the promise of condoms that they can get by the truckload from Target, were they so inclined.

CNS News:

Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe defeated Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia’s gubernatorial election on Tuesday 47.9 percent to 45.5 percent (with 6.6 percent going to Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis), even though McAuliffe lost among women—who are married.

According to the exit poll published by CNN, Cuccinelli defeated McAuliffe among married women 51 percent to 42 percent, with Sarvis taking 7 percent.

Cuccinelli also defeated McAuliffe among married men, 50 percent to 44 percent, with Sarvis taking 6 percent.

Thus, according to the exit poll, Cuccinelli was the clear victor among married people (defeating McAuliffe 50 percent to 43 percent among this demographic), and was slightly more popular among married women than among married men.

However, McAuliffe won a 62 percent to 29 percent landslide among unmarried Virginians.

The Democrat was especially popular with unmarried women, defeating Cuccinelli among that group 67 percent to 25 percent, with Sarvis taking 9 percent. Among unmarried men, McAuliffe bested Cuccinelli 58 percent to 33 percent, with Sarvis taking 9 percent.

One reason the race was so close was because about twice as many married people went out to vote as unmarried people. According to the exit poll, 35 percent of Virginia voters were married women, 32 percent were married men, 18 percent were unmarried women and 16 percent were unmarried men.

Had a higher percentage of Virginia’s married people, especially married women, turned out to vote Cuccinelli could have won.

According to the Washington Post, only about 37 percent of Virginia’s eligible voters actually bothered to vote for their state’s governor on Tuesday. That was up slightly from the 36 percent who voted in Virginia’s gubernatorial election four years ago, but down massively from the 67 percent of eligible voters who turned out in Virginia 1989 gubernatorial election.

There are many ways to read this turnout number.  First, we have to remember that not everyone follows politics as closely as we all do — and yet they would probably tell you that they are politically well-versed, reading the Washington Post, where both conservative George Will and “conservative” Jennifer Rubin were busy writing “a pox on both their houses” columns that, as was the case with Rubin, saw her endorsing the “Libertarian” candidate who it turns out was largely bankrolled by an Obama bundler, and who couldn’t get the support of libertarians Rand or Ron Paul, likely because his support of legalizing marijuana was about the only thing libertarian about the guy:  he couldn’t get behind tax cuts, was for raising taxes on gas, supported a per-mile tax, etc.

And so, with the Washington Post opinion-drivers on the right — an integral part of Virginia’s DC-tethered culture — showing the same kind of either tepid support for Cuccinelli, or actively endorsing either Sarvis or in several cases, McCauliffe, is it really any wonder why disillusioned or confused voters might simply stay home, rather than go throw away a vote on the “Libertarian” both Will and Rubin either tacitly or explicitly supported?

Not to beat a dead horse, but DC insiders hate uncultured interlopers. And that’s how they view the great unwashed in the TEA Party.

And so forgetting (or ignoring) that studies have shown the TEA Party members are better educated and largely more wealth off than they are presented, these insiders — who thrive off the constant deal making and political gamesmanship inside the Beltway — work incessantly to convince you that, well, you are the problem.  Worse still, they work to make you believe that to refuse to accept this reality, you are delusional, extreme, and not terribly politically savvy.  Which is why you need to tough work to the seasoned, ruling class professionals.

After all: it ain’t like they’ve fucked things up beyond repair!

Gghah.

  4. bgbear says:

This unfortunately helps confirm two cynical thoughts I have about the female voting block the Dems count on.

One, the obvious one, is that these single woman are looking to the gov’t as a substitute husband. The second is abortion is so important to these single women because they want to be able to use sex to get what they want (pleasure or power) and face no consequences or have no checks on this exploitation of human biology.

I am not comfortable thinking of single women this way but, it certainly seems like the working model of the left.

  5. Curmudgeon says:

You have it, bgbear. This so explains why you can take the word “feminist”, drop the “femi” (or pull it apart) and add “commu” (or insert it between “Femi” and “nist”).

  6. Mike says:

Spot on, bgbear. As long as the State continues to confiscate resources from the (mostly male) producers so they can be redistributed to (mostly female) consumers, particularly single moms, then having a direct committed relationship with one man will stay low on the priority list. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

I think that’s an unfairly broad brush. In my circles, the women have been brainwashed since around age 12 that Roe v Wade is The Most Important Thing EVAR and that any attempt to limit abortion is like diving down the slippery slope to The Handmaid’s Tale. Basically, if you’ve ever had to sit through Health Class in school, you’ve been programmed. And the strength of the programming goes up exponentially as you’re exposed to Angry Studies professors at college, or to Community Organizers in the cities.

It’s not so much that these women are sex machines, so much as they are acolytes in the Church of the Holy Uterus. It’s an article of faith among them, and woe be to any heretic who challenges the Gospel of Saint Roe.

  9. sdferr says:

. . . woe be to any heretic who challenges the Gospel of Saint Roe.

Which, oddly enough, seems to be extensible even unto the Blessed Jane herself.

But not, perhaps, so as the youth would notice, their remaining uninformed and all.

See, it’s shit like that why you can’t have nice things (like the majority of women votes).

On the left, women aren’t meant to play roles, other than Determiner of Their Own Lives. On the left, women are free to go to church, suck a million dicks, get married, not get married, marry a man, marry a woman, work, stay home, play sports, do ballet, have kids, not have kids, run a business, be a teacher, be a doctor, or follow their talent and bliss wherever it takes them.

Now, I can already write your retort for you. You will:

    1. Scrape up some instance of some lefty denigrating the role that some women has chosen for herself.
    2. Indicate that if we don’t pressure women toward certain roles and away from others that society will fall apart.

But the bottom line is, no one on your side of the fence would ever write an article like this:

    http://jezebel.com/sweden-introduces-new-movie-rating-system-based-on-the-1459696241

  28. palaeomerus says:

” 1. Scrape up some instance of some lefty denigrating the role that some women has chosen for herself.”

Shorter Steve : “No true scotsman dudes!”

” 2. Indicate that if we don’t pressure women toward certain roles and away from others that society will fall apart.”

Shorter Steve: ” If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Unless we think it sucks. Then you gotta get a new one on the exchange. Because we know what’s best for you. And opposing this is trying to blow America up like a terrorist or something. “

  29. palaeomerus says:

“On the left, women are free to go to church, suck a million dicks, get married, not get married, marry a man, marry a woman, work, stay home, play sports, do ballet, have kids, not have kids, run a business, be a teacher, be a doctor, or follow their talent and bliss wherever it takes them. ”

Shorter Steve: ” I haven’t the slightest fucking idea about being a woman on the left or how the left treats women on the right who are merely following their bliss. But I like the truthy sound of the blithering horse shit I just wish-casted up in my blind ignorance. I also have no idea what a bimbo eruption squad is. “

  30. Patrick Chester says:

Hm. Why do I get the feeling the drone dropped its payload and fled until it gets new talking points downloaded?

  31. Mike Soja says:

issteve: “I have an idea for your party to improve it’s standing with women – quit lecturing on how they should behave.”

It’s not about how women should behave, but rather who should pay for their behavior.

issteve: “On the left, women aren’t meant to play roles, other than Determiner of Their Own Lives. On the left, women are free to go to church, suck a million dicks, get married, not get married, marry a man, marry a woman, work, stay home, play sports, do ballet, have kids, not have kids, run a business, be a teacher, be a doctor, or follow their talent and bliss wherever it takes them.”

AND have someone else pay for any of the ugly repercussions of unbridled freedom.

A “Determiner of Their Own Lives” who relies on government force to redistribute dollars to subsidize the mysterious vagaries of her sundry biologic dispositions is not a “Determiner of Their Own Lives”.

  32. Pablo says:

I have an idea for your party to improve it’s standing with women – quit lecturing on how they should behave.

Does that include mandating their health insurance?

  33. palaeomerus says:

If wishes were horses beggars would ride. This is the basis of most democrat public transportation plans. If I want what’s best for you and push you down the stairs then I get credit for wanting what’s best for you and pushing you down the stairs was some sort of weird inexplicable accident no matter how often I do it and if you dare suspect otherwise then you are a mentally retarded evil genius and a racist misogynistic tool of the corporate fatcats who deserves to be pushed down the stairs.

  34. palaeomerus says:

Remember that 1: Democrats respect all women and their accomplishments no matter what because Democrats are enlightened, educated, tolerant people. Also remember that 2: Sarah Palin is an ultra-religious stupid whore bimbo, Michelle Bachman is a crazy brainwashed Jesus freak taliban, Michelle Malkin supports torture and genocide, Ann Coulter is a post op transexual, and Lara Ingrham is a talk slut (whatever the hell that is supposed to be).

Not that any true Democrat would agree with the second part, but a lot of Democrats get laughs from Democrats when they say that second part for the millionth time and they nod their heads. Because know that it’s true. Just ask any Democrat and they’ll tell you. Not that any true Democrat condones the second part. Except when they totally do.

And this wins votes. When outspending the competition 10 to 1. With a ringer in the race. To the tune of a 2% margin. In two counties. Meanwhile more regionalized elections in Virginia saw the State Assembly go to republicans with a super majority and the senate go to a 19/19 split with special elections to be held in the remaining two seats vacated by the newly elected AG and Lt. Governor .

    Yay.

She’s a spirited little filly, I’ll give her that. But again: I wouldn’t wish that writing skillset on anyone, on “my” side of the fence or not. More:

there are only like THREE WOMEN IN ALL OF MIDDLE EARTH

Sure, let’s fuck with the original by adding a whole lot of extraneous women who don’t fit into the plotline. Or we could make Aragorn a badass lesbian chick, maybe. Or we could make Hobbits a race of parthenogenetic females! Seriously, if you find yourself complaining about a movie because it was too faithful to the original book, it’s time to screw the top back on that box of wine and do some thinking.

But why not have some females on the ancient-evil side? I mean, did anyone really see Sauron without all that armor? Why are people assuming that Sauron is male?

Is the point that we should re-author all of the mythologies so that they contain an equitable distribution of women? Or that we ought to alter their movie adaptations to fix historical inequities? If not, there is no fucking point.

  44. Slartibartfast says:

Feel that whoosh? It’s (again) the point blowing right past you. Watching you talk about these issues is fascinating, and comforting. You’re never going to get a majority of women voting for your team.

The reason Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann get criticized isn’t because a woman would dare run for office. It’s *actually* because they’re fucking nuts. That’s the difference between my party and yours.

Note: Fascism looks a lot more like compelling someone to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound than providing them the option of contraception.

And as to the rape rate in sweden – your party would wonder what they were wearing, what neighborhood they chose to walk in, and whether those were all really “legitimate” rapes.

In fact, when you pulled your stats from Wikipedia, you left out one glaring bit of leftism, “the high numbers are explained by a broader legal definition of rape than in other countries, and an effort to register all suspected and repeated rapes”

  55. Drumwaster says:

You’re never going to get a majority of women voting for your team.

Reagan pulled it off rather handily, winning women by ten points, and Nixon did even better with his reelection, with a 24-point lead among women (and THAT was after Kennedy won them by a similar margin, something Barry has yet to equal, and which was quite the turnaround). Even Bush the elder had them by four points, and the younger Bush was only down by four when he was elected.

So what was that you were saying? Oh, that’s alright, I understand how disconcerting it is when reality destroys your argument. Never had it happen to me, of course, but I’ve seen others just like you go through it. Time and time again. Issue after issue, topic after topic, you and your kind are ALWAYS on the side that causes more pain, death and suffering. It is mathematically impossible to be picking that side by chance, because even a broken clock is right every now and then.

Still waiting for that one characteristic that might make us think you remotely likeable…

  56. Slartibartfast says:

I can’t tell whether steve is being amusing on purpose or if it’s all a tragic accident.

I’d feel really bad about laughing if it were the latter case.

I don’t. I laugh whenever reality smacks someone in the face who had denied reality’s existence.

  58. RI Red says:

Amnesty was a trade-off with the liars on the Left who TOTALLYSWEARSIES that if Reagan legalized the illegals already there, the Dem-controlled congress would vote to secure the border with a fence and clean up the naturalization process. Amnesty happens, but the Dems reneged. Again.

Deficit spending had started under Carter, and the Dems running the House handled the over spending, even as the tax cuts Reagan had forced on them started to improve the economy and kept the deficit low – a wave that continued until Clinton popped the bubble.

All the rest are just more of your feeble attempts to re-write history, just as the first two were. You can’t pass the lies here, so don’t even try.

Say, how’s that personal trait coming along? Got one yet?

  64. palaeomerus says:

Hey guyz? Did you know that Alan Grayson is not a true Democrat? No true democrat would say those things. Steve says so. I should take that kind of assertion real seriously huh? Lol.

  65. palaeomerus says:

“And as to the rape rate in sweden – your party would wonder what they were wearing, what neighborhood they chose to walk in, and whether those were all really “legitimate” rapes. ”

No idiot. You’re supposed to say that our party would wonder what percentage of them were commited by groups of young unassimiliated muslim men. Get your stereotypes straight.

YOUR party, mynameissteve, would be calling for the heads of the duke Lacrosse Team long after Crystal Mangum was shown to be lying because Duke has deep pockets. Meanwhile they would be trying to get things set up so that Roman Polanski can come back to the US because sodomizing a drugged 13 year old isn’t “rape rape” by Whoopi Goldberg’s lights. Your party would be calling Monica Lewinski a dumb psycho whore AFTER the stained dress shows up and threatening Juanita Broaddrick with hell if she doesn’t shut up.

  66. palaeomerus says:

“there are only like THREE WOMEN IN ALL OF MIDDLE EARTH ”

Sure, and one of them killed the freaking Witch King of Angmar. Now, who run Barter Town?

  67. leigh says:

And killing Kathleen Willey’s cat for telling 60 Minutes that Clinton felt her up in the Oval Office.

  68. palaeomerus says:

Another lady sang and put Morgoth to sleep so that a silmaril could be stolen from his crown, but she probably doesn’t count because she was an elf (like Justin Bieber).

  69. McGehee says:

Reagan pulled it off rather handily, winning women by ten points

Remember how the media played up Reagan’s “gender gap” — the fact he was winning the women’s vote by only ten points. Oh, they dithered and dithered over what it portended for an America that would elect a man so disliked by teh womynses.

  70. sdferr says:

Loving women comes naturally to most men, just as contending with them comes naturally to most women. Sure there are exceptions — nature is replete with exceptions. But stories attributing otherwise seem weirdly to adhere to politics, which, in ordinary folk probably puts politics in a funny light.

  71. Slartibartfast says:

You’re supposed to say that our party would wonder what percentage of them were commited by groups of young unassimiliated muslim men.

So, you’re saying some of them weren’t rape rape?

  72. hellomynameissteve says:

I get that you all are very serious about protecting women from the left, but I think Rush says it better than any of you:

    http://jezebel.com/women-are-nothing-but-abortion-machines-sputters-rush-1460191800

    #TeaPartyWinning

  73. Slartibartfast says:

I see Jezebel hasn’t brushed up on her reading comprehension skills.

No wonder you like her. Birds of a feather.

  74. Drumwaster says:

Wow, talk about “out of context”…

What’s next, claiming the Bible encourages suicide, because it says “Judas went and hanged himself” and “Go ye therefore and do likewise”?

Which party is it that wants more abortions, and taxpayer funded abortions, at that?

“A liberal is a person who looks at a 14-year-old performing a sex act on stage and worries about whether she is being paid minimum wage.” — Irving Kristol

  75. leigh says:

steve, I could give a fuck about women “of the left”. Most of them are confused, stupid whores to be had for the price of a cheap cocktail and believe they are spreading their legs in the name of freedom from the Patriarchy™. Because nothing says liberated like getting it on with strangers. That they hold their virtue and self-worth so cheaply is a sorry reflection on their parents and community.

I’ve had to council and console too many of the victims of feminism over the years to believe your cheap rhetoric.

Get off this blog, you POS.

  76. bgbear says:

It is a pretty neat trick, criticize the left’s policies in frank language and have the left spin it around as a brutal attack on innocent individuals.

    let’s try it :

English Talk Show host: “The right’s gun culture is turning your children into murderers.”

Headline: “Stuffy Brit calls American children blood thirsty killers.

  77. palaeomerus says:

Shorter Steve: ” Rush out of context bullshit but still no true scotsman on all the shit that sticks to me.”

  78. palaeomerus says:

” So, you’re saying some of them weren’t rape rape?”

Muslims come from a very different culture which is why tracking Muslim immigrant youths having a highly elevated incidence of gang rape and sexual assault against non Muslim women in non-mulsim countries is somehow racist, even though muslims are not a race.

  79. palaeomerus says:

Democrats are turning women “into nothing but abortion machines” OR Liberal Policies Turn Women into “Nothing But Abortion Machines”

Shorter Steve: ” Rush Limbaugh calls women nothing but abortion machines”

Man if steve could only read half as well as he shits the bed…

And he’s right. Birth control and abortion are the only women’s issues anymore according to the leftist press assholes.

  80. hellomynameissteve says:

Levin’s is turning his listeners into nothing but racist homophobic ass wipes.

See what I did there. Don’t you feel a chill knowing that I’m truly looking out for you and just want the best for you?

  81. McGehee says:

If hellomynameisstupid were a cat toy, my wife’s cats would have buried it in the litterbox by now.

  82. newrouter says:

    no go away

  83. Slartibartfast says:

    See what I did there.

I don’t think you even see what you did there.

    Facepalm.

  84. Slartibartfast says:

    Better trolls, please?

  85. palaeomerus says:

“Levin’s is turning his listeners into nothing but racist homophobic ass wipes.”

Shorter Steve : Ed Shultz is a great guy!

“See what I did there. Don’t you feel a chill knowing that I’m truly looking out for you and just want the best for you? ”

Shorter Steve: I expect people to reward me when I jerk off and/or say stupid stuff.

  86. Slartibartfast says:

steve, I could give a fuck about women

You are a bad, bad person.

  87. leigh says:

nothing but racist homophobic ass wipes.

well, you’d know all about that now, wouldn’t you dear.

  88. leigh says:

You are a bad, bad person.

Slarti, I know you say that with love.

  89. palaeomerus says:

When you casually spam dumb arguments with no reality or moral weight to them Steve you lose the ability to shame on demand. You act up and people roll their eyes and think, “Oh. There’s steve and his dumb made up drama shit again, what a soft headed little twerp. He should get a life. “

  90. palaeomerus says:

And we also think “No wonder McAuliffe almost lost his race even with 10 to 1 spending and a third party candidate, and STILL did the worst of all the democrat executive pickups. He’s a Steve type of candidate. A scammer. “

  91. leigh says:

steve probably was a lot of child pornography on his computer. At least that’s what I heard . . .

  92. Drumwaster says:

Amazingly enough, I, too, heard that hellomynameisstephanie has child porn on his computer. I guess the repetition makes it true!

  93. leigh says:

    My God! It is true!

  94. Drumwaster says:

So that now leads us to the question of “How many little boys have you raped, hellomynameisreallyHarryReid?”

  95. leigh says:

I sure wouldn’t let my child be in his scout troop after all those allegations, Drum.

  96. RI Red says:

So steve’s one endearing quality is that he likes little boys.
    Okay, then.

  97. SBP says:

Slaphead also thinks that women in Sweden are making too much of a big deal out of rape. If they’d only they’d stop running to the cops over trivialities, Sweden would have “normal” rape statistics.

It’s not “rape rape” if it’s committed by a leftist or a Person of Color. That right, Slaphead?

  98. SBP says:

    “See what I did there.”

Called us racist homophobes? Hate to break it to you, but that’s not actually very…umm…original.

Most of us don’t actually care any more.

Better come up with some new material, pronto.

  99. Pablo says:

This particular brain-dead sophist has outlived his uselessness. Can’t we get an entertaining troll every now and then?

  100. McGehee says:

Hey guys, guess what I just heard? hellomynameisstupid is this guy’s hero!

  101. leigh says:

No wonder he doesn’t have an avatar. It would be a dead give away.

  102. Patrick Chester says:

Feel that whoosh? It’s (again) the point blowing right past you.

More like you flinging more bullshit at us and missing.

  103. Patrick Chester says:

Note: Fascism looks a lot more like compelling someone to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound than providing them the option of contraception.

Abortion is contraception to the voices in your tiny little head?

    Um.

    Wow.

You really are a mindless little drone.

  104. Drumwaster says:

I think I also heard he’s so into little boys that even the NAMBLA President said, “Dude, take a step back…”

Anyone else out there heard similar rumors? I must insist that we use at least two sources, just like the news media does.

  105. McGehee says:

He calls it “the option.” But it includes compelling businesses owned by people who consider abortion murder, to pay for said murders.

I messaged Inigo Montoya about it and he said, “Any fucking moron who’s that mixed up about the meaning of the word ‘option’ is too stupid to breathe without written instructions.”

  106. McGehee says:

One of my sources told me he considers boys that have learned to walk “too old.”

  107. Patrick Chester says:

    Steve blathered
See what I did there. Don’t you feel a chill knowing that I’m truly looking out for you and just want the best for you?

Your usual libel and slander attempts is your way of wanting the best for us?

Pull the other one. It’s got bells on it.

  108. Patrick Chester says:

Note to self: No longer snark at stevie when he leaves his dribbles at 1-2am Houston time and runs off. It’s really his best option, alas.

  109. leigh says:

Drum, I must admit that my source (who must remain confidential) confirms that rumor. In spades.

Further, he is not allowed in the changing rooms at the public pool next summer after that incident with the pre-schoolers.

  110. Pablo says:

    Huh.

Pick One: Marriage Culture Or Government Culture

That means Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli didn’t lose women so much as single women. He won a majority of the votes of married women. One fascinating crosstab from race showed that Cuccinelli actually did better with married women (51-42%) than with married men (50-44%).

    Imagine that.
