GOP Senators who voted FOR “Rulingclasscare” before voting against it

— with the latter vote being but a ruse and a slap in the face of House conservatives, as they themselves have already noted.

Time to go:

Lamar Alexander, TN
Kelly Ayotte, NH
John Barasso, WY
Roy Blunt, MO
John Boozman, AR
Richard Burr, NC
Saxby Chambliss, GA (Retiring)
Jeff Chiesa, NJ
Dan Coats, IN
Tom Coburn, OK
Thad Cochran, MS
Susan Collins, ME
Bob Corker, TN
John Cornyn, TX
Deb Fischer, NE
Jeff Flake, AZ
Lindsey Graham, SC
Orrin Hatch, UT
John Hoeven, ND
Johnny Isakson, GA
Mike Johanns, NE
Ron Johnson, WI
Mark Kirk, IL
John McCain, AZ
Mitch McConnel, KY
Lisa Murkowski, AK
John Thune, SD
Roger Wicker, MS

Thune and Johnson are clear disappointments. But it is what it is, and there’s no turning back now.

  1. happyfeet says:

people went to bat for Orrin Hatch

    they got fucking played huh

  2. Tregonsee says:

Beginning several weeks ago in Tennessee, we have been seeing signs that say “Defeat Lamar!” It will be tough, but by no means impossible IF conservatives can settle on one candidate rather than split the primary vote.

  3. RI Red says:

Someone remind me, what was it that came after “ballot box”?

  4. Squid says:

They’re counting on us sticking with “soap box.”

It’s funny — they constantly assert that we’re all a bunch of violent racist cousin-humping gun-toting redneck apes, but their behavior consistently shows how confident they are that we’re decent law-abiding well-behaved good neighbors. Which we are, at least until they cross a certain red line…

  5. leigh says:

We’re anarchists! Squid. Harry Reid said so on the senate floor. And hostage takers.

We’re apparently the American version of Al Qaeda without the beheadings.

  6. leigh says:

Funny how their “folks” are Freedom Fighters. cf: Occupy Wall Street.

  7. Squid says:

I just hope that they understand how they’re forcing me to choose between selling out my principles and my freedom, versus embracing violence. When those are the only two options left on the table, the negotiations will not end well.

  8. Shermlaw says:

Sort of OT: I just got off the phone with my insurance guy, who informed me of yet another lie perpetrated by the Ruling Class. Specifically, those of us with high, 1st dollar deductibles, would be allowed to change our renewal dates to December 31, 2013, thereby allowing us one more year of our present coverage. The Worthies realized that too many people were going to take that option and, via executive fiat, removed it. My insurance guy found out today. He’s beside himself, because the legitimate advice he gave his clients is for naught, as the government has changed the rules midstream, all to suck more dollars out of the economy to pass on to their cronies.

I weep, when I think about what my country once was.

  9. leigh says:

Non-compliance, Shermlaw. It’s the only way out.

  10. dicentra says:

I never went to bat with Hatch and in fact had a long argument with Duane Patterson (Hewitt’s producer, which he doesn’t have) via email over that very thing.

Even Levin went in for Hatch.

That guy fools a LOT of people, the old liar. He fakes sincerity better than just about anyone.

  11. Blake says:

I have a comfortable life and have had for a few years now. I slaved for decades before I finally made it.

I’m going to miss this life once the shooting starts.

  12. agenesisofthecorpuscallosum says:

Ron Johnson is such a disappointment. He ran, and won his senate seat again Feingold, because of his direct opposition to the ACA. This just sickens me.

  13. agenesisofthecorpuscallosum says:

    Against Feingold.

  14. McGehee says:

Isakson might as well announce right now he wont seek re-election.

  15. leigh says:

Coburn has already done so. It will save me the trouble of writing scorching letters to his office.

  16. RI Red says:

Blake, I hear ya. 40+ years of nose/ grindstone and I could just sit back and watch. Can’t do it though.

  17. MathMom says:

As far as I can determine, Deb Fischer voted AGAINST cloture. She stood w/Cruz. (source: PJMedia, emails from Tea Party Patriots).

  18. leigh says:

    Yes, she did.

  19. serr8d says:

Lamar Alexander’s signature legislation this past session was…fishing rights. Under the TVA’s dams. He’s proud of that.

Opponent’s ads write themselves: “Lamar: Time to go FISHING!”.

But the dirty bastiche has a Name. And a fat war chest. It’ll be difficult to unseat his McCain-loving ass.

  21. RI Red says:

Leigh, non-compliance really means stop paying taxes. I might have mentioned that before.

  22. newrouter says:

when do we do: : democrats: party of old stupid white peeps; biden, reid, pelosi, clintons, hoyer, krugman, reich, brokaw, soros, etal

  23. serr8d says:

Harry Reid has certainly moved up on my list of humans whom I’d like to hear have started rotting. NRA rating notwithstanding.

  24. leigh says:

Yes, you did Red. That works for me.

  25. StrangernFiction says:

    Kill it!

    The GOP that is.

  26. Ernst Schreiber says:

But the dirty bastiche has a Name. And a fat war chest. It’ll be difficult to unseat his McCain-loving ass.

Not if you’re prepared to vote for the Democrat in the general.

  27. Ernst Schreiber says:

It seems to me the Republicans just lost any chance of taking back the Senate, and, depending on what the Boehner and company decide to do, maybe keeping control of the House as well. And the really frustrating thing is that they’ll conclude they lost because they opposed Obamacare. Because that’s what the Washington Post, the New York Times, Karl Rove’s whiteboard, and all their Democrat chums in the cloakroom will tell them.

But the truth of the matter is, they’ll have lost because they didn’t oppose Obamacare enough. So now the base is either dispirited to the point of checking out, or more invested in defeating Republican incumbents than they are in defeating Democrats.

  28. We really need a second party in this country.

  29. happyfeet says:

any creature still running round identifying itself as part of the Republican base is a fucking momo

  30. EBL says:

Thune and Johnson want to be part of “our GOP elites.” That is where the power is.

Cruz and Paul want to do the right thing.

  31. EBL says:

The ironic part is by freaking out about a government shutdown, they are giving Obama and Reid everything they want.

  32. McGehee says:

It’s only ironic if it isn’t what they want.

  33. StrangernFiction says:

or more invested in defeating Republican incumbents than they are in defeating Democrats.

Better the statist D than the statist R.

  34. serr8d says:

Not if you’re prepared to vote for the Democrat in the general.

Done. I’m not ever going to support (vote or fund) a candidate who is so transparently lying.

Can’t stay home; one’s vote has significant meaning: there’s those who’ve given their lives to ensure we can vote. But damned if it’s going to be cast as a worthless write-in or for a backstabbing RINO jackass. At least with the Democrat, I’ll get a known, honest about his mistaken principles, jackass.

  35. RI Red says:

I can’t wait to see next year’s 1040 and its questions re obamacare. I’m going to have fun saying myob, fukyue and upyerz in various languages. I may have to talk to my accountant about it.
