Only Big Government is able to help you … [Darleen Click]

Right?

Looks as if FEMA is just a fair- weather friend.

Yesterday’s nor’easter proved too much for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s aid location in Tottenville, SI — which hung a sign reading “Closed due to weather” as the wintery storm blew into town.

Ten FEMA centers in the area reportedly suspended operations because of the storm, although the location with the sign at the Mount Loretto Community Center did open at noon.

But don’t worry, New Yorkers, I’m sure Chris “I’m glad God sent Sandy to help Obama” Matthews will be right over to help out.

  1. Yeah, but if the local government and FEMA bungle their assistance after a natural disaster and no one reports it, did it really happen? Never heard much about Obama’s mishandling of the BP oil spill recovery (including his Sec. of Interior illegally shutting down all offshore drilling despite a court order, etc.).

As long as the right people are comfortable (hint: like the ones who attended Bette Midler’s posh Halloween party) it’s all good. It’s amazing how freeing it is to have a lapdog press covering for you.

  2. At least the sign didn’t say “Closed Due to Climate Change.”

  3. “If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
    — Samuel Adams

  4. Yeah, but don’t worry. Once disaster strikes and the food runs out, I’m sure we won’t bear the slightest grudge that we fought for our liberty while you danced in the streets because with the chains came comfort.

Totally. Why would we? Bruce Springsteen might call.

  5. Suckers. They voted obama anyway. Dogs, vomit, some assembly required.

  6. Dogs, vomit, some assembly required.

I dunno. I’m thinking that with dogs the assembly pretty much takes care of itself.
